Terrible Company to deal with
Ordered several blinds on 6th August this year. Had rung several times to find out where my blinds were as the sales rep told me it would take about 3 weeks to make them. I have been told a bunch of lies every time I would call. Yesterday I rang and was told that the material for my roller blinds was no longer available, and my venetians were only partially made. No one from this Company called me to let me know what was happening. I asked for a refund, and there was no argument from the Receptionist, but guess what still waiting for refund tra...nsferred to my Bank A/c. Tried calling again today, but got an answering machine. There is serious concerns with this Company. I would say they are getting the quotes done, taking deposits, but not doing the work. Very shonky. Do not touch this Company under any circumstances. I will be talking with Dept of Fair Trading, and possibly a debt collector.
highly recommend company to deal with
I need some blinds so a friend recommend and the staff were so nice in they helped me choose the right fabric in describing my layout of my house and i'm so happy with them.the service was excellent and I will be letting my friends and family know that if they need blinds or security upgrade for there homes I will be saying to them go to menai blinds i couldn't recommend highly enough with there good honest service .
Brilliant Company to deal with
The staff helped me out greatly as I was selling my mothers house after she past away. They where prompt and chose fabric in stock so I could have it finished quickly. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.
Lies and more lies from a terrible company
Ordered a plantation shutter door in early January 2015 and fully paid for it. Here we are just about to roll into July and still no door. Lie after lie is all I'm getting so 3 weeks ago we cancelled the order and instructed that funds be re-deposited onto our credit card, guess what still waiting!
Staff refuse to take our calls, the owner [name removed] refuses to answer his phone and the receptionist if you can call her that must have been trained in how to fob off customers.

A horrible company to deal with.
My elderly mother ordered blinds back in February 2015. By April she had to call them to find out what was happening. There was no real explanation, and no apology but was told they would be there soon. It took until April for the blinds to arrive for installation.
On the day they arrived they installed the outdoor blinds but my mother was informed the material she had ordered for the indoor blinds was not available. She was not informed at any stage during the previous 3 months of waiting that her material was not available. The man gave her...
Very disappointed and still no blinds
I used Menai Blinds approximately 7 years ago, as recommended by a family member who is a builder and who used them on numerous occasions. Very happy with the service I received so decided to use them again as I have 2 new windows to dress.
My experience this time, from the beginning, was nothing but disappointing.
Incorrectly quoted....I found this out after I had already paid my deposit, but I agreed to pay the extra as I understand people can make mistakes.

Worst after-sale service you would ever experience
We bought not one but four sets of window shutters from Menai Blinds in 2010 - 2011. I believe they were made in Thailand. A few slats split where the screw goes in, just from general use not an accident, and towards the end of 2012 or 2013 (not sure as it's been that long) I asked them if they could replace them as they were within the warranty period. A rep came out and had a look but said it wouldn't be until the new year. A couple of months passed and I called and was told they weren't available, and they would get back to me. Well, it's no...w 2015 and after numerous calls and emails since then absolutely nothing has happened! It has been the most recalcitrant, disdainful, indifferent, disgusting service I've ever experienced from a business, and I'm in my 50's. Follow-up calls and emails to them have got nowhere. They didn't argue, they just didn't do anything. They asked for dimensions of the slats which I gave over the phone to the receptionist. After a few weeks no response. I called back. Could they have the dimensions of the slats? I said I already gave them to you! I emailed them this time. Again nothing. My calls and emails either haven't been returned or responded to, or when I did get through to the manager, he just came up with pathetic excuses and waffle. Eventually someone came out and guess what, they brought the wrong slats. He actually took a slat from the shutter and said he would get the right ones and come back. Didn't happen. They still haven't even returned that slat much less given us the replacements and we still have a t-shirt covering the gap. I finally contacted Fair Trading late last year. They spoke to them and a new person did actually call me and she said they'd had a bad year with a death in the family and staff shortages, as if that was to excuse their behaviour. She told me they needed pictures of the damaged slats as the manufacturer insisted on them, and they mightn't accept liability per their policy. I did that and she said they needed more pics from different sides. I emailed back saying they should honour the warranty for a few lousy slats after the amount of time and hassle they have caused me having to chase them repeatedly, or at least offer a solution to the problem, even charge me for the damn things. I asked her to tell me what it will take for them to return the slat they took and get me the new ones - what will it take? This was a few weeks ago. No response. I got back to Fair Trading last week and left a message for the case officer in Newcastle but he didn't get back to me. Called again this week and was told he was unavailable. I told the officer who answered the phone the story and he said the file is basically closed for now, we can't make them do anything and you will have to go to the Tribunal. No surprise there, eh. I haven't decided whether I can be bothered but I may. As a community/consumer service, I feel I should say DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MENAI BLINDS! Save yourself the hassle I've gone through. After sales service - nil. Interest in keeping a lifelong customer - nil. Interest in just doing the right thing - nil. If you do decide to deal with them anyway, good luck if you want something fixed after the sale.
