Nexgard Spectra
Large (15.1-30kg), Medium (7.6-15kg), Small (3.6-7.5kg), etc... (See All)This pill instantly gave my puppy severe diarrhea, vomiting, and he couldn’t eat or drink . He was rushed to the vet and I spent hundreds ! It was so very sad! Even after the medicine I didn’t think he would pull thru ! When I reached out to the company they had no regards for my puppy ! All I want is my money back for vet bills ! Shame !

got this Nexguard spectra from the vets, weight was done by the vets too to ensure proper dosage- after giving this chew to my dog it was about 2 to 4 hours after she started to not wanting to walk, dry vomiting, eyes rolling upward direction towards the top of the head, wobbly legs- was told beginning of seizures, neurological affects- I've tried this product 3 times and same result and the affects was worse each time, only reason i used this product 3 times due to the vets saying its safe and the affects are not the chews, well the vets can k...
Read moreeep their wrong advise, i stopped using this product as i knew it wasn't right, now my dog don't have these affects any more- now i stopped using this poison, I hope there's no long term affects later - this should be banned, i also rang the report line in Australia to report this and was told their product is safe and they have never heard of it giving these problems or the start of seizures, what a load of rubbish that is, just look on you tube videos of dogs having seizures from this product and constant reviews online. i am so sad at my self for listening to the vets and not going by my first instinct knowing it was the nexgard doing this to my dog and feel so angry that i was poisoning her all that time, never again i will use this rubbish again or listen to a vet when it comes to wormers, etc. its all about money, not for the safety of our loving voiceless animals. terrible..Purchased for $29.
My 2 two year old Jack Russells have been on Nextguard Spectra since I got them in 2019, I had an automatic delivery every 6 months. I had noticed skin irritation on both and more eating of grass than I was used to with my previous JR all of which I put down to sensitive dogs. Recently one of my girls vomited and showed signs of tick paralysis on a Saturday morning even though she was fine Friday night at 10.30. I found a paralysis tick on her neck which was not engorged and barely had any blood in it at all but it had done the damage. Thi...
Read mores product recommends regular checking for ticks but my dog gets massaged and rubbed all over at least once a day and also has very short coat. the Tick was on the side of her neck and very visible let alone feeling it although it was not large. Next guard responded that ticks don't poison until 72 hours after they attach. Garbage !!! This dog was in hospital over the weekend and I was lucky she was young and healthy and recovered after week or so. Now that I have read these reviews, I will not get any more of this product with the other side affects combined with NOT CONTROLLING TICKS as advertised. Beware, it takes way too long to kill ticks for it to be called Tick Protection !!!!Purchased in February 2021 for $95.

At the advice of our local pet supplies we were told to try Nexgard Spectra. Not only did Nexgard Spectra induce vomiting and diarrhoea but a visit to the vet too. We are back to using Advocate which actually works. In my opinion Nexgard Spectra should be removed from shelves

My dog had an allergic reaction to a sample of Nexguard spectra. She had no issues eating it, but later that day developed a strong itchy spot (no history of hot spots or fleas) on her back where she scratched until it was raw. Took a few days to settle down. My other dog had no issues.

Gave it to my dog the 1st time thought the diarrhea was the result of her just having an off day however after the 2nd does she had bloody/mucus diarrhea it has currently been 5 days and she is still having it even after vet treatment. Please do not give this to your dogs it's not worth the risk

Vet provided us three options not explaining the possible side effects. Thought the heart worm and tick combo would be best option. Our dog had diarrhea after two days which lasted for about a week overnight. Thought it was his food so changed it. Gave this medication on first of next month two days later same reaction. Our dog was salivating, hyper but the diarrhea at night time was out of control.

We gave NexGard Spectra to our 7 month old, 7 pound yorkie poo in May 2020 to prevent heart worm. It was the first time she had it, and she started having diarrhea. It progressively got worse and two days later she was having bloody diarrhea every 5-10 minutes. She was shaking uncontrollably and was very lethargic. We rushed her to the vet who said it was caused by the spectra. She gave our dog Anti-diarrhea medication and Anti-Nausea medication to give to her for a week. She continued to have bloody diarrhea until the following morning. It too...
Read morek her three weeks before she was back to her normal, healthy self. It was very scary and she has not been on heart worm medication since. We tried to prevent a health issue but the medication to prevent it created a health problem. Our other 13 year old, 7 pound Morkie had uncontrollable vomiting after taking NexGard Spectra. She also had a 30 second long seizure. We had to rush her to the vet where she was given Anti-Nausea medication. It took her two weeks before she was back to herself. We will not be giving this to our dogs again.Purchased in May 2020.

One of my dogs had severe seizures from this product and the other passed away. If you have given this to your pets in the past and they were fine, that does not indicate that this is a good product, you were just lucky. This is not a good product and the majority of reviews show this, even my vet agrees and does not know how this product is still for sale.

After less than two hours she started violently vomit up all her food, then kept vomiting up every time she tried to drink water. Lethargic, shaking, feeling very cold, she lay down next to her water bowl for the whole evening and night, didn't move for twelve hours. I wrapped her in a blanket, she never moved, couldn't go out for a wee. I thought she was gonna die as she looks a bit like a border collie and it is well known that collies die or have to be put down as they get permanent nervous system damage if they take Nexguard, but she's a re...
Read morescue mixed breed so the vet said it would be ok. I will never give her this again. I have reported the side-effects the correct way to the government's official animal drug side effect website. It is incredibly important that everyone reports it here, as otherwise there will not be any data on how dangerous it is and it will continue to be prescribed. Please report it on this link. I kept in touch with a vet on the phone throughout in case we would have to go into hospital. The next day she was lethargic, fragile and shaky, went for a short wee walk, had a little bit of rice and chicken.Purchased in December 2020 for $30.

Terrible product. My dog , a healthy 15 months old Labrador, had a bad reaction
He had extreme diarrhoea where we passed stool all night. In the morning he looked sick, was whimpering and wasn’t eating anything. This was not the first time it happened but definitely the worst reaction he’s had. We are not using this product anymore as it doesn’t seem like a safe option

Adverse reaction resulting in death. Google other people’s stories before you give this to your dog. Binning it is the best thing you could do. I gave this to my healthy pug & she was dead within 2 days. Your dog can have an adverse reaction & suffer an illness which could be fatal. My pug suffered severe vomiting & liver shut down & it could happen to your dog too. I now use another brand on my other pug & no problem at all. Nexgard could kill your pet. Google other stories like mine..

Questions & Answers
Hi all. We gave our 7 y/o male Bassadore Nexgard 1yr ago this month. Within one week we had huge piles of bloody stools with mucus, multiple times a day, loss of appetite, lethargy and vomitting. We gave him this 2 months in a row not realizing this was the issue, finally put two and two together. Ultimately, we stopped giving it him, thank goodness. Downfall, he was 51lbs when we gave it to him, he is now down to 39lbs and keeps losing. His appetite is insatiable. But 2 months ago we switched to canned sensitive stomach food. We alternate between home cooked, all natural and the canned. We have to do this because his stomach is unstable. He will vomit biale if he doesn't have several small meals a day. His stools are finally beautiful, fur-parents, I'm sure you can appreciate that term. 2 months ago the Dr did exploratory surgery. He had about a 3in section that was extremely irritated, to the point it was purple and had no blood flow. Since surgery, he is better. He had 2 enlarged lymph nodes, we had them tested, benign. His blood work is excellent and within normal range. Its almost like he is not absorbing the nutrients from his food. And we will give him canned tuna or chicken breast as a snack. Most days he is energetic, but when he has a bad day, it's a real bad day. Since surgery he hasnt drank much water, but is urinating for long periods of time, multiple times a day. We just started getting him to drink water again by adding sodium-free beef broth, absolute miracle, praise God. I had ordered a year supply for 4 furbabies. Needless to say we only used 2 months and donated the rest. This stuff is so toxic and I feel incredibly guilty and like I am fighting a losing battle. Suggestions as to what to look for or into? Our Dr and staff of 8 are completely stumped. Thank you in advance.
How much such I give my 8kg puppy ?
I wouldn't give a puppy nexgard, though its your choice, best to weight your dog at the vets, its free to weight them, then buy the correct amount of wormer to the weight of your puppy.

I purchased from my local vet but wasn’t given that option ! Regardless , the company literally said talk to my lawyers! How sad ! I wish someone would share our stories !
