Masters Home Improvement
It's really good functionaly but there are things and improvementertainment to be fixed.
It's got great service but there needs to be more chairs the only chair I've seem is next to the bathrooms this is rediculous and needs to be fixed, maybe have planners like Bunnings maybe if you copied bunnings more you'd be more successful, instead of putting all your money into different aspects. Although I'm not a buyer I quite like the whole set out. Also why not provide more demos be kid friendly and more diy workshops, give customers more options and flexibility the last thing I'll say is medium sized baskets are bad for a start the ha...Read more
ndleft is top short and to small. Maybe also make customers feel more free. Ok thanks I know these things are minor but you'd be surprised that min or improvements go a long way to success focus on flaws and fix them think of flaws and how to fix them I cam see plenty. More tools also.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Nice surprise that they still accepted our gift cards
We don't really have a Masters nearby - the closest store being South Morang (which is about 30+ minutes drive) - but received a gift card as an engagement gift because we're renovating our home. We dropped in once when we were going past a store months ago and had a look but left empty handed as we didn't have the gift card on us. Then we heard the news that Masters was closing down and started to get worried that they wouldn't allow us to redeem our gift card (as what happened with Borders when they closed a few years ago) - the gift card was...Read more
for a few hundred dollars, so we really wanted to use it if we could. We visited our nearest store on our first free weekend and enquired with a staff member whether they were still accepting gift cards. She assured us that they were and even double checked with the manager (unasked) just to make sure we wouldn't be blindsided. We were a little disappointed that all the sales they were advertising turned out to only be 10% off but understood this isn't the staff's doing. We ended up grabbing a few things for our new bathroom (spending more than the gift card value) and redeemed the gift card without issue. The same staff member we spoke with upon entry even came over to help us checkout through the self-serve checkouts.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!
Customer service...
I understand that Masters is going to be closing down and that it will affect staff. However if you are still working there at least make the effort to be there. My family waited around an hour and in the end the person who was suppose to serve us never came and another employee had to help out. Although we did get what we intended, it took far too long.

Security poorly handled.
Store [ Forrestdale] was teeming with bargain hunters on the long weekend, but as we hadn't chosen anything we headed for the garden area exit doors. I was with my husband and we headed for the door, but were abruptly stopped by a security man who didn't even make an attempt at being polite. I opened my small handbag [ less than A4 size], allowed him to look inside and he [unsmiling] allowed us to leave. There was no pleasantness, no thank you or "enjoy your day"- just a scowl. We had not been acting oddly or picking items up in a suspicious manner. My husband and I both have police clearances due to our work.If this is how customers are encouraged to be loyal it's no wonder Masters is going under.

Liquidation sale - frustrating
Masters Landsdale WA: I needed light fittings for the whole house and I was interested in some shades. Their discounted prices were still higher than what you could get online from other suppliers (on the East Coast). I really wanted to see if the shades fit in my rooms but there were no dimensions available even on their website. You must bring your own tool to measure them then go home and imagine how they would look in your space then come back again. I would have liked to buy and go but what do you do with a $60 shade if it does not fit? ...Read more
I think light fittings are the most sensitive things to decide on and few people will buy in these circumstances (I saw many customers put off by this policy, today). If there is no exchange policy then they should come to their senses and drop the prices for real!Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Smiles in the Gloom
Reading a lot of these reviews I think I've been lucky. Renovating at the moment and I've bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff from the Bibra Lake store in the past few months both in store and online. Never had a drama and staff have always been fantastic.
Even in the gloom of the staff loosing their jobs I've still had great service. The manager Rachel especially.
Not happy with the false start fire sale but that's big corporations for you. Woolworths are shooting themselves in the foot. Upsetting customers is just dumb business. No one likes a liar.

Q: When is a sale not a sale?
A: When the operator is Woolworths.
I thought I would check out the Adelaide A/P store yesterday, the first clue this was going to be a disappointing visit was that the car park was less than 1/4 full. Not much was discounted by more than 10%, an amount not worth making a special trip just for this "sale" for. A few items 20-30% but mostly on smaller priced slower moving type stock, almost so they can say something carried this discount. Staff seemed pretty disengaged (understandably) and could not help but overhear some of their negative comments about the job.
This is a poor excuse for a closing down sale.

So called sale as advertised
Travelled from Geelong to Werribee store as we had seen advertised on the TV that there was. 60 % sale due to the closing of the stores, after finally finding the store no such sale, when we asked the staff they blamed the press and told us we were one of many people each day asking the same question, is this false advertising. Looks like you have lost put again. Felt sorry for the staff as some people are abusing them.

Worst customer service , unhelpful staff
Every masters ov been into i had to hunt for a staff member, but worst of all is the fact that every time I have asked for advice from staff they have no product knowledge and always seem to look horrified when you ask them a question? ?

DIY Kitchens Definitely NOT DIY!
We had a full measure and quote done for our kitchen by MASTERS and when we got it, it didn't fit, we had to make adjustments to it by removing feet from the pantry and also knocking out part of our wall fortunately it was only plaster. The staff were somewhat helpful but you could see by the look on their faces that it was ... "oh no not them again". The Profile kitchen instructions leave a lot to be desired as there is virtually no written instruction just pictures and arrows etc... not very helpful and there is no help line. I wouldn't recommend the DIY Kitchen to anyone unless one of the installers is a tradie, fortunately my husband is one but still this is by NO means a DIY.

Forget clearance lines advertised
Went online to browse, saw light bulbs advertised as clearance for 50 cents each, different wattages...suited my needs perfectly so I decided rather than click and collect I'd head to the store in person. Apparently they didn't have any however they were all there on the shelf but I was told by 2 staff that the barcodes might have changed (I know it wasn't the packaging) which they also tried to say was the issue), it appears false advertising to get you into the store.

Rude staff
Recently visited the Masters store in Burnside Vic, I was interested in purchasing some new flooring for my home. I was enquiring about both laminate and carpet. When I first visited the store the staff member was very helpful and explained the different products and then arranged for a measure and quote at my residence.
This was the first time that I purchased any flooring, I was a little bit confused about meter squared and Lineal metres, however the staff member was helpful and explained the different to me, as well as the price per box ...Read more
of laminate flooring. Following on from the measure and quote I was contacted by Joshua (the person who completed the measure and quote) and then subsequently given a follow up call by Tony from the Master Store. I spoke briefly to Tony and advised I would visit the store on Saturday 14/05/2016, as there was a promotion with a further 5 % off laminates with the additional 25%. I visited the store and spoke with Tony, who I might add was very helpful in his approach, we sat at a desk and everything about the flooring was explained, Tony also assisted me in choosing and pricing up underlay as well as the additional products I would require. I found Tony to be professional and really took his time to explain processes as well as answer all my questions, and I applaud his integrity and honestly as he called on other experienced member on question to which he did not no the answer to. Unfortunately for me I was unable to commit to purchasing the items on that day, as I had a few other errands I needed to do. I advised Tony if I am unable to come back would the price remain as it is, to which I was advised the sale end on 25/05/16.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!
OMG where is OH&S when you need it
I was at Masters Box Hill South this morning ordering some more internal doors for my reno, took forever again, not due to the staff, they were great. It's hard to be productive when there is an inadequate and poor computer system. While going through this some other staff were unloading a delivery pallet in the trade section which had an infestation of red back spiders. Not one or two, dozens. They went to notify there boss. They were given some gardening gloves and told to keep going. OH&S guidelines be buggered. Not to mention that these spi...Read more

A pity they are closing, The staff are always very helpful and able to offer alternative items or advice for varying projects/tasks. I was looking advice for some painting tasks and the Paint Staff gave me a quite a few ideas on how best to handle the job and tips on best decorating practice. I would loved to have worked there it was a great atmosphere.

It is good in there
I haven't been in to the store for a couple of weeks but I walk past it everytime I go to the supermarket. Staff are cheerful and they have always been better for customer service. It is a pity.... The staff are much better than a Bunnings store in my experience!

Poor service, poor attitude
Wanted to buy a washing machine from Nerang store , trying to find out if the machine was for sale in store, cut a long story short, staff were not interested in going out of their way to help, no call back, rang to complain to manager, copped sassy attitude from lady on phone, rang complaints line, got stuffed around, wouldn't bother looking at there products again.
Tried to help out by making a sale for them , spent my $500 + at JB where the sale was appreciated.

Poor Management and Attitude by Project Managers
We wanted to renovate the kitchen of our very elderly parents (90 and 86) and spoke with the designer from South Oakleigh Masters store. Very happy with his design and attention to our needs. Giving him a star. Decided to buy the package of kitchen and installation. The kitchen renovation took over 10 weeks to complete. Yes 10 weeks. It would have taken less time to rebuild their house. The attitude from the 3 project managers, yes 3, was very poor. All they could say about the numerous delays was that they were covered by the contract and we j...Read more
ust had to accept it. Only when the extended and then extended contract finally ran out did we see movement from the `project managers' and kitchen was finished almost immediately. The more we complained, the longer the delays. Communication was all one way from us, either by phone or email, and, although the delays were all their fault, not one phone call from the manager of the store to apologise to his elderly customers who were living with a half built kitchen for all that time. At one stage one of the project managers even told me he didn't know that a fault hadn't been fixed because he couldn't read minds! I thought project managers actually managed a project. So they weren't even talking to each other! These people had no respect for their company or for their customers. They just shrugged off the damage to Masters' reputation in the community. Thank goodness for the work and attitude by their tradies. Faultless. Thus the second star. We were also supposed to be given a questionnaire at the end of the job but, of course, that didn't happen (or is it just delayed?). The finished kitchen is great but steer clear of getting your kitchen project managed by Masters. Masters could be a genuine contender with Bunnings if some of their employees were changed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Thank you
I would like to thank for all the help we had at Masters. Especially a young lady at Braybrook Patricia, she helped us when we complained about the way Laminated Floor was laid and made sure that eventually it was done to our satisfaction and I know she went to a great deal of trouble to please us and I would especially like to thank her for all the hard work she went to until it was done to our satisfaction
