Nothing is perfect, but..... Mungi is close!
Following extensive reviews of ISPs in Australia, I finally settled on Mungi. Unfortunately, because my area was only recently FTTC enabled, Mungi's wholesaler didn't have the systems in place for an active connection. In the interim, I looked for other providers, but unfortunately the other ISP I had also selected could not get me connected until the end of September. Patience was the key, so I waited for Mungi, who were working with their wholesaler to get me connected. Eight weeks later I am finally connected for about a week, on the ...50/20 plan although I had originally signed up for 100/40 plan. Much has been said about Mungi dropping the 100/40 plan, and I am still sitting on the fence as to whether I need that extra speed. I was literally connected within 30 min of plugging in the supplied NCD, and then attaching the supplied DLink router. Abs from Mungi rang me and talked me through the setup of the router to get connected. So far the speeds have been extremely consistent (high 40s download, and high teens upload) at all times of the day. I do not see any congestion or dropouts. The highlight for me has to be the excellent customer service; it's beyond reproach. No question is too simple, and always answered promptly from knowledgeable staff. If you are looking for an NBN provider, with no setup fees, no lock-in contract, excellent customer service and a great NBN service, then look no further; Mungi is the ONE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Finally a review worth leaving!!
I signed up with internode, and was not impressed with their pricing. Two weeks later I approached the parent company tpg, and explained my situation to see if tpg would waiver the signup fee on some of their more affordable plans if I switched over to tpg the answer was no.
Mungi on the other hand, had my service up and running on the same day, with no connection fees, $6 dollars less and 4 x the speed nbn 12 to nbn 50.
Mungi right now might not suit customers looking for that nbn 100 plan right now, but the trade off for excellent service, and customer care is well worth it.
Good job Mungi while I continue to use the nbn, I will support your company.
you actually get what you pay for
Everything about mungi has been awesome great price great service and actually get the speed that we pay for.
Would recommend to everyone.
Great Customer Service
I requested the delivery address change for the modem which was no trouble. Time frame for setup was only two days. (requested Friday, activated Saturday). However, I had real trouble setting up the modem. It came pre-configured to the wrong settings and I (from the stone age) had to redo all the settings with help from the customer support people at Mungi (Sandra, you're a champion). This took a couple days but Customer Support walked me through it and made sure everything was running as it should.
The internet connection itself feels quite s...
Great customer support!
Churned from Telecube HFC to Mungi, although the set up process did take a week due to NBN's fault in switching providers, the guys at Mungi did a great job keeping me updated on their resolution process daily. Shoutout to Abs and Sandra for their prompt responses. Connection has been pretty solid and consistent speeds on NBN50 and no complaints at all. Would be great if they could also set up auto direct debit facilities in the future.
Love the customer service
This is my first time dealing with customer service without having to be on hold in the phone, replying messages super quick and on top of that the speed is good. Happy
Mungi - excellent customer service
Moved NBN service to Mungi - competitive pricing, unlimited data and no lock-in contract. Very prompt and friendly service from Australian based centre. Speeds tend to fluctuate more than with my previous ISP (Optus), and porting my home phone number took longer than expected, and Mungi forgot to send a confirmation email....but really no complaints.
Responsive, sorts things out quickly
Being a new customer moving to a new home, we did not want to continue with the Telco we'd been with for years, due to disappointing speeds and poor service. Mungi have been outstanding from the start, did everything they said they would, and responded to all our queries quickly. Keep up the good work.
November 21st 2018 Update: No Internet
Were great, till I paid for my 4th month in a row and a few days later got disconnected because they've gone into voluntary liquidation.
Hopefully I get a refund for a month I cannot use!
Mungi = THE BEST (believe me when i say that)
Where can I start from? Ok, here is my life story. These guys genuinely care about customer service. Their level of support (even after hours) is incomparable to no one. I had some issues with NBN a few days ago. There was some upgrade work done in the area I live in and this resulted in me losing my internet. There apparently was a database mis-match that caused my address to disappear from the NBN’s system. Believe me when I say, I tried ringing everyone and I must have spoken to NBN customer care for more than 20 times in those 5 days. NBN c...onstantly asked me to chase this up with my ISP as there was nothing they could do. I am a Uni student and internet for me is a lot of things, including lectures, assignments, research and a whole lot of Youtube. I have been with Mungi for a few months now and have always been appreciative of their work. So, when my internet disappeared, I straight forwardly blamed them and at the heat of the moment decided to pull out and go with a different ISP (Aussie Broadband). But, despite me signing up with a new provider, the problem was not resolved. I waited for 2 days to see if they could resolve it for me, but no they couldn’t and the problem was still there. This is when I realised, my problem had nothing to do with the ISP and it was more to do with the NBN itself. I did not wait to cancel with the new ISP I had signed up with, as my problem was not resolved and I would rather go back to the ISP I was with if I had to wait. I came back to Mungi, because their service and level of care towards their customers is unbelievable, Period. Despite, me having cancelled Mungi’s services to my address 3 days ago, I was welcomed back with open arms and not only this, …….boy did they escalate my problem with NBN, yes they did and got me live in less than 24 hours. Please don’t think that I have been paid to write this review on their behalf. I am a genuine customer who wants value for money and I am not ashamed in any way to say that Mungi is able to provide that to me. I highly recommend them. If you are looking forward to signing up with a new ISP, please consider them at least for once, for your own sake.
Have been with Mungi for the last 8 months. Speeds for nbn25 are good, no problems with the service whatsoever. Never have had to contact support in regards to service issues, as I have had none so far. Customer service (i.e. live chat + website information) is very good. Totally recommended.
Great product and competent staff
I transferred from another ISP recently as I wanted a more stable connection. Couldn't be happier with Mungi so far. on my NBN50 VDSL connection. Great connectivity via the ColoAU transit network, no problem with streaming video from the USA, and downloads are noticeably quicker than my previous ISP.
The big winner is that the Mungi staff are competent. They understand their systems, and can give factual answers to questions, rather than guessing like so many call centre staff are prone to do.
All went as advertised.
Getting connected was simple. Voip phone works well. Internet working very well with good speed. Dlink modem was mostly already setup including use of the public DNS. Would recommend Mungi for sure.
Internet speed and and customer service...the perfect combo!
Great speed on NBN50, Easy and simple to contact in the event of an issue with their ticket system, best ISP around and about $35 cheaper than Telstra. Very happy with my service.
Good speeds. Excellent support.
Signed up for NBN50 plan couple of months back after moving away from Aussie Broadband since I wanted unlimited data without paying a big premium. Speeds have been consistently good in both peak and off-peak periods and after moving across to their amazing L2 network, international speeds have improved massively. Contacted support just once and the issue was resolved very promptly. I can easily recommend this NBN provider for it's value for money plans and high levels of customer service.
Brilliant customer service
I just connected with Mungi so can't comment on network performance but wanted to share my experience going through the installation.
I applied online for NBN plan with Mungi. As I was in a desperate need of Internet connection I jumped to their chat box and asked if anything could be done to speed up the process. Engineer replied within seconds saying he's looking to my application. Literally 2 minutes later he called me to advise he set up my connection and I'm good to go. I didn't believe him as was still in office and couldn't check it. ...I got home couple of hours later and was astonished to find connection was up and running. Being lazy person I rarely leave product reviews. However, thought it would be unfair for me not to do so this time.
Mungi best ISP in Australia
Having moved from original ISP to Mungi, I was having issues in setting up modem as was keeping my own modem. One short email to Mungi and I had instant responses frim numerous staff at Mungi, all eager to help. The issue was fixed right away and am enjoying fast (45Mpbs in the evening) and no problems with stability. If only all ISP’s were as good
Great customer service
Mungi has a pretty good customer service. They replied my request in a few minutes which is so great. Will update the review when I get my internet.
Great customer service but I was informed my 100 mbps service will be downgraded to 50 mbps which is a bit odd. No thank you looking elsewhere.
Removed 100/40 Product, Poor future planning
Mungi's network is in shambles, with a stalling Layer 2 build, and financial issues that have resulted in them cancelling their 100/40 product, and cancelling already paying customers 100/40 connections, and changing them to 50/20.
Removed 100/40 plans and scrapped discounts when being forced to 50/20
While they respond quickly in regards to tech support for the most part, it doesn't excuse them removing plans and stripping the discounts from current plan owners. I understand their reasoning for removing 100/40 plans, but to deny current customers the discount they were being given previously is kind of dodgy.
Overall, while the people who work there are friendly and responsive (apart from FTTC connections, radio silence on that part), the service doesn't take care of loyal customers and is actively punishing them for no reason.
Were great but removed 100/40
I'm pretty annoyed but didn't feel right rating them any lower than 3 considering how good they WERE. With the discontinuation of 100/40 plans I have to look elsewhere unfortunately. Shame as i couldn't have been happier with the service and support I recieved until now.
Recommended if you're happy with 50/20 though.
Very good company with 24/7 help.
Unlimited Nbn50 plan at a very affordable price. Online and sms support is literally 24/7. I’m loving Mungi already. Keep up the good work and the promise for internet speed!!
Great service, fast response times
Have recently signed up with Mungi after doing a bit of research on the internet.
They arranged everything with the installation, and had fast responses for any of my questions.
Great support and service.
Service has been virtually flawless, and any issues have been swiftly resolved by their excellent customer service. Their customer service has been the only one I've dealt with that doesn't patronize you and has extensive technical knowledge.
Have recently switched to Mungi, and very happy with the service, have had no issues so far. Customer service is great, i was surprised to get a response back from the chat box even at night at 9pm. Give it try, value for money and you have nothing to loose no lock in contract.
