We are just in love with this model of car. It is a family car and we use it to travel as a family to places such as shopping, holidays etc. Very comfortable with leather seats. We use it pretty much on a weekly basis. Serviced every 6 months and there are no issues with the car!
Couldn’t recommend it more highly
I do a lot of country, cravel road driving. The X-Trail holds firm to any terrain I have driven on, including the beach. It isn’t big and bulky but definately has ample space for my equipment, and I like how I sit high enough in the seat to have excellent viewing. I like the interior, it isn’t iver crowded.
Great fuel efficency and servicing is resonable. I will definately buy another one.
Performance & Handling is great. Feel so safe driving it. Has everything the Luxury has. Heated leather seats, so big and comfy. A great little part on the front dash, where you can put your phone & charge it while you drive. It an extra one. huge area for legs in back. Overall a really good car.
Great car - you'll not be disappointed!
I rather reluctantly bought my ST-S model back in 2014 with 140k on the clock. Just divorced, money was tight and I wanted a half decent SUV to replace the new Kluger I suddenly couldn't really afford anymore. Well, let me say that it was one of the best decisions (second to divorce!!) I've ever made. My beloved Exxy has not missed a beat in 100k and I could not be more pleased with its reliability, handling and economy. I was originally reluctant to purchase a car with (what I considered) high mileage, but she is still as tight as a drum ...at 224k and going strong!! Love driving it, no noises, plenty of room, surprisingly capable off-road as we do a bit of 4x4 driving. Offset dash takes a bit to get used to, and I replaced CD with a double din head unit for Bluetooth etc - fabulous. She will be very, very hard to replace when that sad day comes....
Strong small SUV
Even though the x Trail is a small vehicle it is as strong as any of the other bigger 4wd motor vehicle the fuel consumption is around the 10 lt,s to
The 100 Klm,s mine is the TI model with sun roof & leather trim making it a very comfortable drive being automatic it,s towing capacity is 1.1/2 ton the manual is 2 ton and now that I run a different tyre to Bridgestone it is much quieter on the road
Purchased in June 2009 at Private for A$10,000.00.
I recently bought a 2006 Nissan Xtrail which was second hand. This car is excellent. Is runs so smoothly, has a sun roof which is the perfect size and a lot of room in the back. The services are no expensive nor is getting parts fixed. Excellent car especially for her age
13 years later car still drives like new
Wife and I bought this car back in 2004 when I needed it for work using a car allowance. After about a year my job was made redundant and from that time onwards my wife drove it. Then this year I have strted another job with car allowance so we bought a new car, my wife drives that and after 13 years I am back behind the wheel of the X-trail.
It's done 161k and drives like a dream. Really love this car and don't for a moment regret buying it all those years ago. Will keep this until the wheels come off. Seems economical but don't know know ...what fuel economy it gets as it does not tell you like modern cars do. Inside interior is practical and good quality materials used. our 3 kids have been through this car and it has held up well. We put seat covers on the seats when new and I only recently took them off as I am driving it now and the cloth seats present like new. The cargo interior is prone to scratching of the plastic though so be mindful of that if you are carrying loads in the back. Mechanically no trouble over the years, a small issue about six months ago with a faulty sensor in the engine but was easily fixed and was inexpensive to fix. I paid $1600 last week for new brake discs on the rear, 160k service and 4 new tyres and a wheel alignment and balancing and now it drives really well. The Nissan mechanic at the dealership said this series of X-trail lasts a long time and is a very well build vehicle compared to new models on the road today. Great car, really love it.
Great safe famly transport, Long life, cheap to maintain.
Having arranged 8 of these robust well made SUV for family and friends, the slightly higher driving position helps city & country traffic and off road situations easy to deal with and the comfort levels makes any trip pleasant. Good service & parts backup by Dealer and normal service places Australia wide, low running costs has kept most of these units still in service with the owners and no complaints to me.
Best practical and reliable car I have had
This car will not die. All I have done for servicing is regular oil changes every 5,000kms with air/oil filter changes as per servicing schedule. 338,000kms later I am still running on the original CV joints and drive belts. The auto transmission is still fine with just some chatter from the timing chain and the suspension now a little sloppy.
I use the vehicle every day and also to tow and transport heavy items in the spacious rear of the wagon. The 4wheel drive has not missed a beat and has pulled me out of some tricky mudholes when I have t...
Purchased in November 2005.
The reasearch was worth all the hard work
I bought a caravan and needed a vehicle to tow it. When buying a car, I like to get it right because I keep them a long time as I prefer not to chop and change all the time. I have had my present car for 14 years. I chased up various SUVs on the internet and read the qualities they had and what the reviewers said about them. I visited an SUV specialist to get his input into my purchase. In all this took me about three months.
At the end of the day, one vehicle kept coming up...the X Trail. I told the SUV specialist what I was planning to do ...and he said "X Trail." The caravan I bought has a weight of just over 1-tonne and the XTrail can tow 2 tonne. Most mid size SUVs can only tow one and a half tonnes. I set myself a budget of $10,000 and started looking on the internet for one. They varied considerably in price and like so many SUVs out there they were high mileage. Anything under 150,000ks was a rarity at that price. I narrowed it down to three, all with under 150,000ks. Only one was under $10,000 and it was a 2007 top of the range model with 132,000 on the clock with one owner from new. I took it for a test drive and knew I had found the right one, especially as I saw another one exactly the same a few weeks later which was another $3,000.
Love this baby badly!
Bought it couple weeks ago and i think i just pick up a treasure. Driven couple weeks now, fuel consumption is low if compared to the rival. I used to drive pajero and isuzu, compared to this one it's totally a bargain. 177000km on the clock, engine sound still quiet. no doubt that the owner take a good care on this car. Hardly imagine it's a 10 yo car. Went to the mechanic and check all the stuff and make sure nothing dodgy. this car would surely run another 10 years no problem.
Funky & Versatile AWD. Fantastic.
We brought our used X-Trail Ti 5 years ago with around 80,000km. Its now done 140,000km and hasn't missed a beat. Its been a fantastic family car which is easy to live with. Nibble around the city & good on the highway. Its a fun car to drive with great all round vision especially for shorter people such as my wife. Road noise is not the best but for the type of car it is, acceptable.
The quirky speedo in the center takes time to get accustomed to but the bonus is you get an extra glove-box or storage compartment for the driver & I think its ...
very stable and solid car
Mine is TI T30 2003 2.5lit. Had my xtrail from a second hand car dearler. 107000km on the clock and one former owner. it's very solid and never give me any trouble on road. Just changed the engine radiator, cose it's leaking at the bottom. it's very simple and easy to fix, all i did was just pull and plug.
it is an awesome car! you should but it as soon as possible. you have to see the inside of the car. WOW ! just WOW ! I was in Brisbane last summer , that is where I drive this car . It is old but it is gold !
Best Car I Ever Owned
My 2003 Ti Luxury X-Trail has been the best car i have ever owned and driven. I usually buy another car every 1.5-2 years however I held onto my X-Trail for over 3 years and only sold it as it had nearly reached 200,000kms. If the kms where lower I'd still be driving it. Not only did I enjoy driving this car it has been the most reliable and practical car and is also the perfect size and not to big for city car parking. The car also offers plenty of room to seat 4-5 adults rather comfortably. My only 2 issues with this car was that the cam and ...crank angle sensors needed to be replaced as it failed at 190,000 kms this was only a $220 problem to fix at my local auto electrician. The other problem was the front passenger electric window switch stopped working so we just purchased a second hand switch from the wreckers for $30 and fitted it ourselves. The other great thing about these X-Trails is that they are everywhere and are easy to find replacement parts. I kept mine serviced ever 10,000 kms and never had any other issues. I am actually looking at selling the car I just replaced it with to buy an X-Trail again. All the room for a medium sized car, reliability, the massive sunroof, the way the back seats fold down flat and the location of the cruise control on the steering wheel so you don't have to take your hands off it. The interior does look very dated when you compare it to other cars that age, it would have been better with air vents in the back.
Great reliable car
I have a 2007 ti model and I would recommend this to anyone with a family. It has loads of room and is fairly economical on petrol due to the smaller engine size. It faults are in its power and lack of extras. But I have a manual which seems to negate the power issue and the cars features have since been upgraded in later models.
size, price and economy
Power is a bit short. CD play won't play mp3
The best car I ever owned
I bought my x trail brand new and had to sell it 200,000. Totally reliable, consistanly getting 8.5L/100km. awesome on fuel for a SUV that size. Handles great, sounds and goes great with a sports exhaust system. Very comfortable. Heaps of room. I would buy another one today if I could.
Performance, handling, reliability, fuel economy, Comfort, Standard features on the Ti, towing ability.
We have an '03 model, and have never had any mechanical problems with it whatsoever. We recommend x-trails without fault, and will be looking at upgrading to a newer model when this one gets a little older.
We absolutely love our x-trail, it has loads of space for our prams/pets etc, and the removeable tough-deck panels in the boot are so easy to hose off to clean. It handles like a small car, is really easy to park, and uses less fuel than we anticipated, and when we've used it in 4wd off road, it's been really easy to handle (even for a lady ...
Would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a great car reliable, fuel efficient and comfortable. In fact I have wrapped it up so much that my daughter and son-in-law have brought one also(2004 model) they love it too. Highly recommend this car, in the future will be looking at updating to a newer version.
Love the nissan x trail (model 2002) brought one this year out of necessatity (old car died) I do family daycare and needed a larger car. Could not have picked a better vechile. Love the fact that I feel safe driving it. Can see things f...
This car is an excellent all rounder, I love it
This car does everything I need. OK, its a bit old man for my age group, but I don't care. It is great for launching my boat off the beach, great for off roading as well. The X-Trail goes way further than you would ever expect. The clutch seems a little weak, but the engine and gearbox have been fault free thus far. ( currently on 170,000km) It is very comfortable on the road, and when off road, doesn't appear too soft at all, I have never bottomed out the suspension. Fuel economy is fine for an SUV, lots of space for rear passengers, specially when you recline the rear sits slightly.
Comfort, off road ability, reliability, versatile
