Miele W1 Classic Dissatisfied Customer – If you want a quality wash and ease of operation keep looking. Miele has been a disappointment and it’s not intuitive and poor wash compared to brands we had before. Keep looking do not buy brand. Overrated and ordinary

Disqualified product – Machine is not last long and it not value of money and it work only for five year, product is not up to standard, services also not good. We have to used partner technician to come and checked , come out the control board is dead and replacement part for the quote of $750 , Miele give a 65% discount . Machine was bought 2018 for 1500 so… Read more

technician come to check 189 so final 189+262 from 65% discount from 750 so you still have to pay $451 that almost 1/3 of the price of machine. stay way from Miele if you don’t want any trouble. My previous washing is cheaper and run longer than this one.

The best washer in Australia – Purchased brand new three years ago. Unbeatable quality wash every time - run once a day at least. Very gentle on all fabrics. Delicates do not need a wash bag. Can not praise this appliance enough. Only reason to replace this washer would be to get a larger capacity of the same… Best investment made for any household appliance is always with this brand - never lets us down. Show details

Very disappointed of Miele – Bought WDB030 in 2018, was working fine, but start getting error code F50 and F53 this year, searched in internet, likely a motor issue. OH, it's only four years!, now have to use my old LG one, bought LG in 2008, but it still works perfectly! Checked Miele service, will charge me $179 for just a 30min visit, and will cost more if need replace parts. Really feel disappointed of it! Show details

Very Happy – After approx. 6 months, I am very happy with this machine. Excellent cleaning and gentle on all clothing thus far. Its worthwhile experimenting with cycles and options within them to avoid extra long cycles when clothing is not that soiled - becomes second nature after a while. Machine is not overly noisy and doesn't vibrate too much when going… Read more

into highest spin dry (no thumping).

Make sure you watch the installers to ensure the machine is level (have a spirit level handy if you have one) and also that the hoses at the back are correctly fastened - especially the inlet hose as it may leak if not correctly positioned (kinks will leak). I had to harass to get it properly levelled and the inlet hose leaked until I fastened it myself later.

Lastly, it is heavier than most similarly sized machines so not that easy to move. Probably due to quality parts.

WDB030 purchase went wrong – I bought WDB030 in Jun 2018 and after 15 months it started to release grease stains on clothes. After technical assessment it was found that drum bearings failed, it was major failure. In the middler of COVID pandemic Miele technicians could not work on repair and I was offered a new replacement. I got new machine in September last year and… Read more

after few weeks spotted grease on our linen which was confusing since it was new machine, we believed they were old stains from previous machine. It only took another months that Miele technician could confirm another bearing failure and I was offered new replacement or refund. I believe that Miele has serial faults on these machines since drum and bearings are covered with 10 years warranty. I would like to rate Miele as 5 star, but not WDB030. Miele is doing good in their costumer support and I would asked refund to buy different Miele model.

EXTREMELY REGRETFUL PURCHASE – I purchased the WTDD130WP (T1 CLASSIC) Dryer and matching WDB030 (W1 CLASSIC) Washer for a total of $3,088 in March 2020 and have regretted it from the first day of use. So much so that I am writing this review to warn everyone. I had a fantastic Miele washer and dryer set before this one but they got old and needed replacing. I just automatically… Read more

expected the new ones to be as good as the last ones I had. For starters, who would have thought that these Miele appliances don't beep when the cycles are finished? This is a major turn off. The washer cycle choices are limited and a cotton wash is 3 HOURS!!! with cycles being difficult to manually manipulate. The dryer is loud, vibrates, tangles my sheets like dough in a dough mixer, doesnt have the sense to know when the contents is dry and doesnt beep when its done. I regret these purchases immensely and feel I could have bought better for the money I spent - not that cost was the deciding factor. I bought Miele because I trusted the brand. I am extremely disapointed.

Solid Buy, Expensive, yet going strong 1 year later – Ok, biased super fan of Miele. Have had a few vacuums, and finally been ready for a adult purchase. Expensive....compared to an LG, and you know it. There are other fringe brands, like ASKO but I would avoid as it’s literally like Russian Roulette....too complicated. Especially living rural, I was nervous with their customer follow up. But have… Read more

emailed them, and they were lovely for support. I have any issues.

Cloths are not worn out via their washing....which is good. Not especially noisy when you choose to run it at 1400, which I expected.

Major gripe is that the LCD screen ‘turns off’ during use to save power...so you don’t know how much longer it will be until you press the panel and wake it up....ok, crazy power saving Germans,,,,but this is too much. More annoying than a deal breaker.

Clean the little water catcher maybe every 3 months, no drama Clean the rubber liner with a towel, weekly....leave the door open for it to dry

They are wonderful machines, but you have to want to have one. It’s like a German car, exactly, will work beautifully if you do the maintenance. This is not a Holden Barina....if you neglect it, it will fail.

Impressed... So Far, So Good – Let me start off saying I was a little disappointed that it was not made VERY CLEAR in the installation instructions that the transit bars must be removed before using the machine. Reading the instructions afterwards I still stand by the fact it should be more clear in stating that the machine comes with the transit bars in place and they must be… Read more ·  1

removed before first wash. We did not, and then were shocked to hear how noisy the machine was during the spin cycle. Luckily we investigated it immediately and removed the offending bars without causing damage to the drum. I’m writing this to hopefully prevent anyone else from having the same problem.

But, moving past that, so far, the washing machine is everything I had hoped for. Similarly to my review on the dryer, the washing machine cycles are much longer than I’m used to, coming from an older style top loader washing machine. However, there is no doubt this washing machine is much more gentle on my clothes than the old one was. Don’t try to cut corners with the wash cycle, accept it will take good time, just let it do it’s thing.

When the cycle has finished, the clothes come out much dryer than they did from my old machine. This is very handy when needing to pop them straight in the dryer, but helpful in any case to reduce the drying time.

So as I said before, still early days, and I will report back if anything changes, but so far, I am a very happy Miele customer.

Terrible installation – I bought this machine today. The installer drove off without showing me how to operate the machine; left it running; called me on the phone as he drove away to say he had finished and FORGED MY SIGNATURE on the Customer line of the invoice. I cant find him to get him back, though I called him. I could not get through to Miele. I have called the… Read more

electronics pack up in 4 months – Puchase my machine and drier from Harvey Norman. This is a 3-d generation of Miele loyalty. Electronics packed up in the washer after 4 months of home use. I was given only 1 option by Miele - a 3 week wait for the part. This is shocking, and I am left with no option with a family of 4 in a lock down time, than to purchase another cheaper machine, to deal with the laundry. So disappointing, for such a big and pricey brand. Show details

Perfect for a big family! – I have had this washing machine for just over 12 months and I absolutely love it! It’s perfect for my family as it can do a big load with multiple settings. It also seems to hold the fragrance of the washing liquid I use really well and when a load is completed the entire house smells Devine! Well worth the money and I have also purchased the matching dryer. Very happy! Show details ·  1

Do not touch Miele – I purchased Miele front loader in September 2019. It now shows error code f50. I contacted Miele and they responded with "$179 dollar call out fee and $34 per 15 minutes there after. This a disgrace on a machine less than 6 months old. My advice is do not go near Miele appliances. Show details

Great front loader – I had used Miele previously so I knew of their quality first hand. This is the baby of the Miele washers but still has a multitude of features (some would say too many) Still it washes very well and is very quiet. Hopefully it will last a long time. Show details ·  1

Excellent product – My previous Bosch front loader broke down after about 7 years or so. The drive shaft broke so it couldn’t be fixed. I was surprised to learn from online research that front loader washing machines usually only last about 7 years or so these days. From online research, I came to the conclusion that Miele washing machines last 20 years and that you… Read more

can buy them cheaper from the Miele Clearance Centre. So that’s what I did, thereby achieving a 30% discount. In the long run this will save money. If I had bought another budget model, it would no doubt break in another 7 years or so. By buying the Miele product, I get a machine that will last 20 years, and in 7 years time I’ll be ahead (it would cost more to buy 2 budget washing machines and have them delivered and installed than what I paid for this one at the Clearance Centre.) The washing machine has a delayed start function to help save money by using it in non-peak periods, but does not use much electricity any way. The cycle takes a very long time, about 2 hours and 45 minutes, but the benefit is that clothes are spun much drier than my previous washing machine was able to.

There is also an Express 20 option for faster results for smaller loads (up to 3.5kg, or half the maximum volume).

It also has an “economy” cycle but the installer advised not to use it because it takes much longer and hardly makes any different to electricity usage. I figure he’s probably right. My theory is that the extra time taken will wear the machine out faster and so it is probably not worth the tiny money saved on electricity cost. But I could be wrong.

Unfortunate experience – We purchased this machine on recommendation from the store in New Zealand On first use we noticed the touch screen would not work properly. great washing machine and service – was well looked after by the staff at the good guys joondalup who sold us an excellent quality machine that shall hopefully do really good washing for many years. Had some troubles with payment options and the staff were very patient in accommodating our needs and organising delivery. Would definitely recommend to anyone chasing top quality washing machines.  Show details ·  1

Love, Love Love it!!! – Bought this Machine from Bing lee at Hornsby. I bought this machine is to replaced my super old Miele honeycomb care washer. Great washing machine – It has lots of function to suit your distinctive needs. Their customer service is superb. It is not noisy and is easy to maintain. It is a little more expensive than the norm but it is a good product to invest. Scratch proof, and it last for many years. Do it.  Show details ·  1

This is the perfect washing machine, quiet and gentle and very efficient! – This washing machine cleans and rinses our clothes perfectly. It is very gentle on our clothes and does not wear them out at all. It is incredibly quiet when operating. My favourite features are the touchscreen which enables you to see how much more time is required in the cycle. This is an excellent machine and I highly recommend it!  Show details

Risky Now – Only just bought exactly 1 month ago. So far so good. However, my biggest complaint is that the Machine was delivered without tools nor printed manuals. They did send the tool after a second request but to date I have not received printed Manuals after 3 requests, they sent pdf files instead even after explaining that we needed to have a printed… Read more

copy. Comprehension problem or Customer Carelessness? The fact that Miele failed to consider the situation from their customers' perspective (did not bother to supply missing items immediately upon notification and still waiting after 1 month) says a lot about Miele's idea of Brand pride and customer service, for this it should be 2 stars.

So, Miele has a reputation for quality and longevity in the past, which explains the higher price, however if products can be sent missing important items like Operating Manuals and the tool to remove the transit bars and adjust the feet for proper balance I think it is fair to say that something has failed in the expected precision of German made Miele products. If those simple yet important things are missing, what else? Could this explain the reports of oil in the washing with some other models of Miele? And if you add to that the all important after sales customer service, turning out to be mediocre, you have to make a judgment between the price paid versus the risk of failure and likely poor customer service in the future.

I am very reluctant to give it 3 stars because of a failure in the Quality Control process and mediocre after sales Service. At this stage I don't know if the product is average (or better) for similarly priced machines, but the product care is below average. Prospective buyers should weigh the two risks carefully.

UPDATE: I have just got email now advising that "In the interest of the environment, we do not print manuals". So this is a big surprise and bad for us because of the inconvenience in having to boot up the computer to access the electronic Manual or if from iPad, read the small print. We have a high preference for hard copy. This should also tell us about Miele's priority, customer is not on the top of the list. I don't know if other similarly priced Washing Machines have this same dubious policy.
