- MLN Computers
I bought a Venom BlackBook Zero from West Melbourne MLM which has had Zero good points and has been heaps of trouble and a poor performer from the word go - slower than the old laptop it replaced, yet in theory, much better on specifications..
I am in Brisbane so have called numerous times and as I read with interest the other one star reviews, found I have experienced many of the poor service points raised by others.
In particular, the blaming of software issues, when my troubles have been there from day one.

Purchased a custom built computer from the west melbourne store, the guy who served us was not helpful at all. We told him that we wanted a gaming only computer so when he asked us if we wanted a dvd drive we said no, not knowing that cdrom drive is now called dvd drive. Any good customer service person would have said 'well if you want to play games you will need a dvd drive as that is the NEW cdrom drive.
Also wanted a specific harddrive which they never put in, instead put in another brand without even telling us. If you pay for and pick a...

Terrible after service support. Fixed with wrong part and took weeks to finally have back.
Wrong replacement screen put on the computer. They tried to give me inferior glossy screen rather than the matt screen they advertise so strongly. Given excuse after excuse. Next time I will have it repaired from a competitor, even if it costs me double.
The guy at Essendon has no knowledge of computer and extremely rude. The PC started displaying the blue screen of dead in less than 1 week and he blamed it on Windows. I had to use the additional warranty (promoted by MLN) which I purchased to replace the faulty memory. Would have given these guys a zero star rating instead of one star if this review could be submitted without any star rating.
very bad customer service
i bought charger for laptop. they claimed genuine matching model to my laptop but when i got it is no where close to original charger what I have. can't trust these guys.
Bought a mouse from there that was $90, MSY, CPL and umart were selling the same mouse for $59. Made an impulse buy and got ripped off
Do research before buying from there!
Pre-Order Non Delivery
Pre Ordered an ASUS G751JY on the 23rd of January 2015.
Laptop still hasn't arrived... it's now the 9th of April 2015.
Email correspondence ground to a halt when they blocked my email address from sending emails to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com.
There was nothing harsh said in the emails, just general queries regarding the status of my order, after waiting almost 3 months for a shipment to arrive.
I wish the online division for MLN were as decent as the brick and mortar stores in Melbourne.
One of the reasons why I think that the laptop failed to deliver was because they advertised a price lower than what they were willing to pass as an acceptable profit margin. ...Lower Price for Pre-Orders to attract customers to placing a pre-order. I feel like I was the only one to order the laptop, which meant that they would be making a loss on my sale, or the profit margin would be minimal, so it's reflected back in their customer service regarding my order. "We're making a loss on this sale, so who cares... we're better off if he asks for a refund" Which I did ask for... but that's when they blocked my email address to prevent any further communication.
very poor experience at Richmond MLN store
We bought a Venom computer desktop from Richmond store in 2011.
After initially failing to start - returned to store.
Examination of desktop showed Network Interface card had not been installed properly The Desktop Case showed evidence of damage including US Bus ports not flush with case , all connections to front of computer was not sitting correctly due to damage/poorly constructed Case
The working damaged desktop remained unfixed for 2.5 years.
Returned Venom computer to shop in 23rd Dec 2014.
I was assured by Paul at Richmond store that there were no other customer complaints about the "Venom" model and that I should have returned it in 2011.
Informed him that we lived with the defective computer for son's VCE ...Desktop out of Warranty. Charged another $375 to replace case clean desktop, and diagnostics (defectively installed in 2011) Picked up the desktop on Sat 27th of Dec - Computer does not start - No device found. Examination of Desktop reveals 1. No power connect to Hard Drive 2. DVD has power connector improperly plugged in
Do Not Trust Them
On the salespersons recommendation a laptop and various other hardware were purchased. After setting it up at home I found it would not work and asked the assistance of a colleague who was savvier with these things. He concluded it would never work, as the components were incompatible.
On contacting the salesperson, it was suggested that I return with the goods to the store and he would have it all up and running. This he could not achieve and had their technician look at it. He also could not get it operational, saying the issue was the har...dware items were incompatible. I then asked for a refund and left the products with them, the salesperson refused and said I should take them with me, I left all the items with them. After many attempts at contacting them and they always avoiding the issue, I proceeded to VCAT where they did not show. An order was made for the full refund, which to date they have not complied with.
Extremely poor customer service
Dropped by the essendon store about a particular notebook which they apparently had sold out of, which is fair enough. However firstly the guy didnt even bother getting up from behind his desk, secondly when I asked whether any other outlets had any in stock, he told me to me to give them a call directly and did not offer to call them or any contact details for other stores. Suffice to say I walked out of there extremely unsatisfied and annoyed. I won't be recommending MLN, in fact I'd be telling people to steer clear. Poor customer service can really hurt a business.
very rude staff and irresponsible @ MLN
I bought a notebook from MLN north melbourne branch, when i took the notebook back home I found that it had software problem and even the windows not working, I took it back to the shop but they refuse to fix it, the manager told me that the warranty includes hardware and not software and you should re-install the windows, WTH!!!!! buying a brand new labtop with software problem and you should pay another 100$ to fix it. don't recommend to buy from them.
not responsive staff
Terrible. Paid for a $1000 computer that came with no USB ports working, the $500 graphics card completely broken and the motherboard installed faulty, leading to constant crashes. The customer service also takes a very long time to respond, often in not so helpful ways. I would recommend just about anyone BUT these people, worst experience I've ever had with computers.
Faulty craftsmanship, bad customer service
The after service once you have spent money with them is dreadful especially if they sell you a faulty product and want to get it repaired or claim warranty. They also make you spend to get it checked for service repair and give you the report if and when they want to. Best advice stay away and spend somewhere else!!!!!so disgusted with the service and products they sell which are faulty!!
Bad warranty and after service. Real nightmare
Can't even provide a tax invoice
The new laptop didn't come with a tax invoice, nor they email my a tax invoice for my online order. Email the sales team and they told me to logon to their "My Account". However there was bugs in their system and the order status was stuck at "Payment Cleared" state. No tax invoice can be downloaded. Ask the sales team again and they said it was 2 months ago and it is not in their system. OMG! what kind of service is this? ONLY a tax invoice, can't even get it right? Hopeless!
poor poor online service
