Piece of crap, just sold it after 14 months.
R52 Ti 4WD Hybrid (2013-2023)Bad experience from start to finish. Customer service is shocking. Issues: broken boot floor handle, faulty power tailgate, shuddering transmission, key sensor issues, clear coat bubbling on bumper, bluetooth is crap, plastics inside falling off, no rain sensing wipers on $60k car, front sensors were optional! Steer clear of Nissan, their claims to offer 'more' are rubbish. Will never, ever touch another Nissan.

You cant buy All Terrain 4WD tyres in Australia
R52 ST 4WD (2013-2023)I have the ST 4WD model. Australia doesn't sell all terrain tyres in the size specified.
Nissan Australia doesn't care and this car defeats the purpose of being a 4WD. You cannot put another tyre size on it because nissan wont warrant it and insurance wont claim it.
how disappointing.....
if you want it for the city; its a great car. but not for dirt roads......

Will not tow 2200kg caravan
Pathfinder R52 ST-L (2013-2023)June 2015 told it would tow 2700kg ok good until you put weight on the tow ball max on ball 200kg will sit the car down 60mm at back wheels . Nissan in fine print do not recommend using weight distribution system as it will crack the body and they will not cover cost, have fitted air bags to fix problem. Will not tow my 2200kg caravan up my driveway told if the gearbox over heats and blows up they will not cover any cost to fix . Not happy Nissan this car is not fit for purpose. Other problems with elections if you are too quick getting in and trying to start it will tell you incorrect key . :-((

Not sure what SUV to purchase...
Pathfinder R52 Ti (2013-2023)We are wanting to purchase a SUV for the family and we are tossing and turning between the Pathfinder HI R52 or the Kluger Grande!
The space inside the Nissan is very spacious however I've gathered from the reviews the engine plays up after a while. However the Kluger lacks space from the inside yet I've delt with the service Toyota offers for the past 4 years and they seem to be genuine with the service.
I'd like some advice as to what I should be going for or if there are any 7 seatet SUV out thete that you may recommend.

Good car but need alot of improvement
Pathfinder R52 Ti (2013-2023)It is a good car with value for what it has to offer. We bought the TI top of the range with the lot.
I find the 360 degrees camera really handy as I'm used to driving smaller cars. It helps parking in shopping centers so much easier.
The car is so big I can't even reach my handbag on the floor of the passenger's side. Forget about reaching my child in her car seat. That said, those who want a car that is big enough to put 3 car seats across the 2nd row, I suggest to buy slimline/compact seats as guarantee you won't fit all 3 normal width

My Joolz Geo just fits in. A car in this class should really have adaptive speed control. I really wish Nissan included this feature.- Badge: Ti

Pathfinder R52 ST-L (2013-2023)I bought to car for its seven seats and as a 2.7 ton towing capacity, seven seat are great had had no trouble with the trans yet, I had car new for a bit over a year,.
I have a caravan rated tow ball weight of 1.4 ton... so you think easy right... well no the suspension in the back could not handle the weight so I had to add air bags at my cost Nissan would not even consider a compromise on this regardless of me saying I mention this when I was buying the car I would be towing with it... so customer service at the head office in Dandenong was

Hybrid Pathfinder - sting in the tail
R52 ST-L 4WD Hybrid (2013-2023)Recently bought a new Pathfinder ST-L Hybrid. Runs like a dream and pretty good fuel consumption for a vehicle of its class. When we initially bought it, we were told servicing every 10,000 km. However Nissan have recently changed this to 7,000km for no apparent reason. Call me sceptical but it would just appear to be another way of fleecing the consumer, by making pay more for servicing.

2015 Brand New R52 N - Trek 4WD Nissan Pathfinder ( Sold by Nissan Springwood)
Pathfinder R52 ST-L N-Trek (2015)We were sold a brand New 4WD Pathfinder that does 4.8Kmh per litre of fuel and has a Major mechanical fault with the transmission. We learnt within a week of purchase that this is a "known major mechanical fault" and number of vehicles have had their transmissions removed within 10,000kmh, this after the sale yet never declared to the prospective buyers at the dealership. Pathfinder R52 ST (2013-2023)Pathfinder is really good family car when you have 2 babies and other family members. Quality is good enough for the price. Gear box issue looks like already fixed in 2015 built model. Feel really happy with it. Fuel consumption not huge, around 13/100km, it is fair enough. I brought the basic model ST.

Super spacious and comfortable.
Pathfinder R52 ST-L (2013-2023)We upgraded from a mod sized sedan, looking for a large family car with lots of space and comfort. And we got it with the pathfinder. The kids have so much room in the second row that our 4 year old can stand up to put here winter coat on. The book is huge with the 3rd row folded down and almost as big as our former sedan with the 3rd row in use.
We bought the ST-L model which has leather and heated seats, the latter a comfort I can't live without now.
Handling wise it's a dream on long open road a. Super comfortable and quiet,

Other gripes are that the interface on the sat nav is nowhere near as refined as Google. And fuel economy, well, it's not economical, but what do you expect from a very big heavy car? Overall the wife and I absolutely love our new pathfinder!- Badge: ST-L

Great family vehicle
R52 ST 2WD (2013-2023)Just purchased TL 2wd Pathfinder, Beautiful car to drive. Plenty of room with the 7bseats in use and huge boot area with the extra seats down. Got fuel economy down to 8.2L around town use, this was better than our previous much smaller vehicle. Had a few extras fitted which make it look spot on, being fog lights and the back chrome boot protection strip, front mud flaps, door scuff protection strips. 2014 nissan pathfinder hybrid 4WD ST+L
R52 ST-L 4WD Hybrid (2013-2023)Ive had the car for a month purchased it brand new. fully aware that there could be possible transmission problems but so far it is fantastic. I'm in my early 20s no kids. But there is plenty of room to give drunken friends ride home every one seems to fit in! Sound system is amazing love it! Fuel performance im getting 700km! and that's all sorts of driving eg. city and freeway. The towing side of things is amazing!! The vehicle still has soo much power! and the brakes are fantastic just what you want for towing! Honestly couldn't feel I was towing!!
I definitely believe this car is the best in its class! for big suv its soo easy to park! no regrets on getting the hybrid!

Better experience than VW
Pathfinder R52 Ti (2013-2023)Clocked up 22k in 16 months without any issues. Huge book and cabin space, always a struggle to fill the car which is a good proble and comfortable with TV's for the kids on those longer trips. Petrol returning 14L for mostly city driving with 10L on Freeway. Aircon is great as is heated and ventilated seats.

So far so good - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
R52 ST-L 4WD (2013-2023)We have the 2014 Pathfinder STL 4WD (7 seater), it's done close to 10,000km thus far and have not had any issues. Great sized vehicle for the family (we have 3 kids) and plenty of room in the boot. I've read about the issues, but thus far no problems. Will update if we have any dramas, but again, so far so good (touch wood).
Petrol consumption is actually better than our 2010 Murano we used to own and we do a lot of driving around town.
UPDATE 28/1/2016 - I thought I'd submit an update as to how the car is performing.
One thing we
... Read more've found out, this is certainly not a beach 4WD, Rough hard terrain, no dramas, soft sand, absolutely not. We got stuck on a beach in the middle of South Australia. With the Pathfinders safety features (traction/stability control, hill start assist etc) the wheels would just simply not turn at all in the softer sand. Once we came to a halt, that was it, it did not want to move. It just made these juddering movements forward and back digging us in. It took about 10 minutes of slightly moving forward and backwards (backwards you're not supposed to use in 4WD I later found out) to get the thing out. It was actually very sketchy, as the tide was coming in and the kids in the back were crying thinking we were going to drown - little did they know they could have walked up and down the beach 10 times and the water would still not be at the back wheel. Apart from the above bit of advice, the car is still running well. My wife mentioned she feels an occasional shudder when slowing up hills - I must admit I've never experienced this though. Still very happy with the purchase and would recommend. Just don't go thinking you can cruise along the beach, hard sand yes....softer stuff no!- Badge: ST-L

Love it so far.
R52 ST 2WD (2013-2023)I have only owned this vehicle for 1 week, so this review is more about first impressions.
This is for a 2013 Pathfinder R52 ST 2WD.
The good: Comfortable seats and great driving position. It's very quiet on the road. The stereo sounds good, and the A/C is effective. There is plenty of power and so far no sign of the CVT shudder that one or two others have reported. The CVT itself is brilliant. Under most conditions you don't even notice that it's a CVT. The instruments are clear, easy to read and attractive.
The average: Headlights a
... Read morere just OK. It can occasionally feel a bit doughy off the line, making it it a little bit of a challenge sometimes in traffic. The owner's manual is somewhat confused and some features are not well explained. The ride, while generally comfortable, can be slightly jiggly over patched bitumen, level crossings and the like. The poor: Climate control controls are confusing and not intuitive. The bluetooth phone system doesn't have voice control (in the ST trim) and it's pretty clunky and slow to use. To make a call you have to scroll through phonebook entries one at a time until you find the number you want, which can be a very slow process. Answering a call is quick and easy though, but the sound quality at the caller's end is quite poor.- Badge: ST
Horrible SUV so far - Lemon - Dud - Rubbish -
R52 ST 2WD (2013-2023)See update towards the bottom of this review to see why I have reduced this to 1 stars (you can't give 0). Steer very clear of this dud car.
This review is based on a 2014 Pathfinder ST 2WD. I just upgraded from a 2012 Dualis +2 to this and the difference is staggering. Both my Dualis and this were the base model ST versions but, unlike the Dualis, this SUV never makes me feel like I skimped out. I have so far only traveled 500 odd Km and will update this review if/when there is anything to add.
I purchased this vehicle from Sutherland Nissan who were brilliant. Can't say good enough things about them
Firstly, the good.
To put it simply, pretty much everything.

This review is for the R52 pathfinder, not the R51 pathfinder. I have already reported the review to the Product Review staff.
I cant edit the above post for some reason. My car has just recieved it's second gearbox at Nissans expense. I will update this thread if/when it fails again.

Pathfinder R52 Ti (2013-2023)Bought a brand new R52 TI model in June this year 2014 & Just had my transmission replaced at 5500km and now the shuddering has started again after only doing 1000kms!!! !!!! We've been sold a dud. I have read the reviews in the US and sounds like same problem!
