Extra head support
Lightweight and comfortable
Compatible with many strollers
Installation can be fiddly
Doesnt work well with all car models and can be loose
We followed all instructions to install correctly only to find it loose and floppy. eventually found lots of people had found the same problem online too. doesnt work well with some cars and the advice is to use towels to wedge it in so that the base doesnt move.
Purchased in September 2019 for $350.00.
Disappointed with this product
We purchased the capsule as the store we purchased it from said its a very popular capsule and well made.
We have had nothing but trouble
The hood of the capsule is flimsy and keeps falling down.
The strap that is connected at the head of the capsule is faulty the screw always comes loose and belt falls out. Very unsafe.
The straps always twist which is very annoying when trying to get a baby into the seat.
Very disappointed with this capsule as it is one of the more expensive ones.

Good Capsule - Faulty Hood
Mico AP capsule itself is a lightweight easy to carry capsule.
Compatible with a range of prams including the nuna. Easy click on and off. Lots of padding to keep baby safe and secure with little head movement.
Downside our one came with a faulty hood which would keep falling down which was very frustrating
Good for a couple of weeks
I found the capsule heavy and awkward to hold . I liked how compatible it was transitioning from Car to Bugaboo bee with adapters . Found it very easy to install . My baby actually hated this chair and would scream constantly. He grew out of it within 2 months . No comfy at all :-(
After days/weeks of research I picked this capsule only to be disappointed. It makes baby SO hot, the sun cover falls off the back easily when down and the handle makes a loud click so it wakes baby up when I get him out of the car. Also you can't move the handle with one hand which is annoying when I am holding the baby and need to move it. Even with the isofox being installed professionally the seat moves easily from side to side. For the price this is a bad product.
Baby hates it!
My baby does not get on with this capsule, trying to get her in and out is a struggle as the space is so compact and she overheats so quickly - she's always sweaty and red faced when we take her out no matter how much air con is on. I think the positioning leaves her feeling cramped and means it defeats the purpose of having it attach to the pram as we always have to get her out as soon as we stop. Attachment is easy so a real shame.
Steer clear - far safer seats readily available
I would not recommend this capsule. I wish I'd done more research on CREP.com.au, the website created by RACV & How Safe Is Your Car who crash test these seats. They give it one star out of five for safety.
Stupidly I bought it because it fit (poorly) onto my pram (Joolz Day and Bugaboo Donkey) with adapters. I thought all car seats were created equal. Not the case. Definitely check safety ratings. Meets Australian Safety ratings but only just. It took them ages to get these seats over the line to sell them in Australia. There are far safer ...car seats for your precious bundle. My 50th percentile son grew out of the seat at about four months because of low shoulder height markers and straps. Also, I had concerns about issue with top tether. Customer service was some of the worst I'd experienced. Disorganised and rude. Worst baby item I purchased, hands down.
I brought the maxi cosi capsule as the height marker indicators appeared to be higher then others on the market and I figured that I would get plenty of use from this capsule. However it was misrepresented when I read the maxi cosi handbook to find that the shoulders should never be higher then the harness, not the shoulder height markers. There is even a sticker on the side to outline this however, on my capsule the shoulder height marker sits about 5 cm heigher then the highest section for the straps. So because of this misrepresentation I no...w have a capsule that my 12 week old is at the maximum because his shoulders cannot go higher then the last adjustment. I feel disappointed that I chose this capsule overs. I feel that by putting the height indicators label higher then what is actually safe and reccomended was deceiving and unsafe for consumers. This should not be allowed the markers should only be placed to the heigh that is legal! It s light was and appealing Misrepresentation of shoulder height markers, making it unsafe to unknowing consumers.
I did a LOT of research before purchasing a capsule for our first baby. I decided on the Maxi Cosi Mico as it looked great, attached onto our Bugaboo Cameleon with adaptors, had reasonable safety ratings and seemed like a good choice. I was bitterly disappointed when at just 9 weeks old, my 50th percentile height and weight baby had already reached the top shoulder strap slots on the capsule. I contacted Maxi Cosi thinking there must have been a defect with my capsule as I know other babies had lasted up to 12 months in their capsules, but sinc...e I live in country WA, they could only judge by photo's if there was an issue, which they deemed there wasn't and that my baby was just too big for it. She was only 7lb9 born, 4.5kg when she had reached the top shoulder slots and still in size 000 clothing, not exactly a huge baby! I could have kept her in the capsule as she had plenty of room, but it is not recommended to have the straps coming from below the shoulder of the child for rear facing, so I sold it and purchased a Safety First One Safe capsule (ironically made by the same company, IGC Dorel) and my daughter still fits in the Safety First capsule now at 7.5 months old! I emailed Maxi Cosi again with photo's of both capsules side by side, of my daughter in both capsules etc and never heard anything further back from them. For anyone looking for a capsule for use as a travel system or just by itself, do yourself a favor and buy the Safety First One Safe capsule NOT the Maxi Cosi. You can use the Safety First capsule on Maxi Cosi adaptors (which isn't advertised, but you can - I do!) and it is nearly half the price! I wish I had never wasted money on the Maxi Cosi. Nice and snug for a newborn Only last 9 weeks here with average size baby. Very low shoulder straps. Expensive.
Would be good if the system was smaller...
I bought the Maxi Cosi Mico capsules for the impending birth of our twins as they are one of the few capsules compatible with the Baby Jogger City Select pram.
We bought a new, large station wagon specifically to accommodate the twins and all of the associated equipment, as a 4WD or SUV was not an option for us.
When we went to have the capsules fitted in the car, the installer knew straight away that they would never fit. He advised that the Maxi Cosi Mico is the longest capsule on the market, especially when the handle is pushed back into t...
Love the capsule, but thought it should last longer
I bought this capsule for the convenience, in that it attached to the bugaboo and would save me waking a sleeping baby. I also liked how it was not too heavy and fitted into my Mazda 3 better than a rear facing car seat. When I had it installed they told me that for safety the car seat straps need to come down over the shoulder, and that the hole where the strap comes out should never be below the shoulder. Well my daughter is now 9 weeks and is 5.5kgs and is now too big for the capsule - there needed to be more seat adjustments! What a rip o...ff, now I have to go and buy a rear facing car seat which I had hoped to avoid doing, and don't think I saw the value in the short time she fitted into it. Others seem to say it lasted 6 months, but unless they are not doing the straps correctly I don't know how this is possible... Light, looked good, compatable with bugaboo, bought extra bases online so used one capsule but had bases in both family cars and at the grandparents house Grew out of seat too fast

I have just purchased a Maxi Cosi Mico Ap capsule and have had it professionally installed in my car. I have a Mazda 6 and finding that the tether strap to loosen & tighten sits under/behind the head rest and I need to open my boot everything time I’m wanting to get it in and out the car.. is there a way of shortening the strap that is attached to the actual capsule?? Thanks

What reviewers thought
They found the Maxi-Cosi Mico AP capsule to be easy to use and comfortable for their children since they could transport them without waking them. It was easy to click in and out of the car, attach to a compatible pram and to keep clean. Sometimes, the fabric does not cool sufficiently on hot days, making them uncomfortable for babies.
