Extra head support
Lightweight and comfortable
Compatible with many strollers
Installation can be fiddly
I honestly only used maxi cos I capsule so I can't compare but I guess most of them are not light to lift normally. I purchased all black. Love the design. Easy to clean and handle but my baby didn't like it at all. I was planning to use for about a year but couldn't even last half a year since she cried so much. Once she's in a big car seat, she's happy but I assume she just wanted forward faced.. It looked a bit squashy even though she was a premmie.. It is totally up to babies. I generally enjoyed using the capsule.
Great car seat for INFANTS!
Amazingly easy and cute capsule! Been very handy for the first months. My baby is 3 months and I'm sure in a month he is outgrown it. One more thing, it is a bit stiff, the paddings are not so soft. So for 3 -4 months its a great buy!
Good price for midrange capsule
Bought this from Baby Bunting prior to the birth of our second child. The price for the mid range model was about $150 less than other baby stores. After playing around it appears that it will be easy to remove and attach to our pram. Easy to install and ready for baby to arrive.
Love this purchase!
I did a lot of research before buying this capsule and I loved using it! Clipped into my pram perfectly and straight into the car which made it easy, stylish, safe and easy to carry. Never had any issues and baby was snug as a bug! I would recommend this
Sun canopy doesn't click in
We are very happy with this capsule - not too heavy, easy to take in and out, and extremely practical for Parents With toddlers.
However , we have had an issue with the sun canopy - I assume this is meant to click in and stay in place once you open it??? because ours keeps falling one way or the other and ends up on baby's face sometimes. Hope someone can help.
Nice lightweight capsule. fits in our car only in the middle unfortunately but thats our cars fault not the seat I guess. Fits onto our pram easily with adaptors. The capsule base was hard to install, required my husband to use his whole body weight to hold it into place while placing the seatbelt through but I guess if this is what has to be done to make it the safest thats fine.
My second daughter was in this seat until 8 months old :)
Light and Easy to Use
We have twins, so having to carry two of these sometimes, its a breeze. Not that heavy with the babies in them. Very compact, our twins love seating in these carriers, whereas our first born didnt like any carriers. No problems installing into car, and easy to get in and out each time. Very secure.
Easy to use
Love how easy it is to go between car and pram with the correct adapters.
Can be slightly awkward to carry at times especially as bubs gets heavier.
Compatible with a few different brands using adapters, I'm using with Baby Jogger City Select.
Isofix was super difficult to try and fit in my car so the professionals fitted it with the seatbelt option.
Child sits in seat well but it does get quite hot and sweaty for them.
Light and very useful
I decided to get the Maxi- Cosi Micro AP as i had gotten the BabyJogger GT, and wanted to make a travel system. Read reviews of how some babies did not like it or will cry, my baby cried initially, but after a while ( 2 weeks) she got used to it. It is light enough for me and my wife to sometimes just carry it out with baby inside to cafe's, and love how it clicks on to the BabyJogger GT ( you need and attachment for that ). think it weights about 4.7kg or something. My wife who had a c- section was able to carry it too without much problems. (...She told me she went to the doctor and just carried the Capsule cause it was so much easier) Baby is now 2 months but still fits in it and think she might be in there for another 4 more months. I got it from David Jones when it was on Sale.
Guaranteed sleep for my baby
We hired this capsule in January and will be returning it in a couple of weeks and purchasing a convertible car seat. Our son loves this seat and combined with the movement of the car, would fall asleep in the first 5 minutes without fail. The main thing I don't like about this capsule is the weight. I'm a petite person and found this heavy. As my son has grown it's made getting the capsule in and out of the car a challenge. In the last couple of months I've resorted to leaving it in the car and carrying my baby to and from it, having to wake h...im up in the process, but saving my back. When he was much smaller we did take it out of the car and attach to his pram. It does take a little bit of practice getting it in and out of the car but once you know the angle, it's easy. The sun shade is very flimsy and the safety harness gets in they way of it. The seat padding is a catch 22 as my baby was very snug in it, but on a hot day it's a sweat box. I haven't got any experience with other baby capsules and assume I'd probably find most of them heavy and awkward to carry. Hiring this capsule for 7 months cost us a fraction of the retail price ($235). Thankfully we didn't have any car accidents so can't say how well this capsule would protect a child from serious injury.
Handy for the first two months or so
My newborn hated to sleep. He would only sleep in my arms or in this capsule! He did 2-3 hours at times which is a lifesaver when you are sore and sleep deprived. It looks so comfy and the slight incline is great for a reflux baby. Nice to be able to move a newborn around too when they are so fragile if you need to go somewhere, especially with the pram adaptors. As for cons - expensive yes. Heavy once the baby gets heavy of course - not good for birth recovery! and my 25th percentile baby is 3.5 months and it's a tight fit already. Regardless of the cons it was worth it for me if I can use it for two kids and resell after.
Great capsule! Lasted longer than my old one
This is a great capsule. It's comfy and my bub (who is quite tall) lasted 5 months in it. My daughter barely lasted 2 months in our old capsule. Bub enjoys beinh in it and falls asleep very easily in this capsule. As with all capsules it's great being able to bring bub in and out of the car without waking him. I also got the adapters to attach it to my pram. It's life saving! There are a few cons. The capsule gets really hot in summer. It's a very heavy capsule and it takes up a lot of space. We don't have a small car but we still had to push t...he passenger seat all the way forward. It also took a while to get the hang of getting it into and out of the car. Clicking it into place in particular took a lot of practice. I had a premature baby and I also couldn't get the straps tight enough around him to start off with. And finally it's very expensive. If you were buying it to use for more than one kid it'd definitely be worth it. Just watch out for hot weather!
Good capsule, happy I bought it
We bought the Maxi Cosi Mico AP Isogo capsule for our son & have been overall very happy with it. Our son was premi & is very small for his age. We have used it for the last 10mths however, he has now outgrown it. I mainly bought it as it was compatible with my Uppababy pram.
Easy to click into base & remove from base quietly
Easily adjustable harness
Nice & roomy for Bub
Compatible with several pram systems (usually with adapters to attach)
Very easy to click into Uppababy pram with adapters
CONS ...This is a very long capsule - I have a Mazda CX-5 & have to have the passenger seat pulled quite far forward for the capsule to fit behind. Nowhere to store tether strap when it's not in use Canopy can fall back quite easily Quite expensive however, I feel I will get good value as will use for next child Installation instruction manual is VERY confusing Despite the CONS which were mostly minor grievances, I am happy I bought a capsule as it allowed me to travel easily with my baby especially in the early days. This capsule clicks quietly in/out of car base & pram which allowed my son to sleep through shopping/car trips. as we have been able to use it for a decent period of time with our son I feel it has been value for money.
For a capsule it ticks all the boxes.
With our little 5 week premi bub we will be getting a lot of use from his first car seat. It is very easy to put him into and also attaching the seat to the base unit is also great. Due to the design there is very little disturbance to bub. The pram attachment ( baby jogger mini GT ) ia also great to use and looks awesome too. Happy to buy again if ever needed.
Wish I had this for my first bub!
My first bub screamed his way home from hospital in one of those Birth-4yrs adjustable Car Seats until we pulled over and I held him in my arms in the back seat for the remainder of the journey. I avoided car trips at all costs for months as they were too stressful. Wish I'd had a capsule.
- Baby looks oh-so-comfortable and peaceful, she sleeps soundly.
- With adaptors, it clicks in and out of our City Mini GT with ease.
- Expensive for the short-lived use (many babies outgrow the seat seat within weeks/a few short months).
Very happy with this capsule
I purchased this car capsule for my son (first child) and I have been very happy with it. I read the reviews where people were not happy with it and I have not had that same experience. A few times bubs has fallen asleep in the car and I have lifted the capsule out and he has continued to sleep, ppl often remark that he looks cosy. We bought an extra base for our other car so that hubby and I can swap cars as needed. However I do find that it's hard to pull the tightening strap when the capsule is already locked in the base in the car so I usua...lly put bubs in the capsule in the house and then carry him out to the car. I also find it a bit hard to put the capsule on and off my bugaboo pram but maybe I am not doing it correctly. My advice would be to ask the sales assistant to show you step by step how this function works. Easy to use, move from car to car just need an extra base, lift out if bubs is asleep Bit hard to tighten using the pull strap when in car
I bought this for my first bub. I found it so handy getting him sorted in the house first for a couple of reasons - firstly I live in FNQ and I loved that I wasn't putting him in a hot seat in the middle of summer, secondly it took him a while to warm up to being in a seat so if he was upset we could rock him in it for a few minutes before we left. Obviously it has the benefits of not disturbing sleep as well. I loved the ease of clipping him straight from car to our BJ City Versa. He wasn't disturbed in the process. I think the price is a litt...le steep and only bought mine because I found it for $340 delivered. The positive is they do resell well. The negative is my son, who is 50th percentile has only lasted four months in it. By this time I've found it far too heavy to carry anyway. But would I buy it for the second? Absolutely! It's definitely an item that makes life a lot easier! Good quality, handy, resell value, travel system. Didn't last long, got too heavy to carry, expensive.
Love this capsule
A great purchase, I purchased this capsule at the mid year sale time for my second son and regretted not having it for my first. It is just so much easier to leave the baby sleeping whilst taking my eldest to day care and not have to disturb my babies sleep in the process. The capsule is very snug for any babe and light in weight to carry, it was very compact in my Quinny Zapp and fitted in the back of a sedan easily.
Inexpensive given it is near new to sell on eBay. Lightweight and compact with the Quinny Zapp. Brilliant not to wake a slee...
Love this capsule!
We bought a capsule because i love to use them with newborns, for ease of transport from car to house and back etc. I dont feel comfortable with the vulnerabity of a newborn in your arms whilst negotiating stairs etc. Also helps when you have older kids and enough other things to carry! The Maxi Cosi was our pick for baby 2 as we had upgraded to a Baby Jogger City Select pram and my Fisher Price Capsule was a huge job to install to the pram each time. Where the MC just clicked in! Has a great length for shoulder straps, great padding for head a...s well as arm, crotch straps. Easy to put baby in and out, easy to adjust straps, easy to connect to my BJ Select, just one click! Also simple to remove from car. Is lighter than the others i looked at (fisher price/safensound etc) Comes in Red so matched my pram (for vanities sake :)) Has nice high handle and rocks slightly for when on floor not in pram or car. I needed an extension strap, however that is because we have a Landcruiser Wagon. Didnt rate quite as highly on some safety reviews as other capsules, however i felt the calculated risk was worth it, as we have a wonderful car with a roll bar at the back seats for extra protection, and simplicity of my daily use was critical to me... Also, as we have had bigger babies i wanted one that had a higher weight limit... Light, Easy to use, Easy to wash, Simple to attach to BJ City Select, Higher Weight Limit Shorter crotch strap, Shoulder Straps dont extend enough, Mid Range Safety Reviews
Does a great job
I found this capsule easy to use and my baby used it until 8 months as she hadn't grown out of it yet. I did need a replacement base though as it stopped clicking easily and I had to struggle to get it in place or just leave it clicked in and take the baby out which defeated the purpose of it. Instant service was difficult and a lot of leg work and phone time was required by me to avoid sending it away and having no capsule for over two weeks. I then had to wait about two months for the replacement making it very stressful in the end as I could...n't click it in and out easily. The replacement was fantastic though and made life much easier again. Fitted on the pram. Baby could stay sleeping no matter where we were. Slow and difficult service when there was a problem with the base.

I have just purchased a Maxi Cosi Mico Ap capsule and have had it professionally installed in my car. I have a Mazda 6 and finding that the tether strap to loosen & tighten sits under/behind the head rest and I need to open my boot everything time I’m wanting to get it in and out the car.. is there a way of shortening the strap that is attached to the actual capsule?? What reviewers thought
They found the Maxi-Cosi Mico AP capsule to be easy to use and comfortable for their children since they could transport them without waking them. It was easy to click in and out of the car, attach to a compatible pram and to keep clean. Sometimes, the fabric does not cool sufficiently on hot days, making them uncomfortable for babies.
