Took out my home loan with ME 12 years ago and have had no trouble with the service received. I have negotiated reductions in interest twice during that period and the process was professional and timely.
Very average customer service
I have been with them now for some years but find them particularly average in their customer service. Long waits on the phone ("due to overwhelming demand....") when we all know it's about cost cutting. This bank is supposedly owned by unions and industry super funds which is good but from the customer point of view there is no difference. They couldn't care less and are no better than Westpac, NAB etc. Any letter or email I have written to them has been ignored. I think it's time to move my loan as they aren't even that competitive.
Robbed, then received apology and company action corrected
I had 11,800 in redraw facility. ME reduced it unilaterally, with no apology, explanation or contact. Waited over an hour to get a rep on the phone. Told I could apply for a top up at a cost of $250 to get access to more money. But it’s my money, not theirs. Using that logic, ME should be paying me $250 for “borrowing” without my consent, the money I had placed in the account surplus to requirement to pay the loan.
Following the public outcry, ME bank contacted me both in writing and by phone, apologising profusely for their ill considered ac...tion. All my concerns were addressed and ME Bank has undertaken to replace the moneys taken from my redraw facility. This has resulted in my regaining much confidence in a financial institution that I had been very happy with prior to the events of the last couple of weeks.
MEBANK COMES TO THE RESCUE
I have had my ups and downs with ME bank but that's due to the many changes over 20 years. However I have just sold my house and if it wasn't for my WONDERFUL mobile lender in WA the home loan would not have gone ahead. There are 4 houses settling next week and only MEBANK did what it was suppose to ANZ is holding us all up and we nearly lost our settlement date because of them. If you don't get the answers you are after with MEBANK from over east ask to speak to a mobile lender in Perth they are superheros and made good on all their promises. PS I am on a pension which is now very hard to borrow on but Mebank was one of the few that would lend to me (not one of the 4 big banks would) Thanks
Great/easy refinancing as a new customer, absolute nightmare when you discharge the mortgage
Mebank were one of the easiest bank to refinance and sign up with. Even when they got their rates wrong, they were prompt to rectify the fault. 5 stars for the sign up and interest rate, they were very good!
However, all good things must come to an end, unfortunately we had to refinance and it was sad leaving a great bank. The mortgage discharge team was poor, probably insufficient staffing. Their lawyers (Galilee) were poor in communication, the discharge took them over 40 days to complete. What annoys me the most is that after 3 weeks of refinancing with the new bank, Mebank still cannot generate a account closure letter!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 star
Didn't know what to expect however I have been pretty impressed and highly recommend
My wife and I were looking for a affordable no frills home loan for our existing house. We have been with them now for over 2 years and couldn't be happier. The application and approval was straight forward. Online banking is really easy and any time I have needed to call up they have been more then helpful. Been a great all round experience so far.
The bank Home Loan Department is highly professional with wonderful customer service.
Last month due to other bank delay, my IIA seemed impossible for last financial year. I called the bank and never thought it can be done at such short time, but half hour later the Bank told me that they can do it. The bank staff worked so hard and guided me each step. At 30 June, I was so happy, the transaction went through successfully. Thanks for the whole team.
Great bank, highly recommend
I love this bank minimal fees, great customer service, I should've joined them sooner you're not just a number with this bank
Fast credit card approval.
Applied for a ME Credit card. Was approved within 24 hours. Am in the process of applying for a personal loan. Seems to be moving along pretty quick. Good communication. So far i am very happy with customwr service.
Very Slow Loan approval
We have many different accounts and loans with ME. Overall a good bank rates are good. However don't apply for a loan with them unless you have all the time in the world. No urgency with ME. they need to get in the real world, their tardiness has almost lost us our property purchase. The vendor has extended our cooling off period twice and will not a third time. we may lose our deposit and the property.
Best rates around
After really researching for refinancing our home loan I chose ME bank, and we are very happy. Moved our bank accounts over too and they are so much better than any of the big banks or local credit unions I found. The service from the mobile banker and their customer service centre has always been excellent too.
Great rates, great phone service, was very easy to organize
There was a long delay in getting loan happening, though they admitted it was an internal fault and apologized then auctioned it very quickly
The bank was set up to help Australian workers pay down their mortgages without fat profits and they are backed by industry super funds so they aren't going anywhere. I can't say enough about the bank and can't understand why people gripe about the corporate bastardy of the big 4 banks when ME is available to them. I bank with the industry superfunds bank, and invest my superannuation in the fat 4 banks. win win. Dead set you're mad to sit with one of the big banks.
Members equity is our third mortgage provider after 2 of the big 4. The ME brok...
Fast, fair and helpful
After an ugly divorce with some financial complications that weren't my doing, I had to refinance the house into my own name. Despite good credit and over 50% equity, my status as self-employed put me in the too-hard basket for other lenders, who took forever to make a decision and then wanted to charge extortionate rates.
I was referred to ME Bank by one of their customers, who is very happy. I met with the mobile lender and put in an application. One week later, I had approval. The week after that, I had a contract. The third week, it set...tled. They are a joy to deal with - always helpful. I'm very impressed and would recommend them to anyone. Fast approval, mobile lender was extremely helpful, took time to understand the whole situation
Aside from the actual products being simple to use, high interest earning and extremely low on fees, the customer service is by far the best of any bank I've ever been with. The staff are more than happy to help and spend time with you for whatever enquiry you have. I have no plans of switching banks again after dealing with the breath of fresh air that is ME Bank.
Excellent customer service and access to my accounts via phone, internet or friendly Branch staff. I have not encountered a fee on my 2 savings accounts because there are very minima...
Being a customer with ME for 14 years, I am quite happy with the bank. highly recommend to friends and relative. Only recently when applying a second loan, the mobile lender was helpful and provided good service but did show silent signs for rewards. I did not know how much I should gave him, so I kept quiet. After that my application met many unexpected and strange questions. Finally it got approval but these bossy staff forced me to pay LMI even ME hold my 2 house titles, I and my spouse have 2 regular employment income and 1 rental income th...at is enough for other banks would approve a bigger loan without LMI. I am reluctantly thinking of leaving. Absolutely no fee banking; excellent customer service over the phone; easy and securely banking on the net; ATM now can be used via Westpac & St.George Nothing that I dislike. Even its interest is higher than many non bank lender, but has always been lower than the big 4
