Mecca Cosmetica
Online store, Physical store, Product Range (See All)I’ve been ordering more from Adore Beauty recently (because c’mon, loads of samples, tim tams, and amazing delivery - plus great benefits on their loyalty system!), but thought I’d go back to Mecca for a couple of products as I love Sunday Riley, plus new Charlotte Tilbury collection - and they’d sent over the beauty loop box email. Only to log in and realise they are unable to send any samples or boxes at this time, plus delivery delays due to demand - and quite a few products out of stock with no delivery date. I had only received my beauty l...
Read moreoop email two days prior. Mecca, step up your game. We’ve had covid and lockdowns for almost two years, you understand the new market reality and demand, this is intensely disappointing and just pushing my entire share of wallet back to Adore Beauty.- 3 reviews

In order to return a product, you would need to CALL Mecca’s customer care and wait on the line from 20 plus minutes. Once the products are shipped back they will take up to 10/15 days to process your returns. Even though Aus Post notifies you that your return has been delivered to the destination in two days. Also refund returns in store in not an option unless you’re happy to exchange only. This process is purely designed to stop people from returning products. Other competitors like Sephora and Adore beauty has instant online forms to process your returns without making you feel like you’re on the line to Centrelink. They need to up their game.

I’ve been a long fan of Mecca even before I knew what BL points were.
So couple of things that has changed recently that disappointed me and a lot of my close friends.
- the consistent Nars Orgasm sachet samples. There seems to be no rhyme or rhythm and customers are getting the same left over $2 Nars sachet that isn’t even usable more than one application. Let alone we have over 5 Nars blush palletes with orgasm in them.
- price increases are drastic. A $351 perfume is now $390+ within a matter of 4 weeks?
How is this even rationally allowe...
Read mored during covid ? With stores being closed and Mecca not having to pay their employees, isn’t the price supposed to be the same or lower? - Other competitors consistently give 15-25% discount and sales but Mecca keeps increasing prices monopolising their customers goodwill.I have made two orders in the last few weeks spending close to $200 each time. The first order I made, I received an email the very next day reminding me not to forget my chance to redeem my beauty loop box expires soon, yet there was no option to add that to my order. Last night I made another order and received an email today stating that I receive a free gift with my next order as it’s my birthday soon. Yet again, there was no option to add this to the order that I made. This is extremely disappointing, get your act together.

My initial impression of this store was favourable. The door greeter was friendly and she referred me to a makeup consultant to match foundation to my skin colour. The makeup consultant was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. We eventually found a shade that suited me and she recommended a particular foundation as being extremely hydrating, assuring me that it wouldn't sit mottled on my skin like the cheaper supermarket foundations. The item cost $97 and I had high expectations for that price. The initial application of the product in store...
Read more seemed promising. I popped back the next day to find a lipstick and the consultant who approached me was unable (or perhaps unwilling) to help me find a shade to suit me. She basically told me to pick out shades that I liked and then I could try them on, but I had just told her that ones which I liked by sight rarely suited my complexion. Clearly it was all too hard for her and she wanted to move on to someone easier so I guess I'll be sticking with my Rimmel lipstick which costs about $8 from Chemist Warehouse. I have been using the $97 foundation all week but the item is no better than the supermarket type which sell for under $20. It certainly doesn't feel as if it has hydration added to the formula. Very disappointed and I will not be returning to this store to purchase anything again.- 3 reviews

I've purchased the Nuface Device in March, after using the product for a while I had serious skin allergies to the machine/ serum. So I emailed the customer service, who stated I had 90 days to return the product (which didn't indicate 90 days from the purchase date) which to my understanding I thought it meant 90 days from 13th of May. Due to quarantine and health conditions, I couldn't physically return the products to the store. I've tried to contact again today, only to be told I can no longer return it, as its 90 days from the purchasing d...
Read moreate. I would assume if a beauty product caused serious skin issues to the customer, the company should be responsible. I've been purchasing my Mecca for years, however, I'm extremely disappointed with how this issue has been handled. The customer service person pretty much said it's my own fault for not returning on time (when I've explained numerous times about my personal situation and the quarantine restrictions). Also, the email was unclear about the date. At a difficult time like this, it amazes me how Mecca shows no understanding or sympathy to a loyal customer.- 4 reviews

I find things on Mecca are so over priced. They should have discounts like Sephora. They hardly answer the phone in store. However, they do have beautiful products. They really need to allow Australians to have a discount because I’ve purchased a lot of items through other stores like adore beauty and catch of the day for half the price. Will only shop here if I need an item.
Good and bad--but don't count on getting your Beauty Loop Rewards, even if you spend the money...
I've been mostly please with Mecca up until now: the staff are always helpful in store--love that. I'm part of the Beauty Loop program that promises rewards for shopping exclusively with Mecca. For the lower level boxes, I was given one or two successfully--until I got to level three.
Got the email to say the boxes were ready, but was sick and couldn't get into town for a week after that. I would have shopped online, but the colour of lipstick I wanted isn't available online, and the last package was late by at least two days, so I thought it ...
Read morewas worth waiting until I could get in. Which is fine--until you get into store and they don't have any of the boxes left (how can you "sell out" of a bonus you promised to people for loyalty-shopping with you?) The counter girl told me "oh, you can get it online" but when I tried, there was no option for that. Called them, and they told me "we've sold out online"--which again--? how do you sell out of rewards for the people who are spending the most money in your store? I'm really disappointed. I don't love spending heaps of money on cosmetics, but I have rosacea skin and this was the only way to take care of it; by spending a lot on one particular face cream. I figured I might as well get the rest of my cosmetics there since there was a rewards program. Thankfully, I can source the *one* cream I'm not allergic to from elsewhere, and I will happily give my money to people who, even if they don't promise rewards for loyalty, at least won't be lying about it. To recap: Mecca instore staff is great, but I'm not very pleased with the online "service" or the fulfilling of their "rewards" system, which is apparently not catering for all their loyal customers. I recommend going in store for help and samples until you find what you want, but wouldn't recommend them for the long haul once you know what you want. Spend your money elsewhere. (I know some people will read and think "entitled much?" but to get to level 3, you're spending AT LEAST $1200 at Mecca for every counted period (thanks, rosacea!). I think that giving out the rewards they promise is the least they can do)I walked into the Charlestown Square store and asked to be matched to the correct shade of MAC Studio Fix Foundation. Despite my pink skinned Irish convict roots, the sales assistant looked at my wrist veins and told me I had warm toned skin, so I was matched to shade NC20 (I think). I made the purchase and walked out. Drove 3 hours home (as I was only in Newcastle for the day to get my car fixed), tested the shade and it was waaaay too yellow/orange for my skin tone. I wouldn't have been able to wear it without looking like an oompa loompa lol...
Read more. Maybe the girl meant to give me shade NW20, I don't know. As I was too far away to return the bottle for a refund, I had no choice but to flush the $54 spent down the drain. It's self-matching in-store for me from here on in.Find out how Mecca Cosmetica compares to other Services

Staff was highly rude and very unhelpful with service, was told to look for the items myself. It appears to be a culture in Mecca organisation, other stores are very similar. With former workers complaining its inherent from upper management.

Went to Chadstone Mecca and received one slight smile. I was clearly looking for something. Store nearly empty more sales assistants than customers, yet no one asked if I needed help. Just walked out and ordered online from another supplier

Shipping takes too long for a product that is within Australia. I can order from Sephora and get it to me in 2 days but Mecca takes far too long.

Too rigid a policy regarding Customer Service...more Like Lip Service only.
Asked for a sample of foundation to be sent with my last order (not dispatched before I contacted them)
prior to ordering a $75 foundation for help decide on the colour....a store is way too far for me to go to and I dont drive with no direct bus service either. No help from them regarding the issue..answer was for me to order and they will accept return and a credit or exchange is colour not suitable. I also live 10 km from a PO...for a large company this is pathetic in my opinion. I have no complaints about the actual product (Nars) just the distributer. Do not think this is service at all!
Certainly disappointed in Mecca.
I have loved Mecca for a really long time they sell really good quality product the staff are really wonderful and have a lot of knowledge. I was told by one of your makeup artists that Mecca does not do sales items they believe in their product and don't feel that it should go on sale. I have not seen many sale ever in store up until recently only online at Christmas
I purchased an eyeshadow palette for my Best Friend and it was actually on sale I think originally it was $100 I purchased mine for $70 and put it in my present box. I wrapped i...

Have been shopping with Mecca for 5+ years they have now lost a long-term customer
As a long-term customer I am really shocked to see how Mecca has slowly been falling behind other retailers online and physical stores. Customer service do not respond to complaints and for this reason I began shopping at Sephora and online store Active Skin which both offer a lot more than what Mecca offers and much better prices/loyalty programs.
The Xmas casuals Mecca hires need proper training, I was in store a few weeks ago when trying to find the right foundation shade the girl told me to look through all the foundation colours myself ...
Read moreuntil I found a colour I liked and she would give me a sample. Being on my lunch break I just wanted a quick colour match, she told me she could not provide this as it the colour match is subjective. I have never been told this in any cosmetic store before I was shocked, so I sifted through the foundations to find one I thought matched after getting the sample and trying it on at home it was about 2 shades too dark for my face and too yellow. I am terrible at picking the right shade which is why I asked for help on this, after this I went next door into Sephora where the girls could not be more helpful showing me multiple foundation brands, spending time finding the perfect shade and showing me how to find the right shade and giving me multiple foundation samples to try the new brands. Safe to say I am now a Sephora convert after being such a loyal Mecca customer for years. I am saving money, buying better products and getting much better service. The beauty loop boxes are hardly anything to be excited about as a level 3 member that previously spent $4000+ per year (crazy I know, tried everything for acne) the boxes are not worth spending any more money for they provide stuff that is normally a free sample as some kind of loyalty reward when you can get any of these samples just by walking in and asking. Mecca has nothing special anymore and if they don't have their customer service they will need to compensate with lower prices given that most brands can be purchased elsewhere in Australia now.Questions & Answers
Wondering how my friend received a $100. Gift card and a tube of sunscreen without contacting your company?
has anyone bought the Veldere Radiance + Repair serum? my dermatologist gave me a sample and I'm trying to find where to buy it online, please help
Hi Susie. Mecca doesn’t stock Veldere. You need to buy from Veldere directly online although I think they are out of the serum at the moment.
Do you have a retracting lip brush?
