Poor quality product, poorer quality customer service!
Washing machine is 18 months old and presented a fault code that needs to be investigated by a Miele technician. I contacted Miele and they advised that the first available technician appointment is in 1 weeks time. Miele advised that if I decide to have a non Miele person repair the machine at an earlier time it could void my warranty.
Now we have no washing machine for a family of 4 for at least 1 week. This is not the quality of product or standard of customer support we were expecting when we decided to purchase Miele.
Terrible Like Never Seen Before: Do Not Buy
i bought the wdd030 miele washing machine and have had only trouble!!! I've done lots of laundry at my mums and never ever experienced something as bad as this machine. My mother has miele washing machine for 15 years and her clothing come out perfectly clean, whereas the machine i've bought ive only had trouble. I've spent hours with miele on the phone and sent them countless pictures of my clothing completely ruined clothes full of dirty patches. Very very horrible. Miele customer service were trying in all ways to say that they cannot think ...of a fault, but proof to show that there is a big problem with the water in the wash is that plenty of people left the same bad review about ruined clothing from the particular machine. Im deeply deeply upset to have paid so much money and got a rubbish machine.

Didn't last 4 years
Ours isnt this exact model, but looks the most similar.
My husband who bought this machine thinking it was the best of the best and would last years and years at the end of 2016.
On the weekend it died mid cycle. I got our local appliance technician out thinking it would surely be a fuse or similar. Its the electrical board. He explained this is common with Miele and its about $700 to fix. Even better he has replaced a few only to have them blow again due to the fault being elsewhere in the machine but its impossible to know till they replac...e that board and see if it blows again. I cannot believe a machine this expensive would last less than 5 years (I honestly expect 8-10 for the price) and there is no warranty. He told me my board was clean and no sign of any contamination (like cockroaches etc) to have caused it. Im beyond angry that a machine of this cost and apparent quality has a two year warranty. I am beyond angry that to replace parts in it that are clearly only going to die because they are not made to last is so expensive. Serviceman told me if it was a Bosch or other brand the same part would be a third of the price. Why do you pay more for a good machine when all you get is more costly to repair and didnt even last as long as my really cheap Samsung I had prior to it (10 years never an issue and still working when we sold it on and 'upgraded').

Fantastic washing results, but only for 2 weeks
The machine is fantastic, washing results the best. Quiet in operation, solid, and the quality I expected for our first Miele.
Unfortunately it only lasted about 2 weeks, perhaps 8 various loads. The touch panel, just stopped responding to touches. Time to call Miele, diverted to on-line. Have to book a service, oh dear 2 weeks for the first available appointment, and agree to a service charge. Now we are off to wash our clothes at the laundromat while we wait.
I was expecting a far better after sales service level, particularly under warranty.

This is German precision and perfect in Form and Function
This machine is easy to operate as does not shake rattle or roll around as it’s a very heavy and solid machine. Quiet and efficient and water friendly with easy controls to use. Impressed that you can shorten load times by the press of a button and delicate cycle in used quite regularly as is the 20 minute quick cycle.

I bought my washing machine 2 years ago. It works still really well. There is many functions you can manipulate and setting. Specially, it saves the water and wash so clean. I love the detergents smell, so fresh!

Like my previous Miele washing machine that lasted over 10 years, this one, now 2 years old is great. It washes clothes well, has lots of program choices, including a quick cycle. You can stop it in the early stages of a cycle to add more clothes but then it begins again from the cycle's beginning. It is solidly built, runs quietly, is economical on water usage and I expect it to last many more years.

Fantastic washing machine
The Miele WDD030 is our first front loader and to say we have been impressed is an understatement. The machine washes our clothes much better than our previous top loader. We really like the different options for different washes (towels vs clothes etc). I can thoroughly recommend this machine.
Miele quality & customer service has dropped
I have had Miele washer & dryer for over 15 years & loved them. I had to replace my washer for latest model & it does not compare to older model. Mine leaked at the door from first week. I call service team on 3 occasions, each time waiting half a day only to be told firstly seal was faulty. It was changed but still leaked. Secondly i was told it was normal for a few drops of water to drip out at end of cycle.

I purchased a WDD030 in April 2019, for $1600. Miele installed it.
EDIT (2-3-2020): After having consulted with Miele via their Customer Advocate and a visit from their technician, I am left with the uncomfortable feeling that Miele have tried too hard to impress with unrealistic solutions to a misunderstood problem, and have allowed a poorly designed response onto the market.
Studying up on the science of washing, one soon learns that this cannot be done properly without sufficient solvent (in the case, water) for the cleaning agent (deterg...ent). And you cannot get away with using less detergent, you need enough to get out all the dirt you cannot see but will surely start smelling in storage while waiting to be used. Following from this, one needs a great deal of solvent to rinse out the remnant cleaning agent with all of the dissolved and suspended dirt. In many locales, water is expensive, or hard to get, or both. What this means is: you need a lot of water to do a wash with current detergent technology. If you try to conserve water, you don't flush dirt out of the clothes. I cannot fiddle with the wash machine to see the design philosophy employed. However, it is fairly obvious the drum cavity is not being fully drained from any cycle. This means that on any rinse or spin cycle, detergent and dirt are being retained in the drum.

Disappointed! Do not waste your time and money.
The machine has stained and ripped most of our clothing, sheets, blankets and towels. The clothes come out of the machine half dry and smelling foul and mouldy. We are better of not washing anything. We contacted Miele and a technician has come out and diagnosed the machine as not being programmed before it arrived to us, apparently it did not have enough water in it to be able to wash and it was also not set to gentle. We were also advised by the technician that with this machine we are not to use detergents such as vanish, soft, sensitive, wo...ol, eco friendly or organic (we have tried everything) but Miele powder and capsules. The softener draw of the machine is always full of water and the water has to be drained manually every time after a wash, to also complicate this process of washing we have been told to use softener only for a couple of programs. So after taking one day of work to wait for the technician now Miele would like to send another tech who “may possibly find something else or fix it” as the programming ang super hot wash has not fixed the problem. Hmm, how is this possible?! After the technicians "fixing it", the machine now stops 4 minutes before the end of the wash and does not take softner at all. I have recorded this washing machine washing clothes on no water apart from what the clothes has absorbed and I have photos of the destroyed clothing, Miele staff have not once genuinely apologised or offered compensation for damaged property let alone an exchange or refund. Do not waste your time, nerves or money!
A terrible machine - the door leaked on first use. Flimsy build quality compared to old models.
This is my third Miele washing machine and the other 2 have been great but this one is terrible.
On first use the door leaked. Miele refused to replace the machine without first doing a service call - which meant 2 full days off work to sort the issue out.
The plastic door on this model is flimsy compared to my old machine and the touch screen is not as robust as the old buttons.
I definitely would not recommend this machine nor Miele.
Bought it new and from the get go this machine has a terrible smell, received a replacement and it had the same problem.
I have used Miele for years, I feel the quality of standards on their machines is not what it used to be, very disappointed.
We've been using this machine for about 10 months now. It replaced an 18 year-old ASKO machine. We are absolutely delighted with the machine. It is very quiet (compared with the ASKO) and love the flexibility the machine provides it terms of being able to select and customise cycle times. The digital display is large and easy to read. I purchased it because it was highly recommended by Choice, and of course, Miela's reputation is excellent.

Have had a Miele machine for over 15 years and it finally failed me. Until recently it had never skipped a beat, so it was the obvious choice to get another one. So far so good but I feel like the turn dial is a cheap alternate to the old style buttons and I am so disappointed that this model does not have a buzzer and I did not realise this until after purchase. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to know when your washing is finished and who's decision it was to not put a buzzer on it with the option to turn it off if you didn't want it??? First world problem but happy with the machine so far.

White mouldy stains upon unboxing
This machine was delivered today to replace an ASKO and upon unboxing i noted white spots all around the rubber on the door and water marks. The Joyce Mayne floor manager says as per Miele this is NORMAL and that white marks are calcium deposits that ALL Miele machines have from being factory tested. I would like to know if other people have had similar experience or are we being blatantly lied to? We live in hot humid climate which means this could be persistent issue.
I have had ASKO, Fisher & Paykel etc washing machines in past and have never once noted this issue.
The spin cycle leaves the wash load dripping wet which apparently is due to incorrect installation and being fixed.
Not impressed thus far on Day 1.
Exceptional Washing amachine
Having a family of 4, which includes 2 children under 6, you know any machine will get truly tested when it comes to food and dirt stains.
I did a lot of research, including referencing choice for their summation of reviews. I have to say that this machine is as hoped!
I have never owned a Miele before, and my experience is in comparison to my Bosch machine prior.
Clothes never have come out so clean, towels in hot water temperature come out so fresh - I also have the Miele dryer to finish the job here as well!.
The multitude of settings are ample for all household needs, the delicate cycle is delicate, but cleans thoroughly.
Excellent, very quiet
Had a new car smell when it was delivered. You could smell the quality of this German appliance. All controls are good quality, and door hinges sturdy.
It is very quiet compared to the previous machine, and has many options and settings. The screen is touch operated, and so far it has done everything that it has said it would.
Only omission is a chime at the end of the wash cycle. Given the quality of the machine the chime is not missed at all. Particularly given delay start of the cycle is a feature, we normally set the machine to finish when convenient for us.
Clothes very clean. Everyone is happy.
I bought my washing machine a week ago and it was great for the first few washes but now it has starting putting grease marks on my white sheets and a new jumper........not happy. I will ring on Monday and I am hoping it will be rectified ASAP as I have a houseful of grandies and can’t do without my machine.
Great product WDD030
Bought this washing machine a month ago. This is my first Miele washing machine and so far I’m very pleased with this product. It has plenty of programs with good flexibility of cycle run times. It’s very efficient and is quiet to use. The thing I notice most over my last washing machine is that the Miele is so well balanced, and does not appear to be working hard on the wash programs or spin cycles. Great quality product and I would recommend this model.

Set the rotary control to the position corresponding to the program started to resolve. Hi Lesley. Our machine had that problem, it turned out to be a failure of the panel. I can only suggest you turn it off at the wall for 5 minutes then back on again. If the panel is still unresponsive, give Miele a call.
