There quote was miss leading
Ask how much to store goods per week, $35, sent me an invoice for $85 per week. They knew how large my move was and yet they didn’t change the quote until I got there invoice at the end.
It was never going to be $35. They then gave a discount to $50 per week.
Do not use national removals
We used National Removals for a move from Brisbane to Melbourne. Where do I start with the review? They cannot give you a firm date/time for the furniture pick up and they only provide a 2 week window for delivery. Our delivery took 3.5 weeks!!!! They subcontract all their jobs out so there is no consistency. When we called them to ask for a time for pick up as nothing had been conveyed to us, they threatened to cancel our order. The office Manger is a narcissistic control freak, i.e. if you dare to comment on their lack of professionalism ...or their disorganisation or simply say, " that's not good enough that you can't give me an indication of the time for pick up she just flat out cancels the order". The removalist they had subcontracted turned up at the same time she cancelled it and they took the job and ignored her. They said, "we get lots of complaints about the National Removals, just go through us direct next time". The furniture was picked up by 1 company, stored for another week in Brisbane picked up by another company and basically had been moved 3 times before it was delivered and damaged to our Melbourne address. Do yourself a favour and use an owner/operator.
Dishonest scum. Avoid these rogues
Move of two rooms of valuable furniture from Queensland to Victoria.
They promise careful packaging and loading, and safe transit in one of their vans.
In reality, they sub contract out, have no control over the load, the items are manhandled several times, and they even use the railways. The furniture arrived with extensive damage. All pieces were damaged and require thousands of dollars of restoration. If that is even possible.
They then refuse to respond to your phone calls and emails.
Take my advice. Avoid these disreputable scum bags.
Warning do not use National
We moved interstate from Victoria to Queensland and it was a nightmare.
The company sub contracts out the work so you don’t know who you’ll get. We got old mate removals... yep!!!
They turned up 9:30pm to pack our house- who does that!
They were meant to call the day before for delivery but I had to call them and when they responded they said they’d be there in 4 hours on a Sunday.
The worst part I was assured they had no problem with moving the furniture up stairs to first floor with easy access but when the truck arrived the deiver said ...I’m not moving anything up there!!! That was the majority of our belongings:( I had to do it myself. So many other bad things happend but you get it. Spend a bit more if you have to it would be worth it!!!
*WARNING* DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
We moved interstate with National and they seemed great at first right up until we tried to arrange delivery.
Before I get to the negative points of this review, I will mention that both our removalist teams were friendly, helpful and professional. Couldn’t have been better guys. It is the office and their inaccurate, inefficient and defensive communication that created our extremely poor experience
The first issue we encountered was that we were initially told we needed to give 3-5 days notice for redelivery. It was at this point that we we...re told they only deliver once a week. So despite us giving them 8 days notice, we had to wait an extra week because our lease start date was the day after their only delivery date. An issue that could have be avoided if we had been told this while making the initial booking. While making the booking for re-delivery they asked us about the new property and we informed them it was a two story townhouse and the person on the phone looked up the address on google maps and sighted the townhouses. We also informed them that they couldn’t block the driveway to the complex with their truck. After this we made a complaint because we were understandably miffed by having to with camp in an empty townhouse or pay for alternative accommodation. It is at this point we first experienced the manager. She was defensive, arrogant and spoke over the top of my wife repeatedly. My wife gave up with verbal communication with her and instead on communicated via email after this point. And from this point onwards all communication with the office was initiated by us. They made no effort to communicate proactively which lead to yet more issues.
Car arrived damaged
Car transported from VIC to WA, arrived severely damaged, with dents and scratches. Also took a very long time to arrive (a friend had their car sent by another company AFTER us and it arrived in WA BEFORE ours). Would not recommend. Customer service very poor when I rang to report damage, no support whatsoever.
Bad customer service, ripped off , goods stolen
Absolutely disgraceful, don’t use these guys, charge a fortune, very dishonest, we even had equipment stolen from us that never got returned when they said they had chased it up and said it was on the way. Many emails sent with no professional assistance what’s so ever. Makes my blood boil that they take all your money and then don’t care what happens after that!! The shouldn’t be able to continue to trade!!
The worst furniture removal company ever!
My furniture was uplifted from Melbourne to Alice Springs. Had misleading information about actual dates of arrival. When my furniture arrived in Alice Springs, I noticed damages on my dinning table and worse!...they lost my a support beam to my bed frame. I made enquiries via phone call to speak to the driver who was en-route to Darwin. I left messages on his voicemail to call me back about my lost item but never got back to me. I am very disappointed with the level of service and unprofessionlism displayed by this company. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone out there.
Disappointed and dissatisfied customer.
Misleading and a complete disappointment
This company is very misleading about timeframes and doing what they promise. It was a very small move of boxes and bedroom goods. The move was Sydney to Melbourne. They were supposed to call with a pick up time and rang 5 minutes before arriving at 7am. delivery was promised for Thursday..... didn't phone and then when phoned finally said Saturday with a 6 hour wait timeframe - s didn't get to go to a paid for event. But they didn't turn up on Saturday at all and then when contacted again said Sunday 10am.... finally arrived at 1pm after going to the wrong address. Really...save yourself the angst that we went through and don't use this company.
1 bedroom move with little furniture. Items were moved from ACT to NSW. The removal DID NOT start nor end on time resulting in myself missing my flights and forking out for an additional night’s accommodation and flights. I had called up on 2 separate occasions informing the company that I had more goods for transportation than anticipated and was happy to be billed for it and informed them ahead of time that I would need more space and time for my job.
I was called at 6.27pm the day before the pick up day and told to expect pickup between 6a...
Terrible unprofessional service
I got two quotes from them and the first one they over quoted by a lot. I then got another one for much less stuff and got quoted $1500 when I ready to go ahead they emailed and said they had "mistakenly" under quoted and said my move would now cost $2200. Very unprofessional and not happy at all. Will not be chocking them at any cost. Lost my business.
Absolute nightmare!! AVOID AVOID AVOID
First of all, it's very important that you acknowledge that national removals don't actually move your goods. They sub contract other companies to do it for them so you don't actually know which company will rock up. In my case, it was 1800REMOVALS. Both companies were incompetent morons. National removals were so good at locking me in etc but when the cracks started to show, they threw me to the wolves. So rude and condescending.
1800REMOVALS did not arrive for two days after the scheduled move date and I was never advised. Both companies ...knew nothing and never called. Long story short, my goods arrived two weeks after the scheduled delivery date. Their communication was horrendous. Do yourself a favour. Use a reputable company and pay more. You'll thank me later.
Damage goods and unreliable delivery times. You have been warned!
Damaged goods in transit, the company didn't care and no resolution offered. Was only a one bedroom move plus a 125cc motor scooter. From word go I was confused over the area I have rented and was under the impression I had rented or purchased more room than I had which became apparent to me of the changes after I have made a deposit. Tried to sell me an insurance policy not required to have, by law the company handling your goods needs to have an insurance policy against damage which they obviously don't have (hire them at your own risk you ha...ve been warned) I felt after the monies were paid the level of service dropped. I changed my inventory by a few items (all which would fit in 3 cubic square meters the area I have purchased) and the price increased significantly due to a calculation on their end despite my direct explanation of the changed items. This resulting in some of my items having to be left behind in Queensland. Now I have to have them posted down, that's right. It is cheaper to have the left behind boxes posted than to add to the load I had paid for! Figure that one out... I am glad to have this experience over it has not been pleasant at all. Going to cost me hundreds to repair or replace goods. I sent a message saying the service was excellent until my goods didn't arrive on time resulting in me finding them damaged and having to either pay more to the storage unit they were delivered to for them to deliver them to me and had to make two 80km round trips to recover the goods myself. Very disappointing I have to leave items behind (only boxes nothing furniture related) Very disappointed in this service and would not recommend this company to anyone needing all their items to arrive undamaged or in the same condition. At the very least a confident and frustration free experience. I am glad this experience is over! Please stay away and choose another entity.
I was moving interstate a one bedroom apartment where we sold off most of our furniture before hand. This company are possibly the most useless people I have dealt with. At first it seemed easy, they were back-loading our things so it was quite cheap and you could edit your inventory online. Then closer to the move things went down hill quickly! Firstly they moved the pick up time forward a week and told us on the Thursday afternoon the new pick up date was Saturday which meant we had to finalise and pay the inventory by Friday morning! After f...rantically trying to finish packing and creating a correct inventory around our work (because this is all happening on weekdays) I managed to get the new inventory and pay off the new quote (which had only gone up by about 20% even though we had quite a few additions) and because of the change they let me pay by Friday late rather than morning. Then on Friday afternoon they change the pick up date to now be Monday, but don't tell the actual truckie doing the work so he calls on Saturday and asks whether instead of coming that day (because he didn't know of the changes) would we be ok with doing it Sunday, to which we gave the affirmative because we were ready at this point. Then when the truck arrives he still has the OLD inventory and so has to make note of the all the extra items (which I'd already informed and payed for). So I think this will be the last mess around and now that the truck has picked everything up I can get a scheduled day of arrival so I can prepare for the unloading. But no. I called twice to ask when the truck would arrive and got the "we'll give you a call back today after I speak to the logistics manager" and never got a call back! So the third day I stayed on hold while they checked only to be told by a nation wide company that they had no idea what day the truck was arriving (seriously?!) and that I should call back in another week because they'd have a better idea then. So I'm stuck with my furniture on the move and no way to book a storage container because I don't know when I'll see it! Then it gets even better because apparently they have tacked on ANOTHER 20% extra cost for "items that weren't on the inventory". When I queried this they admitted that yes the driver had the wrong inventory but they checked and this really was extras. So I then asked how the addition of a few more items (and the subtraction of others that weren't there, because they listed the pedestal fan in its box differently to me listing it as a box) somehow costs the same as when I added substantially more items then that (refer to previous inventory change above). To which there answer was that they estimated the floor space for my other inventory to be only 7m3 and when they packed it all it was 9m3 so the charge was for the extra 2m3... to which I can only think, "how was YOUR estimate so wrong on my original invoice!?" Because the extra items they listed sure don't take up 2m3 and I did my inventory based on the actual measured dimensions of my boxes and referenced it to the dimensions of the boxes they had available to choose from. So all in all they have bad customer service, bad quoting service, unprofessional logistics management, and I will NEVER use them again. It seems they are cheap for a reason.
Avoid these scum bags
Nothing but scum missing items. Broken items $3000 + in damages. Email i sent the company.
The $ 2645 is only the broken and damaged items there are still items not delivered, I will attach the list again as I sent it to the insurer. The total claim is $ 3634.00 including the items missing.
Have tried contacting the delivery company to find out where the items are with on luck. They will not answer my phone calls or return phone calls or emails.
