Saves water & makes washing up easier
Changing the kitchen sink mixer has improved water use and made washing up a lot easier.
Our old kitchen mixer was of the old fixed spout design with a lever handle that most of the family tended to raise more than needed and hence used a lot more water than was needed. Also, the low spout made it very difficult to manoeuvre large pots when washing up.
This new Mondella mixer has made washing up a breeze. The high curved goose neck design gave a lot more space to manoeuvre large items like woks and baking pans for hand washing. The pull out s...pout afforded more flexibility in directing water to where it’s needed. A large soft rubber button on the side of the spout turned the shower into a stream when required. This mixer is rated as 5 star at 6L per minute compared to the 9L per minute of the old, but I reckon we are using less than the 6L as I’ve noticed we do not turn the water control lever to the same extent / volume as we did with the old as the spray mechanism projects water more forcefully and lets us use the water more effectively. Initially, I was concerned that the pull out mechanism and the soft rubber control button may not stand up to daily wear and tear. But we have had the mixer for 1.5 years and it is still working as new with the pullout sprayer pulling out, retracting and staying put easily. The chrome finish is still super shiny and cleans easily with a soapy wipe.
Questions & Answers
Is mondella tapware lead free
Google it. From what I remember when I was researching my purchase, mine was brass with a chrome finish and a 10-year warranty.
Mondella Cadenza Vege spray kitchen tap works well, however, the spray head starts to leak from all sides when tap is on and leaks all night from the bottom sprayhead. Thanks to Bunnings who replaced the head free of charge with a generic brand, works good.
Can I purchase just the spray head? ie the part that screws onto the flexible Stainless Steel braided line. The design and construction of these heads seems poor in that the seal between the inner black plastic and the outer silver plastic does not have any o ring seal and is just a push fit and glued in place. when the tap is on there is a constant leak from between these two surfaces.
