Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G

Finally great price and great buy – I have been eyeing the Nikon 50mm F1.8G lens for more than a year. Always found it priced higher than what I was willing to pay. Finally, Harvey Norman had a promotion on the lens and I am now a proud owner of the Nikon 50mm F1.8G lens. Compared to the 50mm F1.4G lens, this lens is bargain for a prime lens. Why do I like the product? 1. Well packaged. Comes with a soft case and a lens hood. Very nice touch from Nikon.

2. Great promotion from Harvey Norman. They should have more of such deals. Thank you Harvey Norman.

3. I used the lens on a Nikon D800 and found the images were sharp. With a F1.8g you get a great depth of field.

4. The lens hood prevents light flare so a handy accessory to have.

5. Quick focusing but not as silent as I would have expected from a AF-S lens but given the price, a good compromise.

6. When you register the product online, you get 2 years warranty, not that you need it but gives you peace of mind.

Nikkor 50mm AF-5 f/1.8 Lens i the Nifty Fifty – I have heard it called the Nifty Fifty by the Camera sellers. A great Lens for portrait, flowers, Video. Sharp! I heard it is also comparable to the 1.2 Nikkor Lens for the quality of the photographs. Sharp, lightweight, small. Doesn't have vibration control but for the size and use I intend for this little fella, it is perfect. Great Lens for the price.
