Home loan fixed interest rate ended which converted to variable. Paying higher interest at the moment. They're making me jump through hoops to get a new low at a fixed rate. NAB is happy to keep me on a higher interest rate. Need to submit new documents to get on the lower fixed rate. What a joke. Will be taking my business elsewhere with a lower fixed rate.
Customer service does not keep on top of application process. Making me wait months on end to get the loan approved. Very difficult to deal with.

I wish I hadnt
I have Nab a loan that I applied with through Nab. constantly not in touch with me. Unable to provide details and constantly had me chasing them rather than the other way around. I stupidly was lured with low interest rates but they even sneak in fees they were meant to have waived for me. They are horrible!

A company that could literally make a strong, grown man cry.
Applied for home loan with this bank on 15th July with a promise to have a decision by 20th July. On 20th July afternoon, the bank said all looking good and loan documents will be with me by end of today. Nothing received, almost lost the house we loved but at the last minute, received an extension.
On Monday, 23rd July, called in the afternoon, spent over an hour and was told that documents will be generated this afternoon. Later on Monday, called again and a sudden shock. NAB advise that mortgage may not be approved and they need to review t...
Most Pathetic, unreliable, unprofessional, time waster I have found NAB home loan specialists
Most Pathetic, unreliable, unprofessional, time waster I have found NAB home loan specialists (Leo) who I was told one of the seniors but I found him not more than a very immature who specialises in nothing but to harm NAB’s already troubled reputation. Took my 4 weeks when I have provided every single document again and again and he end up closing my application without my consent when asked for an update. Shame on you Leo.

Amazing staff, process and ongoing support Bundall Branch. Carly is amazing
I cant fault the Bundall Branch in any area.
Carly who does the home loans is AMAZING, we were looking to purchase a property and she was recommended by a friend and i can see why.
She got us an amazing deal and is great with communication. We gave her all of the documents, she told us what to expect, even mentioning some great hints & tips things that weren't just home loan related but also property or lifestyle related. We received formal approval and prior to settlement made sure everything was ready to go, again knowing what to expect. ...

TOOOOOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOOOOOW Process
Applied for Construction loan by the broker. It took 3 weeks to get a conditional letter and 4 weeks to get an unconditional letter. Despite of providing all documents during submission again asked for the same doc twice.
LACC posted a week ago still didn't receive. All this paperwork could be sent by email to faster the process.
Due to their slow process, my construction price increased 3% up now.
Will re-finance as soon as 2 year period end. Never ever again NAB
NAB had been requesting documents one after the other for every 2-3 days for my recent request for topping up the current loan by $45000. Given the commitment of this would be sort of around $250 monthly extra, they had been questioning each and every part of the application one at a time for the last 3 weeks. If all the documents were requested at a single time it make sense. I had an increase of $2000 dollar take home salary in the last 5 months which is logically sufficient enough to justify a $250 increase in liability. As i cannot be bothe...red providing documents one after the other, i had withdraw my application and planning to refinance my loan with another bank. Terrible service which does not seem to respect existing customer by any means.
beware of NAB overcharging your repayment
I got a home loan renew with NAB in Mar, with interest rate slightly lower than before. And when it comes to my repayment day in Apr, I was surprised to find that they charged a lot more than what I was paying when I had a higher interest rate. Contacted NAB, waited over a month, nothing happened. Filed a complaint, waited another two weeks, and they still couldn’t do the math right! At a lower interest rate, I should be paying a lower installment. It is that simple. The resolution team member seems to be always sick and away when you call thei...r phone. After all the waiting and calls and emails, they finally presented me with a lower installment amount, which, according to them, is like a goodwill thing! This is a kind reminder to anyone who wants to bank with NAB. Please beware of them overcharging you!
From end of January till now.
It's a nightmare that seems never end.
Can you imagine that every promise can be pushed a week after weeks.
And you try to contact your banker today...got the reply 2-3 days later is so commen, then asking you for another paper or document then disappeared.
Said the application has been put in...a week later...tell you the document is faulty which can't be opened, change it and signed the contract so we can put in the application! I'm too stupid to understand how can a application been put in after "THE" application.
Some words that the ba...

Exceptional Service - Cant think of anything better
The feedback given on NAB on this forum could be misleading. I was experiencing the opposite. I believe that NAB serves millions of customers. There could be a few misses here and there. Would be nice if people who had positive experience could add their reviews.
To be honest I was nervous after reading through the comments in this forum. I got my pre-approval back in December. Given that all my accounts were maintained with NAB, they took only 1/2 an hour to grant me pre-approval. Finally once I found a house in January I followed up ever...y single day, as the reviews on this forum made me worried. The time line has been provided below: - Contract of sales was provided on the 29th of January -Valuation was done on the 31st of January (Wednesday) -Loan became unconditional on the 2nd of February (Friday) The mortgage specialist Maqsood was helpful. He was very patient and always responded whenever I sent an email. I was assigned a relationship banker (Dionne) who contacted me every other day. I was always informed about what was happening around with my loan.
Still waiting for approval, 4 months later
Currently trying to get a home loan with NAB, not keen to put all the details yet as we are still hoping to get approval in time. Applied for loan in early January, Finance approval was meant to be on the 14th of March 2018. There was a hold up with their valuation, it took far longer than expected, we have been verbally approved weeks after contract date, the people taking care of the loan application are constantly changing, and not returning calls or emails, Have called NAB support team several times, which usually initiates a response. Whe...re we are told all is fine, don't worry..yet nothing more happens, All verbal assurances but no paperwork, settlement date is May 7th. This has caused many arguments and a lot of stress, at no point did we think it would take 4 months and still not be finished. Given the choice I would not have applied through NAB. If we do not get approval before settlement we lose our deposit and will be sued for what ever expenses the Vendor has incurred due to the sale of the house, about to contact the ombudsman, and try applying for another loan. Was meant to be so much easier than this, save yourself a lot of stress, look at other lenders first, I thought it would be easier with NAB as I have banked with them my whole life and they were one of the bigger banks, but it doesn't make a difference.
Worst customer service ever
NAB home loan specialist has overlooked all paper work details and lied bluntly multiple times about who’s fault it was and timelines on when my loan would be available to be drawn down. She paid my existing loan off through my partners name somehow???? And then blamed it on a system glitch and didn’t fix it because “it would slow the process down”, instead she waited for my house to settle (so unprofessional). Have rang multiple times and left complaints with complaints dept and finally got one person to compensate my time and effort after ro...ughly 30 phone calls all at least 20 mins long but loan is still being processed after 5 and a half months. I’ve been out of pocket $93188.50 for the past 2 weeks from this experience as I’ve had to pay my builder in the meantime from another loan which is a lot more interest but she doesn’t care. This is my fourth home loan over 15 years with NAB and even got my partner to get her loan with them too. As soon as this loan is done we are transferring to another bank and would recommend everyone I know to do the same because they just don’t seem to care about their customers. Admittedly, the lady I’m working through did tell us this was her first construction loan but not in a million years did I think it would take this long and that she was not trained what so ever in her job. So frustrating because I reallly did not want to have to change all my banking details, with loans and Nab trade and work but this can’t keep up.
Incompetent and impossible to deal with
I took out a construction loan and the loan process has been very cumbersome and despite my loan being approved a year ago the bank has not yet paid the first progress payment, which was due 3 months ago, to my house construction company. When I try to find out why and after speaking to several people on the general contact number, they tell me there is no problem and I just need to sign a release form which they forgot to send me. After signing it straight away and sending it back I don’t here anything and assume it’s done but get a demandi...ng email 6 weeks later asking for it to be paid. I don’t know what I have to do to get them to pay out the pre approved loan. I keep ringing them and they tell me they will call back when they find out what is wrong but never do.
NAB waste of time
As first home buyers we were excited in finally save 5-10% and being able to apply for our very first home loan. We applied online and everything was going well until 2weeks had past and we still had no answer?
Called the home loan specialist lender and he informed me our application had been declined only because we have a bad credit rating. Not once did he mention to “check your credit score before applying for a home loan”, and now we won’t be able to apply anywhere for 5-7years! NAB What a joke should be guiding people to achieve there goals not going through the whole loan processes knowing you will be declined automatically having bad credit.
Never gonna take NAB home loan again
Very bad experience. Ask them to extend interest only – no way, you have go for a new application. Ask them to change monthly to weekly repayments – they divide monthly repayment by 4. Not like times by 12 and then divide by 52. They charge the interest a day after repayment so that balance go up and they can charge higher interest. Their internet banking site is very bad. Feel like I trapped. So already start looking for refinance just within a year.
NAB are fantastic
we swapped banks to NAB took our home loan , and 2 investment properties , one we share with our daughter, and they were just brilliant. the work that loans manager did for us was amazing. she worked and worked at it. we even got our 350,000.00 rewards.
