6 Month Update re Maytronics Pool Robot (aka 'Wall-E') – Follow up from our earlier review re the Maytronics Pool Cleaner. We've now had the unit for 6 months and continue to be impressed by its willingness to push through and work hard to keep our pool clean whatever the weather or time of day. In summary, the unit does a good (not great) job of the coverage in the pool and will clean approx. 90 - 95% of the floor and about 70% of the walls, in fairness we have a vey odd shaped pool which won't help! We need to run this 2x as a minimum pretty much every day & so far so good, with no major issues. The unit is easy to operate albeit there is no mapping or planning function which would be helpful. Cleaning is a bit of a chore and a little fiddly as you have to completely open up the entire system and clean each filter individually , but this is a very small gripe tbh.

The unit is also quite heavy, and so although no problems for me, others may find this an issue? My teenage son/daughter find it hard to pull the unit out of the water, but even if it were half the weight they would still find some way to complaining and try and get out of doing the pool cleaning anyway!

I'm always keen to see how well a product stands up 6 - 12 months after purchase & this is especially true for a pool cleaner which we knew would take a battering. We paid more for a Maytronics unit and are glad we did as we feel other units we not be as robust or work as well. The unit remains in good condition, albeit there are now quite a few scratches where it has been pulled out of the pool and rested against the edge whilst the water drains away, no issues with the mechanics or the cords & sensors.

I summary, still very happy with 'Wall-E' our super helper, can definitely recommend to other readers...
