Bought a pair of prescription MJ. Within 2 months the lens started to separate from the frame. On warranty claim it was suggested I’d left them in the sun. Never left sunglasses in the sun in 30 yrs. They said on viewing for warranty the glasses were in perfect ‘as new’ condition So a few months later the other lens did the same - same questions. Glasses were essentially as new with 1 hr wear a day. So I paid over $1k aud for this ? Then the case breaks ..again I’m questioned ...again they view & say it’s in perfect condition (I use the case every time ) . Not what I expect for that money guys. Good lenses but fitting worse than any $300 of sunnies I’ve owned over my lifetime

The lens quality has changed. Used to have "PC - BG" Grey Lenses on my Ho'okipa's. When at the shops and replacing, I was told they have changed the lens type to "MP - BG". This means PolyCarbonate is now
MauiPure.

The beautiful rich blues that I used to see when looking through the the PC lens are replaced with a nasty green hue. The lens is what made Maui Jim special. Without the PC lens I can no longer recommend the brand - I'm really really disappointed to have to search for a new brand.

I contacted Maui Jim in Feb/March this year and they couldn't track find any of the older style.

Benefits; Large vents all around the frame allow Water out and mist to evaporate. The shape fits nicely over the contours of my face. Great for Fishing, watersports and driving. Brown tint is excellent in low light conditions. Unlike conventional glasses, these have a neoprene strap across the back of the head which is captive so the glasses will not fall off, instead of the conventional "wings" that hook over your ears, very comfortable. Would have to rate as one of the best Sunglasses I have owned.
