F79 Fault 4 months out of warranty
I purchased the G6620 model dishwasher in November 2018, its now March 2021 and the F 79 fault appeared 4 months out of warranty. I am now in contact with Domayne to try and get the dishwasher fixed, and find a "Remedy based on my consumer rights" under Australian Consumer Law. This is the 2nd Miele dishwasher I have owned, the last one had a similiar fault and lasted 7 years, which is at least better that 2years. Very disappointed in the product given that i spent over $2000 on a so called quality product. The dishwasher has been very well l...ooked after, the filter is cleaned regularly, the dishes are wiped off or rinsed before going in the machine as we are on a biocycle septic system. I love the style of the dishwasher and the tray at the top. Up until today the machine has been very good, but now this problem which is a major repair. I am very disheartened by the quality of this machine, I do hope that Miele and Domayne will fix the problem. I will wait to see how they respond to my requests either the repairs or replacement of the dishwasher.

Great Machine when it works
When the machine works it is great. Cleans really well and is very quite. Machine installed 7 months ago. The error code F78 displayed and the machine refused to work. I contacted Miele emailing them. Two days later had not heard from them so rang. Booked a service that originally was not going to happen for 10 days but they were able to slot us in earlier when someone cancelled. The dishwasher worked when the technician came out. He did not do any testing (we now understand if he had checked the log using the diagnostic computer he cou...ld have identified the problems). Machine broke down again two days later. Booked another service. They did testing and picked up problem and said needed to order parts. We have been told the parts have arrived but can’t be installed until a technician becomes available. We now have not had use of the dishwasher for 5 weeks with no indication when we will see a technician. Miele keep saying that as it is under warranty we don’t have to pay. I just want a working dishwasher. Thought we would get more than 7 months from the machine before we started having trouble. Update. Miele contacted me directly. Apologised for the trouble we had been having. Had a new dishwasher delivered and installed and the broken one taken away. New machine has worked perfectly ever since. Well done Miele for apologising and fixing the problem. I would buy from them again.
Wished I had read the reviews before purchase.
We purchased the machine July 2018. Problems started within the first 12 months; received the F78 error code. We followed the recommendations and the machine continued to work. During the last four months, we have regularly received the error code F78. Contacted Miele, it was going to be 8 days before a tech could review ($179 call out fee). Contacted another electrical service provider (whom Miele often distribute work to) and the tech was able to come today and reviewed the machine; a quote for the pump will be provided. After reading pr...evious comments on this page, we do not want to risk paying $500 - $1000 without a guarantee. We will wait for the quote, but we will not be spending $500 on this dishwasher. We (foolishly) did not look at the reviews on this machine prior to purchase and like other contributors, expected at least 10 years of hassle-free machine performance based on the Miele "promise". We are extremely disappointed with the machine reliability. We will not be purchasing another Miele appliance.

Miele Dishwasher F78 error after 3 years, will never buy Miele again
Purchased Miele Dishwasher (model G 6620 SCU) in August 2017 for $1,699.00 and hoped to get years of trouble free service but unfortunately the dreaded F78 error came up after 3 years. Contacted Miele service and after being on hold for ever was advised that it would be a week before a Miele technician would come out to have a look at it. Anyway, organized for a technician to have a look at it and he advised the circulation pump has failed and will need to be replaced, the repair bill would be about $1000. There is no point in spending so much ...money on the repair, our previous dishwasher was less than half the price and gave us over 10 years of trouble free service. Apparently this is a very common fault with the Miele dishwasher, I have seen number of posts from other users who have had same experience. Very disappointed with Miele.

NO MORE MIELE
Bought it at 2017, just 3 years, it shows F13, but we do everthing we and also ask the plumber to have a look, but it still doesn't work. The plumber said is the circulation pump problem. I contact with Miele, they need more than one week to arrange a technics ! I also saw it might cost 600 dollars, if I have those money, I can buy a new one, no one can gurantee the fixed dishwasher can work how long.

F78 F78 F78 and F78 error
Had this Miele G6620 for 3 years, until it stopped working with F78 error that can't get rid of. Cleaning the filter and circulating pump impeller to no avail. However, the Miele dishwasher had cleaned the plates well comparing with our previous Asko that lasted 15 years. Will steer clear of Miele..

We will never buy anything with Miele logo on it!
We bought the dishwasher 2.5 years ago. It stopped working the other week. Since it is out of warranty I found a former employee of Miele to come and have a look at it. According to the technician the circulation pump needs replacing. Contacted customer support , they offered to send a technician at $179 for a visit plus $30 for every half hour after the 1st 30 minutes plus the cost of part (around $600). I was advised by the retailer that Miele circulation pump has a 10 year warranty. Sent an email to complaints department and got no reply . Shocking service and even worse dishwasher. I will never ever buy anything from Miele again!

Not buying Miele again
We had 7 year old Miele front loader washing machine and dryer which were behaving perfectly, so when our 15 year old Kleenmaid dishwasher died we decided to go with the Miele G6620 SCU. Purchase of the dishwasher was in May 2017. Since that time the front loader died, broke it's heavy metal spindle arm off completely. Didn't have any concerns about the dishwasher, it was washing beautifully, very quiet, couldn't be happier until about 10 days ago when the F24 light came on. Only advice in the instructions is to call a Miele tech.
Warranty ra...n out May 2019 therefore we now have a service call of $179 for first 30 minutes, $34 for every 15 minutes thereafter plus parts. Canstar Blue Australia advises expected dishwasher life is 8 years. Given Miele's proud boast of longevity of products, they either need to rethink their boast or rethink their product. I'm very unhappy and won't even consider Miele for replacement appliances again.

A bit disappointed.
I’ve always had Bosch dishwashers and loved them. As we were building a new house with the kitchen in the living area I wanted a super quiet dishwasher. I have friends with Miele dishwashers and I’ve had to put my ear against them to see if they were running. This machine however is noisy. I can hear the water splashing and the motor whirring. Also some of my cutlery came out as dirty as it went in. I am really disappointed that I spent so much extra to get a Miele and it’s worse than the Dishlex we had to use while we were renting during the build process. I’m wondering if they forgot to put sound insulation in the door. I feel ripped off.

Set up impossible
I took receipt of the dishwasher and needed to adjust the height. However the instructions for doing so are only in diagrams and inaccurate as to how the back legs are adjusted. The instructions appear to offer two options; 1) using a torx screwdriver or 2) pushing the bottom of the leg with a screw driver. Option 1 works with the front legs bit there is not torx screw on the back legs and the attempt to turn the leg with a screw driver doesn't work. The legs are firmly fixed in place and won't adjust.
Ringing support didn't help either. They...very unhelpfully sent me an Operating Manual on how to use the dishwasher. If only I could. Update: Mea culpa! I recently wrote a review about how difficult it was to adjust the back legs of the machine for height adjustment. After talking with someone at Harvey Norman, I got it right and realise the problem I was facing was all of my own fault for not understanding the picture instructions. The fact is that the back legs adjust using the front screws! Very convenient and much easier than what I thought I was meant to do.

This Dishwasher has faults - but Miele have kindly helped me with the issue
Bought a G 6620 SCU to replace our Miele G 1142 SCU which we had for 11 years until the mother board died(previous other brands lasted longer). The G 6620 SCU fitted precisely into the same space, even the fixing screws lined up with the original holes. BUT beware-this new dishwasher has a door opening feature which opens 20 minutes before the cycle has finished to let out steam, which is destroying our timber work-make sure you have stainless steel or similar protection on the sides of the cabinets. The bottom wire mesh tray also has removable parts that keep falling off-I won't buy another Miele.
Update - a Miele representative got in contact with me, and showed me how to change the program so that the door doesn't open on each cycle.

Happy with our Miele G6620 SCU Dishwasher
The Miele G6620 SCU is an excellent dishwasher. I was initially apprehensive about spending so much, but it washes very well for both normal dishes and pots and pans, is quiet and is of a high quality. We highly recommend this machine.
The best yet
I purchased this dishwasher in Sept 2018 to replace my ailing Bosch. It is the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned. I love the cutlery tray configuration as it is so versatile. The quick power wash suits all but the most soiled, baked on pots and dishes. The longer washes are great for dealing with the more heavily soiled items. The drying is excellent, especially the way the door automatically props open and continues the drying cycle with the fan still going. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase. In addition the salesman at Bing Lee Belconnen was very helpful in showing the features of the various dishwashers and was not at all pushy.
We love this dishwasher so much.
Our old dishwasher died and we couldn't decide whether to get an ASKO or a Miele. We went with an ASKO which was a total fiasco, so once our refund was sorted we bought this Miele dishwasher, and I don't think a day goes by where my partner and I don't remind each other of how much we love it. It looks great in our kitchen, but it's not just a pretty face.
The cutlery tray is excellent, and the design of the drawers is great. We are constantly amazed at how much we can fit in, and big or awkward items that never fit in our old dishwasher go...in easily. It is super quiet, we never have to worry about bursting hoses, and my favourite feature is how it opens itself a crack after it finishes - I never knew I needed this feature until we had it! The ASKO we originally chose had 'touch' style buttons with no tactile feedback which usually took a few presses to work, which wasn't something we realised we hated until we had to use it. This Miele has nice solid push buttons - simple is good. Dishes have always come out sparkling clean no matter which cycle we've used. I don't want to complain about anything on this dishwasher as it doesn't deserve it, but if I had to find something, the bottom drawer rolls so smoothly that it's easy to send a full drawer of plates crashing to the back of the dishwasher if you're not careful.
- G 6620 SCU (Built-Under)
I've had this dishwasher for 5 weeks now. It replaces a 15 year old Miele dishwasher which I gave to my son (and which is still working perfectly). I am very happy with the new dishwasher. I have tried various programs on it (automatic, intensive, eco), as well as the shorter intensive option on one program, on loads of varying degrees of food encrusting, and have found everything comes out perfectly clean. This model has a cutlery tray, which I find very useful. The centre of the tray can be lowered if necessary for larger cutlery items.
T...he machine is so quiet that at times I've had to lean down and put my ear near to the door to determine if it was actually working. The only time I hear anything is when it is discharging water down the drain. Other reviewers have commented that in their experience the bottom rack doesn't hold large dinner plates. That is not my experience. I have had no problems stacking any of my crockery and pots. The buttons on the front are easy to use and self-explanatory. They include the options to delay start and also to use an intensive, shorter form of all programs except the eco program. As I have always done, I rinse off the worst of the food scraps before loading crockery and pots into the machine but I don't go to extremes. The machine cleans everything with no problems, including melted cheese from dishes like macaroni cheese. I particularly like the fact that the machine partially opens the door when it is finished (this is configurable but is on by default). This means that everything is completely dry when I unload the machine. I have no hesitation in recommending the machine. As with all my experiences with various Miele products over many years (washing machine, dryer, oven, range hood, induction cooktop), this machine is top quality and works perfectly.

Love it and easy to reinstall front
Had an old Miele dishwasher for 15 years that broke, brought this one as we needed the salt option and an Intergrative front. The front was very easy to install and so was the dishwasher. Would highly recommend, especially if replacing an old Miele making it easy for me to do.
The Best Dishwasher
Should have bought a Miele the first time.
I have owned a German Bosch and an ASKO dishwasher and both brands have absolutely nothing on this.
Extremely Quiet. The Wine glass holder in the bottom rack is very convenient. The plates stack perfectly if you know how to stack a dishwasher.
11/10 Wash Quality. The Automatic Cycle is amazing.
I run the dishwasher either before I go to work or before I go to bed and every-time I go back to the dishwasher the Dishes are DRY! AND CLEAN!
FAIR - UPDATED
We upgraded our 17 year old Asko for no other reason than the wife wanted Stainless (see our fridge purchase also!) We paid $2000, for a Swedish built machine instead of $1500 for the Czech assembled machine. We did have an open mind and our Asko had been brilliant. The manager at Harvey Norman did warn us that ANYTHING built today will not work as well as something built 17 years ago... and at the end of the day he was right. We have had issues with cleanliness of the cutlery shelf at the top with them coming out with food stuck between the li...ttle fingers that they sit in. The biggest disappointment is the length of the programmes. Up to 3 hours..... even the short quick programme is 54 minutes and does not heat the contents on completion so they do not dry and shine. It does the job but disappointed that you pay that extra for something 'special' only to be disappointed. I note they are down to $1750... no surprise. it is a nice quiet machine compared to our old Asko. UPDATE : Dec 2018 - a cherry pip got thru the filters and stopped the impeller. The service technician arrived and we discussed the performance which after 12 months is still about FAIR. I mentioned that we paid an extra $500 for a "made in Sweden" model instead of the Czech model. He advised that the model currently on sale for $999 has exactly the same internals as ours. Basically there is no difference between the 2 models...but the company thinks the salesmen are pitching a variation.... Ho Hum...
Very, very similiar experience!
Our models are not identical, but the product experience is eerily similiar. In our case, our dinner plates will not stand up once you have placed three or more into the bottom draw. The plates are very standard size and shape (Royal Doulton). The slots allowed are too narrow and the plates literally spring out of their places and domino the other plates over. The clean is also quite average unless the intensive setting is used and even this will not always provide a thorough clean (Miele dishtabs). I have contacted Miele and whilst initially v...ery simpathetic have now become a tad aggressive. Have offered to except the machine back, minus 20% restocking fee! Had a Bosch machine before this and had no such complaints, regretably spent an aditional $1k for an inferior product and terrible customer support. Purchased from the Good Guys who were great to deal with as always, but their hands are tied concerning customer support with Miele products.
Excellent, thorough, efficient.
The Miele is a quiet dishwasher and thoroughly cleans dishes efficiently using the Automatic feature. The cutlery tray is uniquely designed so that all cutlery and knives are thoroughly cleaned and dried without water stains. my favourite feature is when it has completed the wash, the door opens slightly and lets out all the steam.
Questions & Answers
Does the machine automatically come with any type of steam guard for under the bench? Do I really need to buy the "UBS G 60-1 Dishwasher built-under kit"?
Also, if I turn off the Auto open feature, will the fan alone dry the glassware and dishes well enough?
Yes it does. Steam has not been a problem and dishes do dry better with this function.
I have had this dishwasher for 2 weeks replacing an old Miele which provided many years of completely reliable quiet service. The new one operates perfectly satisfactory except it is noisy. There is a thumping noise at about 120 thumps per minute for part of each phase of the cycle. The thumping is present when operating the washer completely empty. Is this normal? I have a recording of the noise
Hi Graeme, please call us on 1300 464 353 and we can assist you further. Kind regards, Jack.
I am after the under bench model. My bench space below is only 600mm wide. Is the 600mm width sufficient width for this model - the G6620 scu clst?
Hi Gillian, thank you for your question. Please see the product page of that product here https://shop.miele.com.au/en/kitchen/dishwashers/built-under-dishwashers/g-6620-scu-built-under-dishwashers-zid10470780 which has information regarding dimensions. If you require further assistance, please call 1300 464 353 (Australia) or visit your nearest Miele Experience Centre which you can find here https://www.miele.com.au/domestic/locations-447.htm Kind regards, Miele.
Hi Gillian. The widest part of mine is 595 mm so 600 mm should be enough width. Regards, Jon
