Why does the cord coil on itself and then twist itself. It’s the one thing I hate about this machine.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Adam. When a robot’s cable is tangling, we recommend ensuring that the robot enough slack in the cable to reach the entire pool. It is also recommended to try starting the cycle at a different location as the Dolphin’s scanning pattern will take it in a different path every time. Cable maintenance is also an important step in ensuring the life of the cable. To maintain a cable and to keep it in their its most optimum condition, it is recommended to set the power supply on the deck as close to the centre of the pool as possible and to only put as much cable in the pool water as is needed to reach all corners of the pool. The remaining cable should stay neatly rolled up on deck. Once a week, disconnect the robot's blue cable from the power supply, untangle and straighten the cable from the robot upwards and lay it on the ground (in the sun if possible), for 30 minutes prior to rolling it up and when storing the cable, circle it into big loops. Which is the fine filter? The paper ones of the mesh ones?

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Ingrid. The spring net filter, of which is recommended for larger debris such as leaves, appears as a mesh-like filter. For finer debris, such as dust, the ultra-fine filter is recommended. This filter appears as small folds. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team at customercareau@maytronics.com for any further assistance.

Can i please confirm a product number or is there only one?

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

There are two caddies available. However, one is suited to the Dolphin S-Series and the Dolphin X-Series and the other is suited to the Dolphin M-Series. The dealer will be able to advise as to which is the correct caddy for your Dolphin X30.

Hi, I’m considering the X30. The pool is 12m x 5m. There are wide steps at on end but the top step only has a couple of inches of water depth. Would it climb onto the top step and burn out the motor or is there some way to avoid that? Thanks.

I think the X30 will work fine. My pool is 11x4m with lots of steps, some wide some not much water above them. It knows if its above the water line and will drop down and not stay above the water. It won't get all of the steps but will do a fair job of the wide ones. I just throw it in and sweep the steps into the pool and let it get what it can. Still saves me HEAPS of time. You will probably need 2 runs of its 2 hour cycles to get all of pool your size but thats easier than manual scrub yourself. I always use the ultra fine filter in it, with pump running. Water is crystal clear. Cheers.

Thanks so much for that advice. Much appreciated. Keep safe.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Diane. The Dolphin X30 is able to comfortably clean pools of 12 metres in length. As steps are not always guaranteed due to variance between pools, should the robot climb the steps and reach the top step, it will function until the impeller detects that it is out of water and will then climb back down.

I’ve just bought an X30 and its initial clean was great. But how long does it run for? Does it automatically switch off?

clan b.
clan b.

Hi Adam
It runs on 2 hr cycle and then switches off.
You can then turn off and start again for another 2 hr cycle if first cycle didn't clean everything.
I have an 11m x 4m pool and need to do 2 cycles for it to get everywhere.
Cheers

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Adam. The Dolphin X30 has a two hour cleaning cycle. Once the cycle is complete, the robot will stop and can be removed from the pool so that the filter basket is able to be removed and cleaned. We have a pool that gets many leaves from our neighbours. I am unsure whether to get S300i or X30. Would love some advice thank you ;))))

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Nic. The main difference between the Dolphin S300i and the Dolphin X30 is that the Dolphin S300i is Bluetooth and smartphone compatible and the Dolphin X30 is not. The Dolphin X30 comes with both filter kits, spring-net for larger debris and ultra-fine for finer debris, of which are able to be interchanged within the filter basket as required. The Dolphin S300i also has a filter basket of which is fitted with the ultra-fine fine filters. A rough, net filter sits within the filter basket to allow for dual filtration. Can you leave the Dolphin in the pool like the polaris. i don't want to lift it in and out every day. Just want to automate it and forget about it

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Artie. It is not recommended for the robot to “live” in the pool for any extended period of time or when not in use. However, for short periods of time, such as a few days or a week, this is generally fine for a robot to stay in the pool. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team via email to customercareau@maytronics.com or on 1300 693 657 option 2 for any further information.

Can an automatic timer for repeated daily cleaning, be added to the X30 Dolphin?00

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Trevor. As the power supply for the Dolphin X30 is not compatible for setting a weekly timer, this function is unable to be set. However, there may be a different model of power supply of which is compatible and is a separate purchase. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team via email to customercareau@maytronics.com or on 1300 693 657 option 2 for any further information.

Hi I have an x30. Is it normal for the power supply pack to stay on blue even when the cleaner cycle has finished

Sheila N.
Sheila N.

The blue light only shows there is power at the outlet. There is no feedback from the machine to let the power pack know the cycle is finished. Just like any power point it is better to turn off the switch before unplugging.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Ryan. The power supply will remain on and its lights illuminated after a robot has finished its cleaning cycle until it is manually turned off from the power outlet. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team on 1300 693 657 option 2 or via email to customercareau@maytronics.com for any further information.

My Dolphin X30 has problems with fine dirt and dust. It pulls it up from the bottom fine but then immediately releases it through the top. All the side filters are clean.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Pat. The Dolphin X30 comes with an ultra-fine filter kit that appears as small folds. This filter type is best suited for finer debris, such as dust. If this filter type is currently being used, it may require soaking in warm water and mild dish-washing detergent to shift any ingrained debris. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team on 1300 693 657 option 2 or customercareau@maytronics.com for further assistance.

What is the difference between the Dolphin X30 and the S200? Which is better for fine dust?

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Stuart. The Dolphin X30 and the Dolphin S200 are the same with regard to functionality and build however, are distributed differently. These models will both come with an ultra-fine filter kit of which is able to filter dust. As this filter kit is standard with both models of robot, they will both be able to filter the finer debris in the same way. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team on 1300 693 657 option 2 or via email to customercareau@maytronics.com for further information.

Joergen B

Hello. I have a Dolphins X25. Does it stop automatically when it climbs on the very shallow step of the pool and the top part looks out of the water? I noticed this a few times, but it was just in the water for 10 - 20min? Thanks, Joergen

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Joergen. A Dolphin robotic pool cleaner has a minimum depth requirement of .8m in order to function as this ensures that the impeller is completely immersed in water. When the impeller detects that it is out of water, the robot will either continue to function for a short time and turn itself off or, it will makes its way back under water. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care team via email to customercareau@maytronics.com or on 1300 693 657 option 2 for any further information.

How does the X30 compare to other ranges such as M400?
I have a 16,000L fibreglass pool with a 40cm wide ledge down one side.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Marcus. The Dolphin X30 is a lightweight, yet robust, single drive robot and the Dolphin M400 is a larger, heavier, dual drive unit. As they have differing mobility systems, they in effect, function differently. We recommend a demonstration to determine the best suited model and to understand how a robot could potentially function in a pool prior to a decision being made. If you are interested in scheduling a demonstration, please submit your details at external link . Hi. I have a dolpin x30 which works for about 40 minutes, then stops. I get it going again and it works for about 15 minutes then comes to a halt. I have checked the impeller which has no hair etc, also checked the treads and they are ok. I have looked at the rollers and can't see anything in there, but when I turned it upside down, there was a bit of resistance while trying to turn them, but they did turn. Our pool is quite slippery as it has been resurfaced with fibreglass. The power light doesn't go out during these episodes and it does restart if you press the button.Any ideas on next move before I spend more money on it please. Thanks. Alison

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Alison. Have the side plates been removed from the Dolphin X30 to inspect the drive tracks? There are four tabs inside the robots chassis, two at the front and two at the back, of which hold the side plates in place. These tabs release the side plates to check for anything that may be obstructing them. Should this confirm that nothing is obstructing the drive tracks, we do recommend the robot be assessed. Please contact our Customer Care team with your robot's serial number, location and postcode to customercareau@maytronics.com and they will advise of the closest dealer that is able to further assist.

We just purchased a X30. Wondering why it doesn’t climb our pool walls? The pool is brand new & is a in ground. It’s a tiled surface. It just sits at the wall & spins

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi WY. Maytronics robots are designed to maintain a clean pool and general pool maintenance is still required. Robots also climb approximately every four minutes and in between this time when the robot comes to a wall, it will climb approximately half way. Water chemistry is vital in the ongoing maintenance of a pool and can also play a part in a robot’s performance and its ability to gain traction. It is recommended to have the water tested regularly to ensure chemistry levels and pH levels are within their documented ranges. Should chemistry levels be outside of their ideal ranges, the surface may become slippery. Following a full water test and the pool balanced, where required, a manual brush down of the surfaces to ensure any slipperiness has been attended to will allow the robot to then be able to maintain these areas on its own. Please do not hesitate to contact us via reply email to customercareau@maytronics.com or on 1300 693 657 option 2 for any further information or assistance.

Hi
I have an x30 is there a recommended way to clean the fine filters?

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi David. Filters are able to be removed from the frame of the filter basket and rinsed under a tap to remove any debris. Filters are also able to be soaked in cartridge cleaner or a mild dish-washing detergent and warm water to assist in the removal of in-grained debris. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team via email to customercareau@maytronics.com or on 1300 693 657 option 2 for any further assistance.

Maytronics   DM

Hi Catel, We would recommend the X30 for a vinyl liner pool. Should you wish to discuss this further please don't hesitate to call us on 1300 693 657. Kind Regards Dee.

What are your thoughts on leaving the X30 under water permanently, as in cleaning the filters after a session then returning it to the water for storage? We have an external skimmer box that it can sit under so it can't be touched during swimming sessions.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Sheila. Whilst robots are designed to be in a pool, we do not recommend that they remain in the pool for any extended periods of time or when not in use. It is also recommended that a robot be removed from the pool prior to the pool being used. Please do not hesitate to contact us via reply email to customercareau@maytronics.com or on 1300 693 657 option 2 for any further information.
