I have peace of kind knowing iam covered for everything life throws at me. I have compared with most insurance policies and medibank stuck out for me. Good customer service
Just had great experience over the phone, Nicholas was the attendant and was very helpful to backdate a suspension due to overseas travel. It’s the first time I had an insurer being helpful instead of using every opportunity to make your life hard, so big advantage there!
We lost a child and wife had to undergo a d&c procedure. Medibank made us to jump a few hoops to make a claim, we put the claim multiple times and we got 0 dollar reimbursed. It's not as if it's painful to have that incident, Medibank made it even worse by refusing a valid claim and blaming it on to the hospital.
Medibank rep approached me and helped us to resolve the issue. The claim went through and it was helped to untangle the miscommunication between the hospital and medibank. The customer rep Annete was very humane and gentle while helping us. Thank you.

A guy buy the name of Eric called me as was requested he was brilliant he answered every question tat needed answered the policy he arranged suited me perfectly. if shopping around for a policy ask for Eric perfect solution.

I've recently change my private insurance to another one due to my employer subsidise the other funds (and a higher level of cover).
During the time with medibank, claiming is easy (I claim my max. for dental/optical). It does takes longer than expect for them to close my account and provide the certificate, but the refund of premium is quick.

My partner has undergone surgery, no complications. Just had to pay for the Excess which is to be expected. We have claimed online via & via hi-caps terminal the app for our massage, physiotherapy, dental, orthodontics and podiatry with no problems. Always receive the reimbursement within two weeks of submission. The only thing I have to claim manually was our bill for the exercise physiologist. The only thing I do not like about the extras cover for Pharmacy -Can not claim anything that is under $50.00 - I found the pharmacy part in your extras and a waste and not useful. Even if you have a product you purchased for $60.00 the reimbursement is under $10.00 not much at all. Other then that Medibank has been good.
Surprised to see so many negative comments here, never claimed anything super major but so far pretty good with a day surgery in a private hospital and fully covered apart from the gap fee.
Never had problem calling for inquiries, not sure if this is because I’m with the corporate platinum cover? Anyway.. thanks to the team with their excellent customer service.

So blessed to have this hospital coverage as I have had heart problems which I didnt know I had and all it has cost me is the $500 surplus.

I didn't end up getting a policy with Medibank because HCF ended up giving me a better quote, but massive props to the guy on the phone - Stephen (Steve?) Foden - who gave me all of the required info, genuinely took the time to understand my situation, and was perfectly polite and continued being friendly even when I informed him that I was going with HCF.
If anyone from Medibank is reading this, please pass on my thanks again to Steve! If it hadn't been for HCF's lower quote I would've gone with Medibank, and I'll have Medibank at the top of my list for switching if HCF doesn't deliver.

Been with Medibank over 7 years, and so far our experiences have been pleasant. However, premiums keep on increasing tempting us to use the insurance more just to justify our payments.

Great cover for years, but then I found something cheaper so I moved to bupa.
I never had a problem of any kind while I was a member and went to hospital several times, including two obstetrics admissions. I would not hesitate moving back at all.

My membership with medibank is over 30 years never had any claim issues from many couples & family hospital submissions. Now in our 70'$ and have always held top cover.
I wish that they would delete pregnancy from our cover and lower the gold top rates with no excess. I have investigated many other funds including reviews ratings etc and have again decided to stay with medibank private.no current claims so far this year.
Lucky I got the right Medibank staff who was absolutely helpful
I was so frustrated last whole week as whenever I rang Medibank no one was able to give me the right answer regarding my cover, and question regarding a cancellation and reopen within cooling off period case etc. After many days waiting long time on each calls, about 10 different staff at Medibank spoke to me and nothing happened UNTIL finally today I got the right person Smita, she got everything right for me and finally got my case corrected. she is apparently knowledgeable, experienced, very patient look into my questions, and capable to g...ive the answer and understand what customers want, as well as very good phone manner. Customers are not stupid though usually after few sentences talking on phone we pretty much can feel and tell this CS capable of helping or not or still under training. I have been with Medibank more than 8 years, I upgraded my cover from Core to Standard and finally get it done right through Smita. I do hope Medibank can also upgrade their staffs level to Smita's knowledgeable level so that you don't often get so many ONE STAR (actually zero star as ONE star is the minimum option) review!! Again thank you Smita. I am currently waiting for another staff Jason's email who is following up the case, hope everything come through ok per already confirmed on phone . Sincerely, Nadia

My husband has throat cancer. We can have the operation immediately if we pay the specialist $5000. Could we get any kind of medicare rebate on the amount as we are both elderly but in otherwise good health. My husband is in pain and the waiting list has lengthened due to the corona virus.
Well I take it you don’t have private health cover, I did and was basically forced into public If your catagory1 like me they said we must do within 30 days perhaps sera a more sympathetic doctor and beg him to get to catorgy 1 they cannot watch him die

Why do medibank doesn't have claims via email? It is always not possible for us to go to stores or post at this stage and submit our claims. It would help customers if you have some generic email to submit claims which other insurance companies offer like BUPA?
