Great vehicle
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)Have had my TF BT50 GT for 2.5 years and 62000km, mostly highway driving and almost no off road.
I have not had to do any repairs other than 3 windscreens, which is no fault of the vehicle as I seem to be a rock magnet at the moment.
Good fuel economy. I get 8 litres per 100km which ever way I drive although I don't tow.
Andriod auto works perfectly.
Comfortable on long trips.
Still have the original tyres and I think I could get another 10000km out of them as long as I rotate.
Quiet when cruising but as others have said if you put your foot
Love this vehicle. A great all rounder.
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)Love my Mazda BT50 GT. I sold a 2017 ISUZU ute with low kms (traded it for more than I paid!), a VW Touareg V8 and Porsche Boxster. All great cars but I got sick of cleaning them, insuring, servicing etc etc. I live in the bush and wanted a comfortable, reliable, tough, off road capable vehicle with lots of storage. Purchased my Mazda from Ron Doyle Motors, Mazda Dealer, in Eden, NSW in March 2021. Best car I have ever had - maybe other than the Porsche! Great service. I have done about 30,000kms. Ron Doyle Motors are professional and organise
... Read mored. Service required once a year. Considered similar Isuzu X-Terrain but did not want it due to its rear sliding canopy. The Mazda is a great all rounder. Has a bit more bling. Got MAZDA bull bar, a Mazda rear canopy, ARB light bar, tow bar, 3.5 tonne towing electric brakes, a TJM rear steel bar (no one else seems to make them. TJM excellent), gas lifters for tailgate, and especially a fully sealed addition to the canopy (NO dust or water gets in) - excellent. The car is easy to drive (my wife loves driving it), lots of luxury with leather and large sat nav etc. The adaptive cruise control is excellent. My only initial concern were all the lane departure warnings, sensors etc and the car pulling you back into your lane. At first I found this annoying but after nearly two years I now realise these safety features are in fact just that - safe. I do a lot of country driving and it is amazing how good the safety features are. I can carry five people at a pinch, four is better. But for my wife and I it is excellent. Put the rear seat down and fill that space up as well as use all the space in the rear. I sometimes tow a two tonne boat which is a dream. I would not want to tow 3.5 tonnes! 2.5 tonnes ideal. 3.0 tonnes at a pinch. I have put good quality off road tyres on it after 20,000kms. Much safer than standard tyres. Overall the car is a great buy. Amazing I could sell it for more than I paid! A terrific purchase. It has never missed a beat.Canopy Leaking
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)Purchased mine in January had a 6mth wait before taking delivery
Canopy rubbers not fitted correctly rear window of canopy not squarely fitted water leaks into tub area
Canopy not fitted to squarely to the tub
My concerns are where was quality control on the manufacture of the canopy
On inspecting the canopy by the dealer they have found that the seals were not fitted correctly the canopy measurements are out of spec up to approximately 20mm in places.
My concerns are where was the Pre-inspection before fitting and after.

Rear Tub leaking heaps
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)Brand new with canopy, first day not under cover when rained and whole rear tub flooded soaking drawers, fridge, multiple tools including my electrical gear and already wasted over 6 hours on the issue with other visits needed. MY QUESTIONs
1. when a canopy is put on any Ute should it let water in from any location? Not dripping - Full puddles.
2.should a tub (without canopy) be sealed and welded throughout or do they normally have gaps between floor and walls where daylight and rain and even my middle finger can fit through

Great Ute - when it's working!
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)2021 BT-50 GT - purchased late 2021
I have very mixed opinions about this vehicle
I love it when it's working correctly and not sending me flying into my dash from the Automatic Emergency Brake coming on for sometimes no reason whatsoever that is visible to the human eye. It even goes off when you're going down a minor dip on a regular road. Adjusting the sensitivity does nothing to remedy this. And then there's the Lane Keep Assist - but Mazda have remedied that at least by mapping it to the steering wheel for easier access (if you ask for it
DO NOT BUY A MAZDA BT50 GT WITH LEATHER SEATS OR ANY MAZDA
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)I purchased a Mazda BT50 GT 4x4 Dual Cab on the 24.08.21
In December 2021 I noticed in the middle of the drivers seat there was a small area where it appeared that the seat had some sought of coating that was lifting or coming off.
By January 2022 the area had increased to roughly the size of a dinner plate.
The car was 4 months old and travelled only 4,900k’s
I’m a Senior driver who takes a lot of pride in my cars It is not a work vehicle.
I took it to the selling dealer who was more then helpful and took photos etc and ask me what did I use
Very disappointing. Regret purchasing.
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)This is a dangerous vehicle that every prospective owner should be aware of before buying. The lane assist tries to steer the vehicle and driving is a constant fight with the system and steering wheel, It takes all the pleasure out of driving an otherwise nice vehicle. The lane assist can be turned off but resets back on when the vehicle is stopped and started again. I am told by the Mazda dealership that Mazda are aware of the problem and trying a software fix. The same applies to the same year Isuzu D Max. Going into the menu to turn the lane assist off is a mission on its own as is simply getting access to the menu. I am disappointed with the electronics of this vehicle.

BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)The car is used as a weekend commute and workhorse / play vehicle as well as towing rig for the caravan. The capabilities of this vehicle is astonishing it has so many safety features and handles very well in any situation I have put to it , it is amazingly comfortable and an absolute pleasure to drive. I have been a Master Technician in the Automotive industry for 20 plus years and practicing Mechanic for 34 Years and I am yet to see a better vehicle for aesthetics and capabilities, except of course its counter vehicle The Isuzu Dmax , after many a long year as a Motor Mechanic i am rarely impressed by many vehicles, Hoever this one does it all for me.

this ride is as rough as bags. too many sensitive alarms.
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)We very recently bought a 2021 mazda BT 50 GT to replace our 2018 hilux SR5 which had been written off by another motorist in a head on. While the BT50 is a beautiful looking car and it is now our family transport I am sorry to report the ride is horrible. It is rough and you feel every bump -even the very minor ones. the roads are terrible out here so i expect some roughness but this ride is too rough. it is our 10th 4WD vehicle in 40 years (because the roads in south gippsland are that bad!!) and the roughest ride i've ever had. I Have let
... Read moredown the tyres and am now looking to put some serious weight in the back to smooth out the ride. I hope it works. On the drive to the 1000km first service an alarm of some type went off 5 times on the way there (a 70 km journey on all types of roads!) and the same on the way back. scares the --- out of me when it goes off. how is this helpful? there is no altitude metre. useful on hill country. sorry just really disappointed.2020 BT50 towing holiday Vic to WA and return.
BT-50 4x4 3.0L GT (2020-2023)I have just completed a caravanning trip from Melb via Adelaide to Perth over about 3 months covering about 10,000ks with my new BT50 towing my 20 foot off road full size caravan. Very impressive Ute. The tech is great for towing, lane keep is gold and makes towing with a side wind so much easier and adaptive cruise is excellent. Averaged at best (sitting on 90kph) 14l per 100 k and at worst 18l per 100ks, considering my van sits high and is a 20 foot long 3 ton brick, I’m very happy. Very comfortable sitting for long periods, quiet and plenty
... Read moreif torque when needed, just ticked over effortlessly. Issues: Wireless Apple CarPlay can be slow to connect Very rarely it will start to brake for no reason on cruise control, but this was rare and wasn’t sudden or scary at all. The cameras drop out to re calibrate when I hook my caravan on or unhook sometimes, this is normal due to load variance. Auto locking can be annoying at times as sometimes it doesn’t lock if you haven’t moved away immediately or you can lock your passenger in at servos and the alarm sounds if they then try to get out. The cooling system randomly turns itself onto recirculate so it needs to be constantly checked. All of these are minor issues, overall an outstanding vehicle, very happy.Questions & Answers
BT50 GT 2020. At 24000K, been in Mazda 2 1/2 weeks with what im told is leaking front Crankshaft seal. Special tools from Japan on loan needed for job.
Has anyone else had this problem with the Isuzu 4JJ3 engine.
Thankyou
Frank F.
Like previous statements, the battery on my vehicle will go flat after about 2-
3 days. 10 minutes on a charger and all ok.
Have had a couple of new batteries fitted. On one battery test it showed up as dead and yet still started the vehicle, mechanic couldn't believe it. Voltmeter shows a 14.2 volt charge when running.
It was suggested that it may be the alternator.
Another gripe. When we first bought the BT50 radio reception was very good. Now unless close to a station not much reception at all, leaves a lot to be desired. Was wondering if fitting a Kenwood Stereo upgrade would do the trick.
Thanks for reading.
Worst radio reception ever.......
Do you have the Electric Roller Cover. I had the same issue where my battery went dead after a couple of days. Turn out the factory electric roller cover was draining battery even when turned off. Mazda ended up installing a new electric roller cover
