Fast, stable connection
Far-reaching, consistent coverage
Simple to remotely manage
Netgear Orbi RBR10 (router + 2 satellites)
Usually networking stuff is tricky and you hit headaches in setup. I found this brilliant in comparison. This model just hooks into your existing modem, runs through an easy configuration setup and away you go.
I’ve purchased network extenders before that I would have sworn were just an LED inside an empty box (ie they didn’t help coverage at all) but after a number of years my whole family is finally wrapped with the result.
I can’t give this product a bigger rap than just saying it’s easy & it works.

I needed a mesh router and decided for Orbi RBK50 mostly because the dedicated backhaul(wireless or wired). This is the key difference with other products like Nest Wifi. In my case the Orbi router is in the garage while the satellite is upstairs connected by wire. It's enough to cover a 36 squares house with 5Ghz WiFi. Also wifi extends outdoor with no problem using the 2.4Ghz. On Amazon I also found wall brackets for it.
Purchased in April 2020 at Harvey Norman for $538.00.
RBK50 took us From 22mbps to 48mbps on a NBN50 plan
Before we got the orbi we just used our Exetel supplies modem. We always had issues with drop outs and speed. Never approached anywhere near the 50mbps on wifi.
We got the orbi RBK50 kit for $508 as it had been opened previously and wasn’t “fresh” stock. Once home I used the satellite to link our tv PS4 and Apple TV into the satellite. This improved out Netflix and gaming issues.
All other devices on wifi now have great coverage in the house and routinely get 45+mbps on wifi. Game devices (PS4, switch) have much improved pings also.
Purchased in March 2019 at Officeworks for $508.00.
Awesome product Orbi RBK50 + Satellite
I replaced the standard Sagemcom F@st 3864 v3 supplied with Optus NBN with Netgear Orbi RBK50 + 1 Satellite unit. Never had any problems; easy setup, fast speeds, instant connection, awesome wireless range. Very happy with the quality and overall product.

Orbi RBK50 + 1 Satelite provides seamless coverage for a family in highset home
We struggled with Wifi connectivity and limited devices on ISP's issued modem/router. It was so frustrating. We decided to get a mesh system and selected Orbi. It required someone with better knowledge than we had to get it to work with the ISP's modem/router but once up and running, it was seamless. Our family puts it through it's paces with home business, mulitiple laptops and smart devices. Drop outs are ISP related and never the ORBI. The only trouble we have had (which appear to be just bad luck for us) is registration issues that led ...to problems working with the integrated Netgear Armor security. We have been working with Netgear directly for months. We have been treated well and hope to get it resolved. I also am VERY happy with the integrated Disney Circle and it was worth the money to pay for the subscription for extra services.
Purchased in July 2019 at JB Hi-Fi for $455.00.
Sensational performance. Had NBN it in on the highest speed tier available for HFC. Have the Orbi router at the back of the house and the satellite at the front. I’m getting close to 100mb in e be my room of a single story 5 bedroom house, and also from the footpath at the front of my house...

Perfect solution to better coverage and good speed
So happy I bought the netgear Orbi. I live in a long narrow townhouse where the internet port is at the rear of the house. I now have full coverage upstairs, at the front of the house and in the yard. I have one Orbi router and two satellites. Probably overkill but it works so well. Speeds are now 5 times faster. That’s right, before was 8Mbps, now I am consistently getting 47Mbps. Very easy to set up with the app. Highly recommend. Expensive but worth every dollar.

Excellent wifi - Very happy with purchase - Ethernet Backhaul is great
My old modem was getting on 7 years, so decided to buy a router for my four bedroom two story home. I decided on the Netgear Orbi RBK20, with the base router and one satellite.
Setup out of the box was very easy. Following the iOS orbi app was pretty easy and I had no trouble with the Orbi firmware update which prompted to run after a few minutes. I also love the ability to set up a separate guest wifi, that doesn't have access to the home network.
The wifi performance is very good. When I initially set up the satellite, the app said that...the wireless connection back to the base was average due to several walls (including a bathroom). However the reason that I bought this is that I could also connect the two devices with a wired Ethernet connection, significantly increasing the stability of the network. This was super easy to do after a quick google search which took me to a netgear page. I'm very happy with my purchase. Would recommend.

Absolutely love my Orbi
Best decision ever to buy the Orbi. Having a large, double brick house, getting wifi in every room was hard. Over the years we tried many things, but nothing worked in every room.
That was until we bought the Orbi, we now have perfect reception in every room. It’s fast, never drops out and was so easy to set up.
It wasn’t cheap, but it was so worth it.

Netgear Orbi RBK50-100 Tri-band wifi satellite and extender
100% recommend this product. It is worth every cent. Doubled MBPS throughout house (close to 100MBPS), the set up was a little fiddly, we have pretty good IT knowledge. Once connected all devices switched over. Without the Orbi internet speed was intermittent. We run off NBN (was better on Cable). Purchased from JBHiFi in Prahran, female consultant very knowledgable about product. Thank you

Finally full coverage
This has finally solved all of the coverage issues we were experiencing with a single WiFi solution. It was easy to set up but be aware it doesn't include a modem so turned my old WiFi Modem/Router into a modem only and connected up the Orbi.
Purchased in May 2019 at Costco.
Best thing I have ever bought.
Thanks to orbi I now have i internet throughout the whole house and also outside where i previously could not get any internet. Can definitley recommend this to anybody who has problems with wifi distance.

Brilliant, the difference is staggering
We linked up to the NBN and the internet speeds were TERRIBLE! 0.5 - 5.7mbs on a good day using Netgear's earlier system. It dropped out regularly too requiring us to reboot the modem. We even had a tech guy come out and try and tweek it but to no avail.
We upgraded to the Orbi Netgear system and BOOM the speeds went up to to over 30mbs!!! I can't rave enough about it. - we had 2 extenders included for a our large house. Expensive but worth every penny.
Easy to install, zero dropouts and copes well with multiple users too.
Don't waste your money on cheaper systems. You have to get this system. You will not regret it.
Amazing product! saved all our wifi issues
Our IT guy set one of these up at home as the modem is in the office but it needs to service devices such as Apple TV, Streaming Hifi (Naim Audio) plus all our devices.
Since we've ad this there has been almost zero problem with wifi as we've had in the past.
connectivity is excellent, it was quick and easy to set up and the reach for signal is impressive.
i would highly recommend one of these for anyone that relies on strong wifi for all devices.
Great Product, it states and it delivers
I had minimum bar levels with my router downstairs so when I installed the RBK50 it delivered what it stated. I am very happy overall with its performance as the speeds are very good ensuring very good WiFi coverage downstairs. Foxtel Go works very good with very minimal or hardly any video buffering.
I highly recommend this product.
Orbi Solved all problems
I bought the Orbi Ac3000. This solved every problem I had with the net. I have approximately 22 devices connected to the net and there is no lag anywhere. Streaming with apple tv has no buffering or delay everything works. I get off my wifi 8 ping and 100+ download so there is no loss of speed. I have also installed it at my factory and now everything runs faster and no delays the speed we got from the supplied router was about 7mps now with the Orbi we get 13 - 17mps and no delays. It was the best investment I have made for internet usage.

Great WiFi but stability can be an issue depending on firmware
I'm really happy with the WiFi signal of my Orbi system (base and satellite) in my 3 bedroom, 2 storey house. I don't think I've had any wireless dropouts but there have been a number of issues with the automatic firmware updates and the subsequent connectivity issues. It appears that Netgear are now allowing you to perform the updates when you want to rather than them being automatically pushed - this is a welcome change! There are a minimum of 11 devices connected (mostly wirelessly) and I never experience performance issues. My favourite feature is the single SSID. I'd definitely recommend this product to someone wanting whole home WiFi!
We had very bad WiFi coverage with the NBN Modem/Router supplied by Telstra, but with the ORBI problem solved! NBN modem is located in the garage so with the supplied modem WiFi signal in the living room was terrible but with the Orbi system, coverage is perfect all the way in the backward! (House area is 320m2)
Easy to setup, great design, and the Orbi App is a great tool, specially when you are able to manage the usage by individual devices, specially to control children's usage!!!

I’m very satisfied with my Orbi RBK-50. I’ve had it set up for about a month now, and have found good positions for the router and satellite. I get full bars all through the house, even on my original iPad mini.
One reviewer mentioned slowdown with Apple products, but I believe this issue was resolved in an early firmware update. Certainly, I have not experienced any issues, and our house is full of Apple products of varying ages- 2010 Mac Pro, 2012 MacBook Pro, iPhones 4 & 5, iPad mini’s.
I live in an awkward house for wifi: it’s ve...ry old and has a tin roof, tin carport, and strangely the middle two rooms have zincalume (“tin”) cladding that was left behind the gyprock. This makes it hard to get signal throughout the house, even though it’s only a single storey. I am also eagerly awaiting the NBN, as my current internet speed tops out at just over 2 mbps (sadly, not mBps!). My previous setup was pre-802.11ac: it was rated at n600, dual band with separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks (Netgear DGND3700v2). I also had a wifi extender (Netgear WN2000RPT) which created a third, 2.4 GHz only, network. I often had to select the network manually because as I walked around, my devices tried to hold on to their current network even as the signal was fading. My laptop was powerful enough to pick up full bars in most parts of the house (on the 2.4 GHz network), but it is exceptional in that MacBook Pro’s have very powerful wifi antennas compared to most devices. All my other devices had to make do with poor signal unless they were quite close to the router or extender. I used NetSpot, a free wifi survey app, to measure the signal strength throughout the house, with all doors closed except the open doorways through the middle room. The router and extender are as close to these open doorways as possible, about 5 meters apart. The survey showed poor signal away from the central corridor.
Our tenant complained that the internet in our lower level granny flat was dropping out frequently. After looking at a few options we settled on the Orbi.
While expensive, it immediately solved our problems and has been the best router I have ever used. Simple to set up (20 minutes) and has been flawless since (no rebooting required in months). Highly recommended.
