Not a fan
My son absolutely hates being in this capsule as it makes him really hot, he cries while seated in it and comes out all sweaty I wish they would improve on the fabric and make it more breathable (moisture wicking) and better suited to the weather conditions during the Australian summer season. The only thing I like about this is that fact that IF he does fall asleep then I can carry him without disturbing him and that it clicks into our pram (redsbaby jive2). Also the handle clips being on either end is a nuisance I would be awesome if it was in the middle of the handle instead

Complicated and confusing to install
From the moment I bought this I thought my newborn will be the safest and most comfortable. Installing and adjusting is so complicated, I recommend you have professionally installed and take notes or record the professionals on how to adjust it. A bit pricey but didn’t matter as long as it’s safe. Buy man it took years off me trying to install and adjust, and yes my partner also tried.
Also, if you’re petite and carrying an approximately 3-4 kilo capsule plus your newborn... god help me if she was more than 6 months... it’s impossible to carry. I have an uppababy vista that can have the capsule placed on it but haven’t had the chance to buy the adapters to connect it.
Purchased in December 2018 at Baby Bunting for $350.00.

Handy capsule but could be improved
We have a newborn and purchased this capsule so we didn't have to move our baby out of a car seat and into a pram. First thing is the baby does seem to find the capsule very comfortable and falls to sleep most the time in the capsule. He does feel safe inside the capsule, and we purchased the Mico AP over the lighter MAXI COSI Citi as it rated higher on independent safety tests. I guess the downside to that is that I wouldn't call it a light capsule and as our newborn grows I do question how easy my wife will be able to move it around.
Prob...ably the biggest issue I have with the capsule is the strap on the capsule that connects to the strap attached to the car seat is quite fiddly to unclip as you need to try and unclip with one hand and hold the strap with the other to prevent it slingshotting into your childs face but the design means you need to get the clip on all sorts of angles to disconnect. The other negative is that the removal of the capsule from a pram requires you to push two buttons in on either side of the capsule and lift up, this is not a simple task to do alone and I feel would have been a lot more straight forward if only one button was required to release so you could push the button and lift at the same time to eject the capsule. Overall though for what we paid I'm happy enough.
Purchased in December 2018 at Amazon for $240.00.
Worst purchase ever.
I just bought this capsule today from Baby Bunting. Installation manual says you need to use a locking clip to secure the capsule but it doesnt come with the box. I tried installing the capsule without the clip and it looks very insecure.
So I ringed Baby Bunting and learned that it is optional and it "adds" to security of the capsule and costs $5.99.
So picture this, you buy a $379 capsule and come home and find out that you need to drive back to get this $6 worth accessory.
I will definitely go back but just to return it.
Purchased in March 2019 at Baby Bunting Physical store for $379.00.
Isofix is poor
Purchased the isofix version specifically because it generally means a much more secure fit. However the isofix implementation on this is awful. It's poorly designed and isn't compatible with our Volkswagen despite the car being isofix standard compliant. With isofix attached and tightened to maximum, the base is dangerously loose and not secure at all. Further when I contacted support they were highly unhelpful, refusing a refund and telling me I should have checked first. The isofix connectors on the base are a poor hack and the manufactur...er has not put effort into designing the base for isofix. Rather it is a poor workaround using the seatbelt system. We are now forced to consider our options. A poorly fitting dangerous seat, or go find a different brand. Buyer beware.
Expensive and Frustrating Ownership Experience
We bought this capsule for our daughter when she was born in August 2017 and its been an expensive and frustrating ownership experience in the last 4 months. We originally bought the capsule as we could buy adaptors to go with our Joolz pram and the design looked quite smart as well in our car. As it turns out we only used the adaptors to go with the pram a few times when she was young so this is not a great reason to purchase.
We bought the ISOFIX model and after trying to install the base myself and being perplexed by the amount of play it h...
Don’t buy Isofix model
When the car seat was being installed by a professional installer it was recommended removing isofix feature as it wasn’t as secure as using seatbelt. Would not have spent extra money on isofix fixture if this had been known. Recommend checking with you installer before purchasing the more expensive model.
Convenient but difficult to tighten straps
It’s ok to carry and compatible with my car and pram. I found the straps difficult to tighten and both of my babies hated being in it for very long. Only used it for two months with both of them. They seemed to be secure in it and it was convenient when they fell asleep.
Cosy capsule that fits into popular prams
We purchased the Maxi-Cosi Mico AP Isofix based on the great online reviews that it has received, but we have found a fair few flaws. We fitted the baby capsule ourselves and then had the specialist check it to confirm. Apparently it is common practice to place 1-2 towels behind the capsule for a better fit in most cars - should the capsule not be better designed for this purpose? Also, a fastening clip was required to fix the seat belt, which really should come with the capsule. We were informed by the installers that the isofix mechanism wa...s inferior to the non-isofix version with our car, which is a fairly common issue and we paid $50 extra for the Isofix. Very disappointing. It's great that it fits into our Baby Jogger Elite pram with adaptors, but it is a bit cumbersome and heavy. The canopy could also be improved upon, along with the clip that secures to the long strap from the back of the car - seems a bit flimsy.
I found this capsule a bit heavy to carry. It was the only one compatible with my pram bumbleride indie. Also, not so easy to attach it on the base and remove it. It requires a bit of effort. They say you can use it for up to 6 months but we had to stop using it at around 4 months as baby outgrew it (and my baby is only 15 percentile!). It was great the first months cause my baby was very small at birth and she looked cute and comfy in it.
100% regret buying
I did a lot of research before purchasing this capsule. We didn't have one for our first child, but saw the ease of others who used capsules and so bought one for our second child. There is a major design flaw!
1. The seat belt tether strap: this is fixed to the back of the capsule and connects to the car via a clip on the headrest of the back seat. The seatbelt tether therefore stays on the capsule when you remove it from the car. There is a pocket at the base of the capsule's hood to store the belt when it's not connected to the car. Howeve...
Baby doesn't like it :(
The capsule isn't easy to get into the car and the safety harness hard to fit.
After buying the adaptors it's compatible however baby doesn't like being in it.
It was easy enough to install
Yes she fits securely into the capsule although she screams most trips, I've been unable to use with the pram!
I would only recommend this capsule for premature babies
I found the capsule very convenient at first. Easy to get in and out of car or pram. My baby would sleep in it for hours on long trips in car. But as she got older she began to hate it because of its increasing tightness and making her overheat just after 5 minutes in it. (she was only 2.5kg at birth but grow very fast) Also because it is rear facing car air con doesn't help. I found with just 10 minutes trips into town she would scream and her back was covered in sweat. My baby grow out of hers before six months. I would only recommend this capsule to parents with very tiny babies as it just gets to tight, hot and uncomfortable as your baby grows.
Capsule is good, after sales service for repair is terrible
We used the capsule for the full six months and really liked it. Our baby was comfortable and it was so convenient. However, the button to release the shoulder straps was faulty and needed replacement (didn't release property so was a real struggle to undo each time). I made the decision to wait until my baby was big enough for the next seat as the capsule had to be sent off and I was not confident that they would be prompt. After sending the capsule off two months ago I have received it back today and it has NOT been fixed. I called 'hire for ...baby', who are responsible for repairs on behalf of the manufacturer, and they told me the strap has been replaced. That has never been the issue. The button clearly needs replacing and we communicated that very clearly from the start. I am still waiting for them to get back to me. I'm writing this to warn other parents - if you do buy this capsule and need warranty repairs prepare yourself to have to wait. And given the capsule can only be used 0-6 months, that is totally unacceptable.
Difficult to use, hot, awful customer service
- I struggle to think of a single thing...
- It passes the critical safety feature tests on childcarseats.com.au (but didn't do well on other items)
- Baby can be moved in and out of car in seat with pram attachment (see the bad points re heat and adaptors)
- Rear facing so baby can see you in pram
- Whew! AUD400. Heavy hit to the hip pocket
- Only good for 6 months
- Difficult to insert/ remove/ attach to pram ...
Poorly constructed, the quailty isnt there as claimed!
Purchased a new one for my new born ( worst decision ever) for the price we paid it isn't worth. Poor construction, hard the line up with pram adaptors as the whole capsule flexes. If you want to remove seat belts for cleaning they dont come out easy at all which is a design floor for someone that likes to keep the capsule clean especially if the baby vomits! They are over rated and well over priced, cheap and not made for convenient cleaning or Manoeuvring . Very disappoint and not recommended at all, dont waste you money and do your research and inspection of quality, ours had sticks over the strap hole where it looks to be a miss cut
Not sure it was worth it
We bought the maxi-cosi mico AP as it was able to be used with the pram I wanted. Unfortunately given the weight of the capsule with baby in it (he was only 3.2 at birth) I couldn't lift it as was advised by midwife it would be too heavy and risk damaging pelvic floor. I relied on my husband to lift it in and out of the car for the first few weeks and then just took baby out of capsule and used the pram. We should've just gone with a car seat as baby got very hot quickly when in the capsule and would wake often when we got inside and out of the...moving car anyway. Also at about 8 weeks old he started screaming whenever being put in it. As we have two cars we bought another car seat and we have no problems putting him in that one. Baby is now 3 months and 50 percentile for height and weight and already comes up to the line indicating he is too big for the capsule. A lot of money spent and I wish I had just spent it on a bassinet for the pram instead.
There are a few features to this capsule that end up defeating the point of it, which is being able to transfer a sleeping baby from car seat, to pram and to the house and vice versa. The first is that when moving the handle from upright to behind the seat, it often gets stuck on the sun shade and is quite fiddly. The second is that there isn't anywhere to secure the anchor strap, and it often ends up falling into my son's face. Thirdly, it can be fiddly to click into the base or to my City Select pram. These three things often result in waking...my son up. He also hates being in the capsule, he cries as soon as I buckle him in because it is quite tight. I have to dress him very lightly to put him in it because it is tight and also very hot. Even since he was first born. The sun shade also falls back easily. If I were to be a FTM again, I don't think I would bother with this capsule as it is quite expensive for short term use and was not as convenient as I had hoped.
Great safety but base fail
We have had constant issues with the capsule not clicking into the base easily for 8 weeks. Some days it's ok and others I spend way too long trying with other people having a go to no avail also. This morning I have not been able to get it in at all and am therefore stranded at home. I can't take it back to the shop as I can't secure my baby to drive there so I'm stuck. Not happy!
Wouldn't buy it again
My daughter cries at once I put her into the capsule. She slept well only first 3 weeks. She is 4 months now (15%). Looks the capsule is too tight for her and too deep. She was born in autumn. Now it is winter. But I cannot dress her in any light jacket because it is too tight.
Pros: I like material.
Cons: The capsule make my baby crying all the time. Very uncomfortable and tight.

What reviewers thought
They found the Maxi-Cosi Mico AP capsule to be easy to use and comfortable for their children since they could transport them without waking them. It was easy to click in and out of the car, attach to a compatible pram and to keep clean. Sometimes, the fabric does not cool sufficiently on hot days, making them uncomfortable for babies.
