Incredible PHEV!

We've owned our 2023 Outlander Exceed PHEV for just over 3 months, done 4000km and put fuel in it a total of 2 times. It fits our family of 6 (including 3x big teenagers) with ease and so far has been a very reliable and super high tech/ultra safe addition to our garage. Show details

EV Battery is very disappointing

Have a 2015 model and the battery has degraded to 44% , Mitsubishi will do nothing about this and a new battery will cost $14,000-. Potential purchasers of these cars be warned! The rest of the vehicle is great but this major fault makes this vehicle a disappointment. Show details

Superb Technology Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2021

5 seater
Plugs into a standard power point (I am home during the day and my home Solar is charging it for free)
Has all the safety technology I could want.
I get 49+ Km to a charge
Superior locking and safety mechanisms and warnings.
Leaves Toyota technology for dead.
Comfortable seating.
AWD / 4WD.

Only criticisms: 1) the middle seat in the second row would only suit a child. and 2) It does NOT come with a spare. For Australian conditions, this is not good. It does come with a tyre repair kit. I ordered another kit so i carry 2 kits if i ever do a long distance trip. Show details

Exposed to hydrogen sulfide

I purchased a outlander phev brand new from Mitsubishi. It had a full log book service but the 12 v battery in the boot failed, filling the cabin with hydrogen sulfide, a toxic, flammable gas. My whole family, including my pregnant wife were exposed to the fumes as it happened in our garage. Lucky no one was killed during the incident although my wife got very sick.

I contacted Mitsubishi motors after they issued a recall, but experienced the worst customer service - they simply didn't care at all. I will never buy a Mitsubishi again and urge anyone to avoid the brand. Show details

Why doesn't the cruise control work in EV mode??

Generally happy with the car, could do with a bit more clearance and the bilstein upgrade does nothing to the ride except find every bump in the road. The lack of a spare wheel is concerning although I have obtained a Hitch carrier and fitted a Bullbar as well. Lots of tracks and suicidal Roos on Kangaroo island, Show details ·  1

Mitsubishi deny any liability for bad phev battery

Mitsubishi will do nothing about the battery which only drives 32 klms on battery. Only 16000 klms and less than 18 months old. Dealer no help and useless BMU check demanded says down to 80% capacity. Disappointing Show details

towing with Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV ZK ES (2018-2020)

Despite what the brochures say the Mitsubishi PHEV ZK is not suitable (or rather safe) for any sort of towing if there is any chance of having to go up a slope. They (Mitsubishi) don't advertise the fact it has 'torque limiting' apparently to protect the electric motors. It means if you have to stop on an uphill slope due to traffic etc you will not be able to move off. A PHEV loaded to its max GCM (1500kg trailer + passengers) struggles to move if the gradient is greater than approximately 6 deg. Even at its GVM (passengers + baggage, no trailer) the limit is about 9 deg.  Show details

Well the car is an amazing vehicle but the service was expensive and terrible

2017 model took it in for capacity loss but been told it is all good and as per design.
Had to take it to Adelaide to fix it.
Yes I did have to drive it to Adelie from Melbourne because nobody knew a thing about it here Show details

Terrible customer service, very hard to talk to a person

I am writing this in the hope that a real person will call me about a serious Dealership complaint. The Electric component of my Phev is only good for 40 KMS . It should do 300 and they say nothing is wrong with it. If that's true I will go to the department of Fair Trading as they car has false advertising. Show details

Pleasantly surprised

Really enjoying this car! My last car was a Ford Kuga and I felt like it chewed through the petrol. The Outlander is way better in this regard. The technology in the car is perfect and as a Mum of 2 (needing 2 bulky car seats and a pram to fit) the car is spacious!

Hi there, just thinking of buying outlander phew 2015, 82000 km but I'm a little bit worried about the battery degradation over time. Can someone please tell me, what is the actual fuel consumption if the battery goes flat completely, city and highway journeys? Does it work like Hybrid Prius after battery goes dead? Any answers highly appreciated!

Running on petrol alone it is much the same as a petrol only car i.e 8 to 9 l/100km on the open road.
