I understand that Masters is going to be closing down and that it will affect staff. However if you are still working there at least make the effort to be there. My family waited around an hour and in the end the person who was suppose to serve us never came and another employee had to help out. Although we did get what we intended, it took far too long.
Security poorly handled.
Store [ Forrestdale] was teeming with bargain hunters on the long weekend, but as we hadn't chosen anything we headed for the garden area exit doors. I was with my husband and we headed for the door, but were abruptly stopped by a security man who didn't even make an attempt at being polite. I opened my small handbag [ less than A4 size], allowed him to look inside and he [unsmiling] allowed us to leave. There was no pleasantness, no thank you or "enjoy your day"- just a scowl. We had not been acting oddly or picking items up in a suspicious manner. My husband and I both have police clearances due to our work.If this is how customers are encouraged to be loyal it's no wonder Masters is going under.
Liquidation sale - frustrating
Masters Landsdale WA: I needed light fittings for the whole house and I was interested in some shades. Their discounted prices were still higher than what you could get online from other suppliers (on the East Coast). I really wanted to see if the shades fit in my rooms but there were no dimensions available even on their website. You must bring your own tool to measure them then go home and imagine how they would look in your space then come back again. I would have liked to buy and go but what do you do with a $60 shade if it does not fit? ...I think light fittings are the most sensitive things to decide on and few people will buy in these circumstances (I saw many customers put off by this policy, today). If there is no exchange policy then they should come to their senses and drop the prices for real!
Q: When is a sale not a sale?
A: When the operator is Woolworths.
I thought I would check out the Adelaide A/P store yesterday, the first clue this was going to be a disappointing visit was that the car park was less than 1/4 full. Not much was discounted by more than 10%, an amount not worth making a special trip just for this "sale" for. A few items 20-30% but mostly on smaller priced slower moving type stock, almost so they can say something carried this discount. Staff seemed pretty disengaged (understandably) and could not help but overhear some of their negative comments about the job.
This is a poor excuse for a closing down sale.
So called sale as advertised
Travelled from Geelong to Werribee store as we had seen advertised on the TV that there was. 60 % sale due to the closing of the stores, after finally finding the store no such sale, when we asked the staff they blamed the press and told us we were one of many people each day asking the same question, is this false advertising. Looks like you have lost put again. Felt sorry for the staff as some people are abusing them.
Customer service bad
Been twice in lunch breaks now as work close by had to wait in lines one till open.. Complained..
Went second time same thing topped by asking a person who worked there for help all he did was say in aisle 18 right hand side, after telling him I didn't know what I was looking for ..
Went for job interview with Masters they drive for customer service they said what a Joke...
A nice young lady could see I was annoyed jumped to open another till and after I complained to him lack of service he said he didn't know why people don't jump on tills ...
DIY Kitchens Definitely NOT DIY!
We had a full measure and quote done for our kitchen by MASTERS and when we got it, it didn't fit, we had to make adjustments to it by removing feet from the pantry and also knocking out part of our wall fortunately it was only plaster. The staff were somewhat helpful but you could see by the look on their faces that it was ... "oh no not them again". The Profile kitchen instructions leave a lot to be desired as there is virtually no written instruction just pictures and arrows etc... not very helpful and there is no help line. I wouldn't recommend the DIY Kitchen to anyone unless one of the installers is a tradie, fortunately my husband is one but still this is by NO means a DIY.
Forget clearance lines advertised
Went online to browse, saw light bulbs advertised as clearance for 50 cents each, different wattages...suited my needs perfectly so I decided rather than click and collect I'd head to the store in person. Apparently they didn't have any however they were all there on the shelf but I was told by 2 staff that the barcodes might have changed (I know it wasn't the packaging) which they also tried to say was the issue), it appears false advertising to get you into the store.
Recently visited the Masters store in Burnside Vic, I was interested in purchasing some new flooring for my home. I was enquiring about both laminate and carpet. When I first visited the store the staff member was very helpful and explained the different products and then arranged for a measure and quote at my residence.
This was the first time that I purchased any flooring, I was a little bit confused about meter squared and Lineal metres, however the staff member was helpful and explained the different to me, as well as the price per box ...of laminate flooring. Following on from the measure and quote I was contacted by Joshua (the person who completed the measure and quote) and then subsequently given a follow up call by Tony from the Master Store. I spoke briefly to Tony and advised I would visit the store on Saturday 14/05/2016, as there was a promotion with a further 5 % off laminates with the additional 25%. I visited the store and spoke with Tony, who I might add was very helpful in his approach, we sat at a desk and everything about the flooring was explained, Tony also assisted me in choosing and pricing up underlay as well as the additional products I would require. I found Tony to be professional and really took his time to explain processes as well as answer all my questions, and I applaud his integrity and honestly as he called on other experienced member on question to which he did not no the answer to. Unfortunately for me I was unable to commit to purchasing the items on that day, as I had a few other errands I needed to do. I advised Tony if I am unable to come back would the price remain as it is, to which I was advised the sale end on 25/05/16.
OMG where is OH&S when you need it
I was at Masters Box Hill South this morning ordering some more internal doors for my reno, took forever again, not due to the staff, they were great. It's hard to be productive when there is an inadequate and poor computer system. While going through this some other staff were unloading a delivery pallet in the trade section which had an infestation of red back spiders. Not one or two, dozens. They went to notify there boss. They were given some gardening gloves and told to keep going. OH&S guidelines be buggered. Not to mention that these spi...ders are now roaming around the Box Hill South store. Good luck when someone get bitten. Hopefully not a child. What an idiot they have in control of that store. No wonder they are going under. Won't be shopping there again. It's not that hard Masters. Lift your game.
Poor service, poor attitude
Wanted to buy a washing machine from Nerang store , trying to find out if the machine was for sale in store, cut a long story short, staff were not interested in going out of their way to help, no call back, rang to complain to manager, copped sassy attitude from lady on phone, rang complaints line, got stuffed around, wouldn't bother looking at there products again.
Tried to help out by making a sale for them , spent my $500 + at JB where the sale was appreciated.
Poor Management and Attitude by Project Managers
We wanted to renovate the kitchen of our very elderly parents (90 and 86) and spoke with the designer from South Oakleigh Masters store. Very happy with his design and attention to our needs. Giving him a star. Decided to buy the package of kitchen and installation. The kitchen renovation took over 10 weeks to complete. Yes 10 weeks. It would have taken less time to rebuild their house. The attitude from the 3 project managers, yes 3, was very poor. All they could say about the numerous delays was that they were covered by the contract and we j...ust had to accept it. Only when the extended and then extended contract finally ran out did we see movement from the `project managers' and kitchen was finished almost immediately. The more we complained, the longer the delays. Communication was all one way from us, either by phone or email, and, although the delays were all their fault, not one phone call from the manager of the store to apologise to his elderly customers who were living with a half built kitchen for all that time. At one stage one of the project managers even told me he didn't know that a fault hadn't been fixed because he couldn't read minds! I thought project managers actually managed a project. So they weren't even talking to each other! These people had no respect for their company or for their customers. They just shrugged off the damage to Masters' reputation in the community. Thank goodness for the work and attitude by their tradies. Faultless. Thus the second star. We were also supposed to be given a questionnaire at the end of the job but, of course, that didn't happen (or is it just delayed?). The finished kitchen is great but steer clear of getting your kitchen project managed by Masters. Masters could be a genuine contender with Bunnings if some of their employees were changed.
Only our 2nd time visit as it's well out of the way but am painting at the moment but walked in the front door was met with a girl standing there didn't even make eye contact and then shoves a catalog in my body which I took and left on a flower pot and then after trying to work out how the paint was stored or in some sort of order which was who knows where what is we paid for it and then as we walked past the same statue at the door she sprung to life and said stop where's your reciept I was already out the door but she nearly had her head in the bottom of the mrs small bag it was so offensive no wonder no one goes there cause we won't
West Gosford store, asked in garden dept, where the rolled turf was? Staff replied down Isle 6, just go and help yourself, then asked make staff where a trolley was to put turf on, he told me, then walked away, I am 60 yrs old, I had to load 10 rolls onto trolley, manoeuvre my way through car park, and load into car, no offers to help from staff, another customer offered to help me, when I shop at Bunnings, staff always offer to help, especially with such a heavy, dirty, and difficult load, won't shop there again, very dissapointing
Not surprised they cannot compete with their rival.
Recently purchased a garden electrical appliance online as a christmas gift. It was sent to us after a few days from oone of the local masters store and was shocked to find that the item was opened and appears used with surface scratches and dust. The box seal was opened as well.
Took it back to that store which was 25mins drive away. The guy in charge of online sales inspected the item and insisted it was brand new and said it was because the item is a 'cheap' brand. The item is discountinued and they refused a price match for a similar item ...
Masters Baldivis - Gardening section slackers
In the gardening section of the Baldivis store i've noticed on a number of occasions a small group of staff standing near the gardening checkouts just talking and giggling between themselves. Their backs are often turned away from the customers and the showroom floor, and it appears that offering customer service is the last things on their minds.
On my last visit there was a worker slowly wandering around singing quite loudly to himself and it appeared that he couldn't care less about how poorly he was representing himself and his place of w...
I would dearly like to support my local Masters store but every time i want to purchase something, i go online to compare prices between Masters and Bunnings, and it's always more expensive at Masters, a Backing plate for my Bosch Multitool was nearly $2 dearer in Masters, a piece of Plywood was $2 dearer in Masters, rolls of Sandpaper were dearer in Masters, although i have to say, they were Two different but as far as i'm concerned equally good brands, Flexovit and Norton. Both Masters and Bunnings are of equal distance from me but it's Bunnings for me for price. Get your act together Masters, please, i want to support you.
Don't get a Masters kitchen
Went into Masters and paid for them to measure my old kitchen as all I was doing was replacing the old for new. Never saw the measurements but the design team assured me that what I had signed off on was exactly the same placement as the old one. Well it wasn't ..it is a good 30+cm out. Made complaints and they sent the Fyshwick store manager out to have a look. This manager was very aggressive and was throwing his arms around at my daughters face level. My daughter pointed out how aggressive he was being and he turned on her by calling her ri...diculous and sarcastically asked if he should put his hands in his pockets. Of course she said yes but then he muttered something under his breath, to which my daughter pulled him up on. By this stage I grabbed my phone and started recording him. Of course he settled down but no one has the right to enter a customers house and try to intimidate them with their size and language. In the end the mistake was theirs starting from the measurements and them assuming things regardless of what I had requested. The flat packed cabinets were missing bits or had broken parts to which they have been very slow to replace, but the manager is delivering them in person. I now need to remove a wall and my laundry if I want a dinning table in my kitchen/ dinning area. I called my bench top people to let them know I was ready for the measure up and when they saw it was a Masters kitchen they stated that they refuse to do them due to the poor cabinet quality. Took me some serious convincing to get them to agree to do my bench tops (Pacific Stone are the suppliers...best there is ). As it stands I am up for at least 20k to re design my house around their mistakes..I've had no choice in keeping the over sized kitchen because if it was taken down and replaced with what I wanted my bench tops wouldn't be ready till next year as they are not taking anymore orders for this year which means no kitchen for Christmas. The Masters staff at Fyshwick are fantastic and they remember me every time I'm in there, only had trouble with the manager. In the end I would advise that you don't get a Masters kitchen because it will cost you more than you could ever imagine..my sparkie, plasterer and plumber now all have to change their original set up and that's gonna cost me even more now......
