Price on their website was competitive. I went to their actual store, did not bother to order online as that specific store's website indicated availability. The item at that price was not available. But a different brand, similar purpose, was available at $8 more. Not big bucks, but that is not the issue. Asked why I was able to order online and pick up from this specific store, man said their "stock inventory never accurate". I asked if he could check if another store would have that item, he said he "cannot check, nobody will have it".
Pretty Damn Good
firstly, let me clarify. their service is pretty bad. ive been to 3 different msy and all of the workers just doesnt provide good service. none of them seem to answer to phone and only answers emails occasionally, if at all.
However, it is undeniable that have the best prices in the market. due to their popularity and lowest prices, they always seem to be out of stock of the things you want the most, and their website is terrible and a straight up lie when it comes to stock availability.
it is clear that the people who work there are passio...
Was pleasantly surprised after reading all the bad reviews...
Went to the Kingsford NSW store to purchase my new laptop after it was recommended to me by my nephew who is in the IT business (read computer geek!). After reading all the reviews, I must say I was very apprehensive, and expecting the worst. Since I am a 50 something female who knows very little about technology, I was sure to have written down exactly what I had decided to buy after perusing their website and checking the specs of the HP model in my price range (which was very competitive) with said nephew. Arrived at store just after midd...ay on a Wednesday....no queue...I was the only customer! The Asian male assistant was very quick to attend to me and located the computer I required in seconds. He was very affable and gave service with a smile. I was out of there with what I wanted in less than 5 minutes. No issues with my new computer, which I hope will last as long as the 8 years my old one did!! :-) I'd happily return to MSY Kingsford.
Worst customer service, but cheap
Yes they are the cheapest, but expect to wait 15m-30min in line on a quiet day, the staff just stand there and don't even have the courtesy to ask you what you want, when I was to pay he just pointed at the table, I finally figured out there was a second PayWave terminal and I was waving at the wrong one. Seriously poor attitude. There is no phone, I called 4 times over 2 hours and there is no one answering after waiting 30min, you can't leave messages. Expect no support and no warranty unless you go to Office of Fair Trading to complain.
Cheap but that's all
The prices are cheap but you have to know exactly what you want. Don't ask for advice. MSY have a strange attitude to customers. Think "Soup Nazi". Customers are almost an inconvenience to the staff. Upon entering the store you will generally be met with a queue of "computer geeks". Service is slow with little regard shown to those queuing. Even once you reach the head of the queue, don't be surprised if the staff disregard you and discuss something amongst themselves in Chinese.
If you're buying small components, check what they give you....It may not always be what you asked for. As an example, rather than go through the pain of asking for components, I wrote them down exactly as they appear on the (very difficult to use) web site. I was still handed items that were not what I'd listed. Anyway, if you know exactly what you want and are prepared to queue to save a few dollars then MSY is for you. I won't go there unless I'm absolutely stuck.
