Don’t Trust Nissan No Customer Service-auto issues
We purchased a new 2017 SL Navara and a xtrail at the same time. Spent 80k on cars. Nissan made us feel special with the purchases and even gave us gifts.
However after a month we notice the Navara was hard to get out of park randomly. When it released from park it sounded like the auto had just fallen out or you have hit something. A loud metal clunk.
We called Nissan and they booked it in to be checked. They advised us after having the car for the a day that nothing was wrong with it and we were not parking the car correctly. They also ad...vised us that they wouldn’t charge us for this. We thought oh ok maybe we are in the wrong so we became OCD with the order in which we parked the car. We also obtained a work car so it didn’t get driven as much. When we did drive it randomly it would still do it. We reported it again. They had the car and said it didn’t fault for them again.
Purchased at Nissan Petrie for $42,000.00.
Not as off road tough as they advertise
2018 St-x, vehicle was towing a 13ft hybrid camper van. Van weight was approximately 2t with the gear it had in it and the ball load was measured at 185kgs loaded.
The van was towed through a soft sand section of around 50 meters and then another 5kms of hard packed sand. After pulling up to enter a campsite, it was noticed that the chassis had bent.
When returned to the Nissan dealer and inspected, their decision was that they would not cover it under warranty due to it being off road.
I’m sure everyone has seen the tv ads with Ute being loaded with slabs of concrete, off road tracks etc. just beware, you may not be covered
Warning warning warning, navara has vibration issue. Nissan Australia and dealers fully aware of the problems but choose to ignore it. Do not buy 1. I would take a Great Wall over it, at least then you would be dealing with a company that cares!
Purchased in February 2019.
Rubbish.. buy a ldv
This car should not be allowed on our roads. It is unsafe on any road. It should be rated as 100kg payload. Which would be just the driver.
Reliabity is a separate issue. 3rd set of injectors, 3rd drivers seat, half a dash .. it really is a disgrace.
Purchased in July 2017 at Nissan Dealers for $50,000.00.
Worst car ever!
Rubbish car rubbish service no warranty back up Blackburn Nissan only want your money then shaft you and make excuses ignore calls. !! Avoid like plague as an ex mechanic the reliability of the vehicle is very poor not to mention cheap thin paint that chips at the gust of wind let alone stones.
2018 RX First impressions not good
Took delivery of a new 2018 Navara dual cab RX after driving an Amarok for the last 5 years.
Literally jumped out of the Amarok and into the Navara and first impressions are not good.
The 5 year old base model Amarok with 180k is twice the car the new Navara is in every department.
The old Amarok had better steering, acceleration, suspension, seats, controls, road noise, engine noise.
The new Navara has boat like steering (not joking) its bad. Big diesel tank like engine noise (have to turn the radio up)
Lots of corner lean (takes away ste...
Paint work issue
Recently purchased navara from a local Honda dealership in the first hour found that we had an issue with the paint work so reported the morning after which they said they would book it in and take it. It was checked over by one of their master technicians who said its not covered under warranty couldn't believe this, so I put in a complaint to Nissan who told me I would hear something with in 2 working day, took them 4 days only after I was in contact with them again but all I got was asked stupid questions on where I kept the vehicle and how...I washed it as I told her I've not had it long enough to clean but then started to tell me that I'd not bought it from a Nissan dealership as I told her it came from vertu Honda but supplied by one of their Nissan dealerships but all she could keep saying you didn't buy it from Nissan so it looks like if you don't buy a Nissan from a Nissan dealership they have the right to refuse warranty looks like their warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on and this vehicle is only 4 month old.

VIBRATION ISSUE - 2017 NAVARA ST-X
Purchased new in Jan 2018, vibration from the very first day, thinking it was tyre pressure or being new it will disappear as it wears in. Appears at low speeds & constant through to higher speeds, first reported at 2,300k now 8,500, had it to them 3 occasions they balanced it, changed drive shaft, swapped rims & tyres from another Navara but problem persists. It’s with them now for approx 3 weeks & not resolved as yet SO FRUSTRATING. Can feel vibration in seats & body ITS TERRIBLE hate driving it. Apparently it’s a production issue which Nissan will never admit to & WHY WOULD THEY. I have read many post / forums & it is a common issue - recommend if your considering purchase then think again, do not DONT BUY.

Worst car in thirty years
ST-X purchased June 2016. Trouble started day one with the tonneau cover being incorrectly fitted by Nissan and coming lose on a long trip. Nissan tried to blame me and said it must be an aftermarket fit although the tonneau cover was part of the original new car buy. This was followed with tailgate latch jamming repeatedly and being told it was a known problem which had not been fixed. On two occasions we had smoke from under the bonnet due to oil dripping on the hot engine, Nissan replaced the pipe from the turbo charge to the engine. Nissan ...are aware of this issue and is a problem with the series. After the first months we experienced a flat spot during acceleration which we were told was because we didn't know how to drive an automatic although I have been driving since 1971. On two occasions Nissan reset the computer to overcome the "flat spot". On the way to Stanthorpe we experienced strong front end vibration and had the wheels checked and balanced in Stanthorpe with no change in front end vibration. On the same trip the ABS brake system failed and had to be repaired by RACQ in Stanthorpe. The final straw came when driving from Canberra to Cooma and we started to get the smell of fuel in the car. A week later, in June 2018, we got rid of the car with 59,000km on the clock and warranty remaining. Sadly when you contact the Nissan Help Desk in Melbourne the first comment made by the person answering was "it's not our fault and we accept no responsibility". Without a doubt the most un-helpful "Help Desk" I've ever spoken to.
What a bucket of crap
Buyer beware of car and company. I recently bought an upgraded Nissan Navara from a dealership (dealership upgrades) and the thing is a danger on the road. Vibrates, loud and just unpleasant. Nissan Australia want nothing to do with it, Dealership wants nothing to do with it - there blaming each other and you won’t get anywhere. If you want to buy a 50+ vibrator - go for it.
Don't Be Fooled by the Marketing
The NISSAN ST-X NP300 (YS23DDTT) has been singularly the worst experience in a new motor vehicle I have ever had. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to have have had some 12 new vehicles ranging from Landcruiser's, Hilux's, Commodores and now my second Nissan.
All have been fit for purpose with the exception of the latest purchase of the NISSAN ST-X NP300.
The Good: I find it comfortable to drive and easy wash and clean.
The Bad: From new the vehicle exhibited a vibration through the steering wheel at 80-100klm. Returned to dealersh...

Absolute crap and a death trap
On the 4th January I purchased a brand new vehicle from MacArthur Nissan. I was advised from the sales manager I could option up my vehicle as I was after a particular model (black edition) and they could do it better. The company sells 5 to 10 of these month as per conversation. From day one the car has had a vibration in the rear when travelling over 100km. From 4th January to today I have only had the vehicle for 2 weeks in my possession and paying full finance. They have put several different tires, wheels and tried to repair it but it stil...l has a vibration. I have had the sales manager & also master technician out with me in the care and they both confirmed the vibration. With the the last test drive the master technician also confirmed that is a fault in that particular model across the board. It can be quiet dangerous as the back tray vibrates continuously. Spoke with [name removed] at Nissan Australia and pretty much told bad luck - it’s standard
Never buy another Nissan period. Oil leak after 1000 km service ...Ticking sound when accelerating
Owe Nissan D40 before beautiful car doing 230000 km not a lot of problems.
Decide to upgrade to Np 300, beautiful interior but the drive is terrible.. Ticking sound when accelerating in gear 1 and 2 with loss of power. Oil started leaking after 1000km services. Took it back but oil leak again after 2 days then they change a holes and that fix the problems. Mention to them about the Ticking sound and a drumming noise from the back, was told no fault and normal Diesel engine sound. Very disappointed with Nissan.
Will never buy another Nissan period.
I’d rather ride my push bike for reliability.
Driving experience dramatically improved with an aftermarket suspension kit from TJM,
Reliability is an absolute joke, 55,000 on the clock and I’ve had 4 boost solenoids fail,
3 intercooler hoses leak oil and one of which blew off and couldn’t be reattached sending the car into limp mode.
4 CV boots come loose spraying grease everywhere, finally on the 4th go they replaced the whole CV shaft and haven’t had an issue with that part since,
2 rear main seals fail,
2 timing case seals fail,
Drivers seat foam fail,
Rust above the windscreen and behind the rear window seam from delivery.
Paint is thinner than toilet paper.
Output shaft seal fail, ...
New Car Rust - Denial
This is what you get when you buy a new Nissan Navara RX (4x2) SC - Rust in an area where no one looks.
A week after I bought the Navara on 12/01/18 I saw some adverse reports on rust issues with Nissan and decided to take a closer look only to find rust inside both front wheel arches. I booked it in for a check at Aspley Nissan and was told that all new cars have rust. I immediately notified Nissan Gladstone where I bought it from and asked for a new vehicle without the rust or a refund. I then sent Nissan Aust. the photos and was asked if...
Hideous ticking noise on acceleration and deceleration...
Hideous ticking noise on acceleration and deceleration, can't believe Nissan make such crap in this day and age with such advanced technology available... Oh and if you think you can ask service about it, forget it as their standard line is its "normal" for the engine to make that noise!!! And its normal diesel engine sound!!! Rubbish, I've owned diesels all my life and they don't sound like an old cattle truck the day you drive it off the lot....
June 3rd 2018 Update: Injector rattle
Insane injector rattle... Worst car ever...... The inj...ector rattle will drive you crazy!!!!! It's embarrassing when you have passengers..... Can't wait to sell it and tell everyone I know how bad it is.. oh and don't think service will fix it, standard reply is "it's normal" .. shame on you Nissan.... DO NOT buy a Navara........

Brakes and discs replacement after 14000k.. no low brake warning lights!!
My Navara is 14 months old and i purchased it new from Aldershot Nissan. Recently i started picking up on a slight noise coming from the nearside wheel. I thought it might of been a bit a grit in the bearing but the noise came back. I obviously thought it could not be the brakes (no grinding at all, no warning lights). How wrong was i... After the inspection the mechanics at Nissan advised he was not happy to road test as the brakes had worn 90% on one side and 60% on the other, and now the discs were now shot!! I couldn't believe it!! but the...y said it is down to general wear & tear. I obviously disagreed and asked them to check the calipers etc... apparently the tests they done were all good. I have now been left extremely disappointed as they have charged me £299 for the new front pads and discs!! It is 2017 and this vehicle has all the warning lights cameras you could wish for BUT no basic warning lights for the brakes...SHOCKING!! and then having to have the discs replaced as well... RIP OFF!! Basically Nissan Westway are saying every 14000 miles i will need new pads and discs!! Has any one else experienced this problem? as i intend to take this further.
Genuine nissan canopy.
Do NOT let nissan sell you their genuine trade canopy, made by EGR in qld. Nissan REFUSE to get the roof racks & support rails & slide windows into stock, they have been produced by EGR but they can not sell them as under licence from nissan, and nissan refuse point blank to order/supply or sell them! Making the canopies for most people USELESS without a hd rack.
Nissan also refuse to explain their stupid decision..buy an ARB or equivalent who do sell back up parts/racks.
Very disappointed with ute - Buyer Beware
Purchasing a ute with expected 30,000km per year in mind, fuel economy, service intervals and tank capacity were paramount in the selection criteria. So not only was the initial purchase cost important but the ongoing running cost.
The Navara RX Single Cab Chassis ticked all the boxes on paper, but on the road it fulls well short and very much a disappointment.
The claimed 6.4l per 100km is not possible, I am currently seeing (at best) 7.2l per 100km. To qualify: I drive 130 each day between home and work 110km on motorwa...y will little or no traffic, the other 20km are on surface street but again outside peak congestion, so there is no excuse for stop-start traffic/driving affecting the fuel economy. Because I log-book the ute, the economy is based on actual km driven against actual fuel bought, not based on read-out in ute. The Nissan Navara has a claimed fuel tank of 80 litres, unfortunately the tank records empty at about 65 litres. The tank capacity is actually 80 litres however the sensor is poorly designed and gives a wrong warning, what this means is that you must drive for about 20-25% of the tank capacity "on empty" with no idea of when you will actually run out, or likewise you need to fuel more often. The intention to buy this ute was that based on tank size and economy it would be possible for me to only need to fill-up every 2 weeks. As it stands and for safety i am filling up more often that I desire. Since buying the car I have found numerous feeds about this matter that is known but Nissan appear to place no importance to rectify.
Questions & Answers
Hi. I have a new 2020 Navara ST D23 series 4. There is no battery sense module on the negative terminal and I am wondering if the vehicle has a smart or variable voltage alternator. I am fitting a dc2dc charger to a hybrid camper I’ll be towing and it will make a difference when installing an Anderson plug
