Our Navman MiVue 745 dashcam works very well; we just inserted the SD card, plugged it into the 12v socket and it does its thing. It's simple to download the videos you want to keep on a pc etc. I agree with others that the suction cup falls off when the windscreen gets hot. I have considered getting the 3M holder for it but prefer to bring the camera in the house if the car is standing in the sun on the driveway for a long time. For our second car I'm getting the Navman 1100 Sensor XL which is supposed to withstand higher temperatures.

Good Camera for the price suction mount is a weak point.
Bought this back in June and installed it in my dads car a Mazda 3 made sure the glass was really clean used alcohol cleaner etc. Mounted the dash cam up and its been fine many months that was until we moved and now the car is parked on the driveway where the windscreen is in full sun for most of the day and now the mount just lets go its fine if the temp hasn't been hot but if there is a few days of low 30's or a one hot day of 35c there is no hope of it staying on. Where it was parked previously the driveway was in sun but a lot was filtered by trees.

-easy to use but the charger end is very limiting
-needs another separate accessory to constantly record while park mode
-record quality is clear but i am not sure if plate numbers are readable

Plug & go feature was why we chose this. Very easy to set up, mounts to windscreen firmly, doesn’t impede view. Playback is clear. Only issue was that 1st leaflet in box warns that they only recommend 3 SD cards. As the ad hadn’t said this, we had bought a different one which fit the ad description. Had to return the card & replace with the more expensive one.

I bought a Navman Mivue 745 yesterday, but I've noticed it does not turn off when I leave and lock the car. I went back and checked 15 minutes later and it was still recording. Why would this be??
I'm not sure why that would be. Mine is plugged in through the 12v socket and turns off when the car ignition is off. I suggest asking Navman Support for advice on it.

Regarding your query, we may need to request for additional information to confirm as to why the device does not turn off automatically when the car is turned off.
Can you please confirm you are using Smartbox or if the cigarette lighter port has direct power from the car’s battery? This may be the reason why the device stays on even when the car is off. If you are not using a Smartbox or if the cigarette lighter does not have direct power from the car’s battery, can you please try the device with another power source such an AC adapter and check if it will go off automatically when unplugged? The device should turn off automatically when it is disconnected from the power source.

Hi there, there is no smartbox attached. It's just plugged into my cigarette lighter port using the cable provided. I am unsure if this has direct power from the cars battery, but would have thought it was the standard. It's a Ford Focus 2017 model. I don't have any adapters, but i could try using a normal USB cable and connecting this to my cars USB port instead?

We have mivue750 WiFi navman and bought in October 2019 and was told today the battery isn't holding its charge. Have tried to get a current footage but having difficulty in this due to poor battery life. Thought we was purchasing a good brand but not so sure.

• The built-in battery’s function is to allow the device time to save video files to the memory card in the event of the power supply being suddenly severed.
• The device is designed to function only when connected to a constant power source. If you wish to utilize the park mode feature, you will need to install a power box such as the MiVue Smart Box hardwired to your car’s battery. To test if the internal battery is holding enough charge to perform the correct shutdown, please follow these steps:
a. Connect the device to your Navman in-car power adaptor or an AC Adaptor (5v, 2amps) for at least 30 minutes
b. Cease power to the device by turning off the power source or removing the cable from the device
c. The device should shut down after 2 seconds or more.
