Well when you order the bin and you are not a tradie or cant predict weight you should be well informed of the weight limit. Not be told over the phone the bin comes with 1000kg but not be told anything over the 1000kg will have penalties or that their skips are not allowed to carry over 1000kg even though the skips are large enough for basically light crap only. My bin was ordered for a bathroom reno. Tiles and bricks. Had they been honest and up front about skip bin and weight excess I would not have chosen them. But after they take my cre...
Read moredit card and tell me all is good for bathroom reno and never explain 35 cents per kilo overweight excess, I was hit with a 231 dollar bill. They also take this money without your permission. You explain the situation but I highly recommend you do not use Mobile Skips if you have any bathroom reno. I wasnt able to put in my shower my spa the basin and toilet into the bin and i was overweight by 600kgs. I would have another 250kgs to 350kgs left when my tiler finishes. How on earth these guys are allowed to get away by just taking your 500 dollars without being upfront is my issue. The terms and conditions were sent to me after making payment in an attached email which showed the cost. They claim I should have read it before the delivery. Well its a bit hard when you book it and get the paperwork after the fact and were never told the weight excess during the booking call. The Terms and conditions should be explained before the booking which is my major gripe. Find any other skip business and you will have no weight limit nor the 2 days fill it up and see you later excuses I got or the penalty was another 15 dollars a day. This was provided to me over the phone. Funny the cheaper section was provided but not the weight excess.- Customer Service

Well All I request is a refund for the excess nothing more. Also it helps if your customer support can speak clearly and not with a hard to hear accent. Your customer services should clearly state al...
Read morel your terms and conditions first before discussing skip bin type and size. Tell your customers the maximum limit is 1000kgs all excess is charged at 35 cents a kilo. This allows the customer to make an informed decision given most people cannot determine how much a bathroom renovation will be. Example any normal bathroom with a shower basin toilet and bathtub and shower screen tiles and sand and cement will easily put you past the 1000kg limit. my bathroom with was over 1600kgs without the showers screens the basin and the bathtab. Just these items would be around 100kgs . Do not use this service for bathroom renovation you will hit 1000kgs easily just on tiling. These are the facts not nonsense. Plenty of good people will get burned by this type of small business. If you want to use them please take my review as fact. I would also suggest you read the bad feedback before the good. If there are more than 1 instance for the same complaints then you should always view this feedback as gospel. All other feedback is mushy crap. There is no way you would spend 500 dollars to dump half a bathroom. You can do it yourself at the TIP and it will only cost you about 150 to 200 dollars maxThe reviewer stated that an incentive was offered for this review

Booked one for today to fit in with trades and labourers
Was given 0700 to 1000 window by Mobile Skips
No skip by 1130, so called their 1300 number to find out what was going on.
Spoke to a nice lady in a call centre somewhere. Message was basically that I would need to wait for skip to turn up and to call back if it did not arrive.
Waited until 1330 and called again. A garbled explanation that skip was ‘on the way’ but i could not be given a delivery time.
I cancelled the job at this point, paid off my tradies, and will make arrangement with s...

I hope the suggested solution we've sent on email helps to someway rectify this and get you back on track.Hi Ralph, thanks so much for the feedback. We're really sorry for the bad experience you had in hiring your skip. Could you please email us at support@mobileskips.com.au just in case your refund is still not processed and we will follow up.
This turned out to be way more expensive than your average skip. I was massively penalised for being over 1000kg, and yet my skip was not even half full. I regret being fooled by the added convenience. If you have anything remotely heavy to throw away, I would recommend a standard skip company any time.

Best if you order a skip from an ethical reputable company.
I ordered a skip. They delivered the skip and did not tell us to ignore the weight limit on the skip, so we did not get what we ordered. Then when they removed our skip they knocked down our fence. They did not deny they had knocked down our fence, but refused to pay to fix the fence. Best if you order a skip from an ethical reputable company.
Hi James
Glad to see that we could sort this issue out for you and you are back ordering with us. Thanks once again for the feedback.

I recently hired a mobile skip through the local Bunnings store. I made a mistake by not comparing the pricing. After I was charged $105 on my credit card for apparent excess weight. I had to take the word from the company regarding the extra weight and no control regarding the weighing process. I did very basic research afterwards and found that I could have hired a bigger skip for more than double the weight allowance for about 2/3 of the cost the Mobile Skips charged. Bingo quoted $350 for a 2 tonne skip for 14 days. I paid $560 with Mobile skips!!
Do you research and avoid being burned like me
Hi Dan, thanks for the feedback. Yes, Bingo Bins in Sydney do offer old fashioned skip bins and they have higher weight limits than a Mobile Skip. However for a comparable size (volume) , they are ...
Read moremore expensive than a Mobile Skip. Eg. A 3 cubic meter Bingo Bin (smaller than a Mobile Skip) is approx $570 in Sydney (plus council permit fees if leaving it on the street). The one you were quoted by Bingo is their 2 cubic meter bin, whcih holds more weight but is half the volume. If you are getting rid of mostly heavy stuff like bricks, sand, soil and concrete then they might be a better option. But for everything else Mobile Skips would be cheaper for the same volume.Questions & Answers
How much is a 6metre skip cost and how long can you keep it for.
Hi - is Ben one of your guys?
He asked me a question about Jenok wipers which I responded to, since he said he worked with Jenok.
His message has now disppeared from my account.
Or was this spam using your company name?
Hello Fred. Ben does IT support for Mobile Skips and coincidentally works with Jenok Wiper blades as well. It looks like he was signed in mistakenly as Mobile Skips when he replied to your comment. ...
Read more Mobile Skips and Jenok have no association. The owner of Jenok Wiper blades can be reached here - john@jenok.com.auOK I see.
The original message from Ben was:
"Hi Fred,...
how to they unload the mobile bin after they pick it up?
Hi Dabing, we have large front lift compactor trucks that pick up and empty our bins at our depots. The rubbish is then taken to our recycling facilities for sorting and recycling.
As Jacob has answered your question I strongly recommend the company.

Mobile Skips rents out skip bins for rubbish removal, whether you're doing anything from event management to commercial or home renovations.
It services most Australian major cities (including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Geelong, Perth, and Mornington Peninsula), and even lets you pick up your skip from Bunnings.
With its patented bin design, the company describes its bins as ‘smart,’ as they’re fitted with wheels, a thick double lid, and can also be padlocked. They’re also affordable to hire, while being twice the size of a mini skip.
You can choose from either a:
- standard skip bin, which is perfect for general household cleanup.
- heavy skip bin, which is more suited to builders waste.
Obtaining a council permit also isn't neccessary to have one of these skip bins on your premises.
Points of praise for Mobile Skips:
- The smooth and seamless service from start to finish provided by Mobile Skips was a common point of praise. Friendly and helpful staff from Mobile Skips were appreciated for being an absolute pleasure to deal with.
- Often there were little bonuses thrown into the service, which made it even better. This included bin delivery that was earlier than expected, supplying a padlock to secure the skip, and even providing complementary gardening gloves.
- The reliable service was a plus point, as skips arrived at the delivery address on time and were picked up ‘on demand’ in an efficient and timely manner.
Naturally, Mobile Skips is the 2022 Award Winner for Best Rubbish Removal Service for the second year in a row – as of January 2022, it basks in a 5-star rating from over 3,000 reviews. This achievement is thanks to great scores on its customer service and how timely it gets the job done.
