Best Internet Service Provider

I regret not switching to Mint Telecom sooner. Would’ve saved a lot of time arguing with customer advisors in Phillipines working for a major ISP providing sub-standard service.

I stumbled upon Mint Telecom on productreview and was skeptical at first as they were too good to be true. We took the plunge 2 years ago and switched to Mint Telecom, best decision ever made. We couldn’t believe the ADSL modem arrived and ADSL transfer all ready to go within 2 days. What’s even more surprising was we had some drop outs in our area (black spots) and one of the Mint Telecom staff contacted us to ask how our internet connection was as they had seen our download speeds slowed down on their end. We were mind blown by the customer service, the problem was solved before it ever became an issue!

We recently switched to Mint Telecom NBN and we can stream Netflix, Youtube with no drop outs during the evenings. To think of it, we never had any problem since we picked up the phone and signed up to ADSL. When you call them, the call is answered straightaway by an Aussie, working in Australia. You are not greeted with a pre-recorded menu and put on hold until the call drops out or speaking to a different person each time and repeating things with no resolution and want to pull your hair out.

What really prompted me to write the review today is Kelvin’s amazing customer service through the Mint Telecom online chat. No robots asking for prompts, I spoke to a real human being. I asked him some questions about my mum’s NBN installation issues and he provided more information in 20 minutes than my mum’s incompetent ISP in 3 weeks. I did want to sign my mum up to Mint Telecom NBN today and be rid of the other sub-standard ISP but Kelvin was very honest with me and said I’d be better off making a direct complaint to NBN Co. as I’d get more answers there. He even found the email on the NBN Co website fine print (they hide contact details quite well).

I have used the internet services of many major ISPs in Australia and I can truly say Mint Telecom is by far the best, by a good 10 miles ahead the rest of the competition. Please keep up the good work and never outsource your call centres!

What a fantastic company to deal with..

I have had so many problems in the past with other providers but I stumbled across Mint Telecom on the internet and check out their reviews and decided to contact them. From day one I have only dealt with one person yes that's right the same person not a different person every time. Kelvin has been fantastic he had me up and running on the NBN in couple of weeks and could give me answer's to what the problem was, which no other company over 18 months could do. Kelvin is very responsive, gives great advice, gives assistance where needed and keeps you updated. I now have great internet throughout my home many thanks.

Great NBN transition

In moving from ADSL to NBN, Mint Telecom were able to facilitate the whole process from start to finish. A problem with the outside FTTC connection was resolved quickly without any interruption to our internet services. I have found their support personnel to be accessible, efficient and extremely helpful on all occasions.

Hi Keiran, Upgrading from ADSL with Mint to NBN with Mint does allow most components to be within our control and allows us to plan and manage to ensure we minimise or completely eliminate downtime. So even when there is a problem with NBN, your existing service continues to work whilst we engage with NBN to get it fixed. Seamless move to nbn

I had been avoiding doing anything about moving to the nbn, but Mint made it really easy and did a great job from start to finish. They listened to my concerns and questions, and resolved them right away. They suggested an appropriate plan based on likely speeds in our area, checked my current modem (incompatible with nbn) and offered me a pre-configured modem. The modem arrived on time, the cutover happened on time, and the modem worked perfectly from the very start. I'm very happy with Mint and recommend them to anybody who wants a seamless move to the nbn.

Hi Corinne, NBN really isn't as bad as it can be made out to be. The vast majority of the time its an easy experience to change to and the product is significantly better than what people had prior to the change. It does matter who you choose as your provider though as we focus really heavily on clear communication, great products that work as they should and making ourselves nice and easy to reach and deal with. So when it all works as we both expect it to its fantastic to get that feedback and to know that our processes are working. Really appreciate you taking the time to provide the feedback to us. A rough start, but satisfying experience.

TL;DR: Excellent and experienced staffs, be patient and helpful with you. nbn speed is as promised currently.
I switched to Mint from another company. However, the last one was too slow and incompetent and did not even free my nbn port for Mint. Mint has been very helpful and understanding with the situation, guided me through every step. Mint has very experienced staffs and I believe they know things in the industry very well. After 5 days fighting with the previous company, I finally connected to Mint this morning and the speed is as promised. I hope this one will be a worthy experience.

Customer Service without peer

I recently moved house and was have a shocking time with NBN, Mint as my preferred provider assisted me greatly in the process and since being connected, the service has been perfect. Very happy to leave one of the big players and my choice in Mint Telecom.

Rescued by Mint Telecom

For 10 days I was without internet and the provider I was with was unable to rectify the problem. Within days of moving over to Mint, the problem was resolved. The technician and client support communicated with me clearly and with transparency via email. I am very impressed and there has been no dropouts or problems with the service.

The story begins with me ringing Mint,I get courteous advice and sign up at 1PM .
At 4PM i am on the net with MInt and they help me configure my Modem/Router.Service with a smile and knowhow and this is what customers of Mint are so happy about. Can highly recommend Mint to anyone .

I LOVE MINT

Mint was amazing. Decided to switch after Optus failed to set up my NBN, after 5 weeks. Made the switch to Mint yesterday morning, and now 24hrs later have recieved my modem and have working internet. Cannot believe I didnt switch sooner.

Customer care team is an absolute delight to deal with. An Australian call centre who I didnt have to wait on hold for. I was assisted by helpful, competent, friendly and easy to understand staff.
I have also reached out over facebook messenger and requested a call. I promptly got a reply and a call time organised.

Mint is absolutely sensational! I will never deal with another internet provider again. I cannot recommend them high enough! If setting up your internet use Mint, or switch your current provider now!

You'll struggle to find a better company!

After years of ADSL and then NBN drop outs (at least 3 a day and some lasting weeks) I moved to Mint. 3 days later they called me to say there were issues with my connection. Yes, they called me! NBN as usual said it was, my modem, my wiring, not their fault! (I'm a telecommunications engineer!) Mint bugged the living crap out of NBN to fix it! I've not had a drop out in 7 months! Since Mint got NBN to finally send a decent technician to fix the issue. My speed also doubled. Love Mint. I may pay $5 more a month for their service, but they get the job done and they are a truly aussie company. I've spent close to 20 hours on the phone with iinet to fix the same issue with the only result being extreme frustration on my part...

Best company to deal with!!!

I have to say that I am blown away by the customer service from this company and the modem came within 24 hours! Service was set up in 2 hours from when I called (but I had to wait for the lovely modem). No wait times for phoning into the company either. I had to cut ties with My Republic as they are absolutely horrifying to deal with and Mint Telecom came to save the day! Thank you!!!

Best NBN provider around

I moved over to Mint recently and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The set-up process was incredibly fast, easy, and supported by the best customer service - something that seems so rare these days! My NBN connection has been reliably great and I love that when I do have a question it's easy to contact their team and they're always happy to help. Highly recommended. Thanks guys!

Hi Midge, Best to contact us directly to cover, but in simple terms: 1. Yes - you can get all these services directly from each provider. 2. Yes - plan details are on website (bundles section). 3. For some types of NBN you can use. But you can never use for voice as telstra lock the settings. Hi there, after decades with Optus in Melbourne and an optnetnet.com.au email address, I moved to Mint Telecom when I came to live in Hobart. Great service, by the way. However without Optus broadband I lost the Optus email address and moved to Gmail just prior to moving to Tasmania. Problem is now I plan to visit China and China it appears has banned Google (and Gmail). I see from previous posts that you do not offer Mint email addresses, so looking for an option. Incidentally, Optusnet.com.au can be accessed in China so a cheap broadband (mobile) Plan is I think one option, and I can use again my old Optusnet email address if I go with Optus. Hi Ross, Interesting one. It looks like there are two simple options. 1. You can use a VPN so as to access Gmail (A quick google of how to use gmail in China will provide details); OR 2. Setup a different free email account that you can use temporarily. I.e. Hotmail appears to work in China and oyu could simply setup a rule to fwd emails from gmail to your Hotmail acct for that period. Google search reveals that China banned VPN in 2018, although commentators suggest they are more interested in their own citizens’ use and may not enforce visitor use - tread your own path. For a short 14 day tip may go cold turkey, however I will investigate a cheap Optus etc. Mobile broadband prepaid plan for 39 days and hook onto their email offerings (optusnet .com.au) which China does appear to allow.
