This Miele dishwasher is the best I’ve ever seen, and it’s mine! I’m totally thrilled with it every time I use it.
It’s a breeze to use once you learn the different settings and it’s easy to customize for less water and/or energy usage. Programmable from your phone - just download the app and you can start it with whichever setting whenever. SmartStart is a great feature to take advantage of cheaper energy rate times and the app will alert you when a cycle is completed. The door opens itself and remains slightly ajar. Dishes are mostly all dry, only spots on dishes where water can pool remain wet. A light illuminates inside when the door is open so it’s super easy to load. The cutlery tray is brilliant with plenty of room for cutlery and utensils and they come out spotless every time. Along with the plates/cups etc I rarely rinse anything and it comes out clean regardless of whether food has dried on or not. Just a quality product and it shows. Miele has a reputation that precedes it and for obvious good reason. Can’t fault it! We even reorder tabs from the app and it also provides a real time reading of the salt, detergent and rinse aid levels so they’re always refilled when required. Will even warn you when you’re low on tablets in the cupboard so you’ll never run out. Seriously happy with this purchase!
Impressive Dishwasher & Future Proofed
We were looking for a replacement for our previous 22 year old Miele Dishwasher and thought we'd do our due diligence and consider other brands. In the end the only other model we slightly considered was the Bosch Serie 8 DishWasher. However after seeing it in person and after having seen the Miele G6827 in person, the build quality of the Miele G6827, and feature set was way out in front.
The options to load your dishes, cutlery and glasses in the G6827 are so numerous and flexible that you can maximize the space in which to load the Dishwasher easily, From the 3D Cutllery tray in the top, to the bottom glass shelves. As is the internal LED lighting which makes it so much easier at night and even during the day to load the Dishwasher.
We have been using it for 2 weeks and are so far very impressed. We use the Automatic mode with the Extra Dry option enabled and it works brilliantly. Towards the end of the wash program with about 10 minutes to go it automatically opens the DishWasher Door partly to allow stream to escape and aids in drying the dishes and glasses.
This is one thing I had to take into consideration is that with our old Miele it had a built in heater in the bottom of the cabinet to dry the dishes so that they would be absolutely dry. With all new dishwashers they use Condensation Drying as its more energy efficient. This can lead to dishes not being entirely drip dry.
However I have been able to achieve the same level of dryness as the previous Miele using the following- Automatic mode, Extra Dry option enabled, AutoOpen Door Drying option enabled, using Miele branded Rinse Aid, and the Miele Ultratabs Multi and not fully opening the Dishwasher door until 30 minutes until after the cycle has finished.
Another thing I needed to take into consideration is that the Dishwashing Cycles take longer. Automatic mode takes around 2 hr 42 minutes with the Extra Dry option enabled. The longer cycles use less water and strangely less electricity than the older machines which had quicker cycles.
This Dishwasher does come with the QuickPowerWash program which takes 58 minutes using the Miele Ultratabs Multi though we haven't tried this option yet as we set the Dishwasher to start at 10:00am when our solar system is generating power.
This leads me to another excellent feature of the G6827. The Miele WiFi Conn@ct Wifi option with this Dishwasher. I thought it would be a gimmick but it is quite useful. You turn on the Dishwasher, select the Miele Control Program, click ok and press the start button to activate the Remote Control option.
It then enables the unit to be controlled from either the Miele App on my Galaxy S7 or from my Apple iPad using the same Miele App. It makes it quicker and easier also to set the start time from the app IMO, and when the Dishwasher has finished it will send a notification to your phone, etc where ever you are to let you know your Dishes are ready. It even lists firmware updates via the App.
Actually even if you don't use the remote control option and just use the G6827 in the normal mode it still will send you a notification to your phone when your dishes are ready via the Wifi as long as you have enabled the WiFi settings. Pretty impressive.
The unit is also very quiet during use.
All in all we are impressed and hope it last 20 odd years like our last one did.
