Solid reliable family car
We purchased the Pathfinder N Trek ST-L new in 2015 and have travelled around 130,000ks with no mechanical issues so far. I used the car as my business vehicle for 3.5 years with a mix of city and country driving. It has a solid feel to it on both sealed and unsealed surfaces. I think that the set up of the dash controls and the camera assistance for parking and reversing are excellent. I took on the extended warrantee (5 years) which expires in Oct 20 but apart from replacing 2 electric radiator cooling fans (noisy bearings) there has been no ...warrantee claims. It towed our caravan (17ft 1600kg) and my opinion is that the CVT is not as pleasant to tow with, as a standard transmission, it has not given any issues. The 3.5 litre V6 is a lovely smooth powerful engine and matched to the all wheel drive is a great combination. Fuel in city is around 13l/100k and 9-10l/100k open road. Build quality has been fine with no rattles or noises and service costs at Nissan are not exorbitant (not cheap either). The car is on the large side and can be challenging to park in some shopping centre parks but the display which uses the cameras to show the car from above really helps to make sure you are within your space and to avoid obstacles. All the extra features such as blind spot monitor, cross vehicle alert when reversing and the general solid feel of the vehicle make it a very pleasant car to drive.
Purchased in October 2015.
2015 Brand New R52 N - Trek 4WD Nissan Pathfinder ( Sold by Nissan Springwood)
We were sold a brand New 4WD Pathfinder that does 4.8Kmh per litre of fuel and has a Major mechanical fault with the transmission. We learnt within a week of purchase that this is a "known major mechanical fault" and number of vehicles have had their transmissions removed within 10,000kmh, this after the sale yet never declared to the prospective buyers at the dealership. We have also been offer very little empathy and have experienced extremely poor customer service, and in addition have been demoralised even further by being given a 3 cyl Nis...san Micra as a loan car. We are now left with having to sell or trade our Brand New vehicle at a loss given this major mechanical fault has depreciated the value of the vehicle. I would suggest anyone looking for a reliable 4WD that represents great value and is equally backed by an AAA+ Customer service and support go to Toyota or Ford. I have own new vehicles from both and the service and quality of their vehicles is the best money can buy .
