The product is easy to install, colour range is fair. Thankfully no more staining, painting. A quick hose down or light scrub with a little detergent and it’s back to new
Great product! Easy install and hard wearing
Great product and very easy to install! very slightly fades initially but after that it has been a hard wearing easy clean deck which looks fantastic. Would definitely recommend as a good wood alternative, with minimal maintenance if any!
Great deck for BAL40 fire protection
Quick service to get the samples.
We chose the brushed black bean in the Flame shield board, for our 72sm deck in the bush, it was bit more expensive but piece of mind that its not going to go up in flames.
As owner builders, it was easy to install on a Spantec steel frame with KlevaKlip; strong and no nail/screws to see.
We like the colour changes from dry to wet and weathering make it look so natural; just like timber but no maintenance.
Great service from Modwood on getting an extra length to finish the job.
Very good deck planking with no screw or nail fixing
We chose the 25 year guarantee Modwood as it does not scratch does not burn and colour fast for 25 years.
Our builder said that it was easy to install and looks great when all laid.
The samples we received give great insight
We received our samples and were able to make definite considerations to our projects. Though we are still in review of our projects, somewhat due to Covid restrictions, we are closer to starting.
Thank you ModWood
We have had our modwood deck for two years now, a pleasant grey colour. No maintenance required. The deck was laid quickly by a landscaper two men working on it.
Gangway to a floating Pontoon
These planks were cut into about 100 pieces, each 1.2 metres long and were the ideal material for this use. They have been laid now for about 1 year and seem to be just right for the job and non slip as well.
Solid and durable
We had some decking done out the side of our house in Black Bean about 3 years ago and we are delighted at how the product has lasted. It’s very easy to clean with no regular maintenance needed. We have a large dog and have not any increased wear and tear. Can’t fault Modwood and would use it again. I was also impressed that I could order free samples with free shipping.
Great for coastal application
We replaced extensive decking and installed new areas of decking and pathways with Modwood and could not be happier with the outcome.
The deck looks great and is wearing well after 12months.
So easy to install
Tech advise answered all my queries promptly regarding installation of xtreme board as plinth boards. Installing as decking boards was quick and easy. Once all the clips were installed, where most of the time
is required, the boards clipped into place beautifully. Seamless job and hardly any maintenance. Clients extremely happy.
Have not been able to use it yet - delays due to various reasons. Looking forward to getting started though.
I cannot review it yet as structure not yet built. From what I have seen and heard from other person's build, it looks good and was easy to work with.
Delivery of technical samples
The lockdown has cut the design industry from showroom visits, however Modwood’s delivery of samples to our office was prompt helping us to continue to deliver our services to clients on time.
After years of bare feet catching on deck nails it is such a pleasure to walk across our new Modwood deck with clip system. No NAILS, no snagging!!! The texture of the boarding also makes for a great look. The installing builder did a great job of getting a really flat surface for years of enjoyable outdoor living. The attached image was taken before the final clean so there are some muddy scuffs.
Used both wide and narrow decking for fence between house and boundary. Modwood has great texture and strong colour. Wanted something that would not require painting or oiling / staining and Modwood fitted the bill perfectly. My neighbours are impressed.
Thanks to Modwood for amazing product
This Modwood is perfect for ageing in place as we need to remove the old ones and got it replaced with Modwood decking. Installation was fast and the finished Products is nothing but wow. Would surely recommend this products to my clients henceforth" with "It has got all the lovely finish and we have from our previous decking. But Modwood added quality and all the hours spent on varnishing and sanding aren't required. Simply, it's so easy to install."
Questions & Answers
Our north facing deck was installed a few years ago and have had no problems until now where we appear to have a black mould appearing on the deck. Not sure how to deal with this. Any advice?
Please refer to Care & Maintenance guide on our website:
We have had a mod wood decking both top and bottom installed the upper level the wind from a West how's through and the decking howls's like anything what causes this
Cannot answer why wind howls through but we are very disappointed with our Modwood deck...it certainly is NOT maintenance free & scuffs & marks....was impregnated with red dust from recent bush fires. Very unhappy with product.
Disappointed with my modwood deck too, wish I had chosen to install a wood deck not modwood. Had it professionally installed, its warped and split where 50% of the screws have been placed, waste of money, told it would last 25 years and it was only 7years old when I started having problems. RE howling try covering part of deck to identify which part is howling, if its isolated to one spot maybe you can install some flashing to stop it. Steel Flashing can be made to any size with different angles of creases from a fabricator, is in most colourbond colours and is pretty cheap.
Our local Kingswood Council has used MODWOOD on their public boardwalk near Victory Park, Chelsea. I have been here for 10 years and it still looks perfect. They are planning to put MODWOOD on a new boardwalk further down. I wanted to put a new outdoor deck to replace our 10 years old breaking up merbau, which takes a lot of maintenance.....but now worried by your reviews.
I am most unhappy with the product...it fades, during the hot summer it became impregnated with red dust that was blowing around & because of water restrictions we could not hose; it scratches & we have been told the only way to get rid of the scratch marks is to hand sand with fine sandpaper!
I would definitely not recommend & go would investigate other decking materials
Hope this helps
Mary we were all set to get it done and then a friend who is a commercial painter recommended we researched it more as he had seen a lot of residential failures over the years. Maybe they use a different rating for commerical jobs.
