Have been shopping with Mecca for 5+ years they have now lost a long-term customer
As a long-term customer I am really shocked to see how Mecca has slowly been falling behind other retailers online and physical stores. Customer service do not respond to complaints and for this reason I began shopping at Sephora and online store Active Skin which both offer a lot more than what Mecca offers and much better prices/loyalty programs.
The Xmas casuals Mecca hires need proper training, I was in store a few weeks ago when trying to find the right foundation shade the girl told me to look through all the foundation colours myself ...until I found a colour I liked and she would give me a sample. Being on my lunch break I just wanted a quick colour match, she told me she could not provide this as it the colour match is subjective. I have never been told this in any cosmetic store before I was shocked, so I sifted through the foundations to find one I thought matched after getting the sample and trying it on at home it was about 2 shades too dark for my face and too yellow. I am terrible at picking the right shade which is why I asked for help on this, after this I went next door into Sephora where the girls could not be more helpful showing me multiple foundation brands, spending time finding the perfect shade and showing me how to find the right shade and giving me multiple foundation samples to try the new brands. Safe to say I am now a Sephora convert after being such a loyal Mecca customer for years. I am saving money, buying better products and getting much better service. The beauty loop boxes are hardly anything to be excited about as a level 3 member that previously spent $4000+ per year (crazy I know, tried everything for acne) the boxes are not worth spending any more money for they provide stuff that is normally a free sample as some kind of loyalty reward when you can get any of these samples just by walking in and asking. Mecca has nothing special anymore and if they don't have their customer service they will need to compensate with lower prices given that most brands can be purchased elsewhere in Australia now.

Some stores are too small with not enough employees to deal with the traffic, but I have noticed they are upgrading and making stores bigger which is great.
Wish they had a rewards system like Sephora though, as Beauty Loop isn’t quite as good. I do enjoy the Boxes, but I get free samples with Sephora regardless.
