Disgusting, irresponsible mismanagement of a property/tenancy resulting in property damage
HOMEOWNERS - BEWARE this agency! TENANTS - Beware this agency! If you are a landowner considering renting your property via Noel Jones management, please read below before making any decisions!
Myself and my housemates have experienced an entirely unprecedented situation whilst living in a property managed by Noel Jones Camberwell. It has taken this agency an entire year to complete urgent repairs to the shower, resulting in permanent damage to the property. The situation was initially reported on August 10th 2018, during an inspection, and h...as only this week been completed on August 8th, 2019. The property is located in Hawthorn, Melbourne VIC 3122. For months, we have tried, tried, and tried again to get action taken on this situation. Because of a botched management changeover between two Noel Jones employees, the duty of care expected of a property management service has been entirely overlooked, disregarded, or forgotten about. Not only have we lived with a shower in the state visible below for one year, but the changeover of tenancies between renting parties was also a complete disaster. The new agent managing this situation has shown complete disregard for both us as tenants, and essentially disregarded the permanent damage that the property has received during this negligence. Due to a misunderstanding on the incoming property manager's behalf, we were asked to pay exorbitant tenancy transfer fees - $198 per person. $792 all up between 4 tenants coming onto a new lease. We knew this was inappropriate, but regardless of how we expressed ourselves, we were ignored. Due to this, and our refusal to pay fees we knew were inappropriate, there was essentially a stalemate reached wherein the incoming manager refused to action the urgent repairs required, and was essentially holding us to ransom over the transfer fees. Upon reporting this situation to the manager’s superiors, of course, we were in the right - only one transfer fee should have been charged. The majority of fees have now been dropped, however, even given the implications of this entire saga, they are still bizarrely sticking to their guns and expecting fees to be paid.

After much soul-searching we decided to downsize to a smaller, newer property. We found a home that was a little outside our search area and commenced our dealings with Noel Jones Mitcham. At all times, we found the staff and specifically Janet and her team, to be informative, helpful, a good listener, friendly and always professional. We purchased through them and then put our house sale in their hands at a time when the market started to become more unstable. We didn't want to auction and decided on a private sale. After expiration o...f the 'by due sale date" planned and no result, Janet said, well, "we're going to work harder" in order to achieve a fair and reasonable sale. We sold three weeks later and achieved a price within our initial range (something we didn't expect given the bad press the market is getting). We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Janet Fleet and her team at Noel Jones Mitcham if you are considering buying or selling in the eastern suburbs.

Having had a few bad customer service experiences over the last couple of months with real estate agents it was refreshing change to deal with someone who got the job done in a professional and very timely manner !!
Nadya (the agent) held the viewing and had us signing the rental contracts within 24hrs. The property chose us and she saw that and acted accordingly. Sometimes we forget that agents are not just doing a job but also giving people opportunity to create a new lifestyle and home life. This is a new start for us with a new family coming soon so a big thanks again to Nadya and the team at Noel Jones for giving us a positive experience and a great start for our new journey.
Stay away from this real estate. Kerry Lucus at Noel Jones Ringwood is the rudest most incompetent agent I have ever experienced. Not only is she terrible at her job she has a disgusting attitude and should really consider changing industries to something that does not involve customer service. Noel Jones - Selling Australia to China 638 sq meters at a time.
This is about Noel Jones Blackburn. We rented a house with them last year in Jan 2017. All was going good until the owner decided to sell the property. Then we saw the sharks and vultures who work for Noel Jones descend on our house and treat us like squatters. These people get the most amount of money for the least amount of work. (Girls and boys in school if you're reading this, real estate is what you should be aiming for - no work and big bucks ). They used to open our doors without knocking. Expected us to leave the house so their precious...Chinese clients could wander through our house without us being in their way. No courtesy to the renters living there paying them rent every month and keeping the property in great shape. The only ones they cared about was the Chinese. One thing I will give them though. They know who their clients are and go after them. Our house was sold well to guess who - a Chinese lady. After the auction I had to clean our house of trash, empty water bottles, sticker wrappers and mud. Not joking. Chinese lady gets house, NJ gets their commission and poor little me gets to clean. Well, no worries. I cleaned my house and moved on with my life. Now the new landlord thinks that as she owns the house she can come anytime to our house, knock on all our doors and windows, till we open the door. No respect for our privacy, no call to let us know she wants to come over. Nothing. Sometimes I find her in my backyard snooping in my shed. What does Noel Jones do about this? Nothing. Chinese people are their bread and butter. Being Asian myself I ignored this and let her come when she wants. After all my Aunts back home are famous for snooping and poking their noses where they don't belong.
Rent takes a week to hit my account from the tenants
Noel Jones tell me the rent gets paid in time but I never receive it into my bank account until nearly a week later. Whenever I question this I get told it needs to “clear”. These days with online banking that seems ridiculous. I very much doubt cheques are being used!
Whenever I ask why it’s taking so long to get the rent I just get lies. I think the tenant is paying late but Noel Jones is just letting them without confronting them. Weak.
Beaware if you are handing your property for rent
I was burnt very badly by Noel Jones Glen Iris ([name removed] and [name removed]). They failed to do proper inspections and document clearly, failed to report any faults and incidents when tenants left. Even some of the repair done through them were very very average and double the price. Their engaged contractor broke the garage door and they made us pay for it.
Be very careful in how you let them manage. Ideally if the agency or agent fails then they should pay for unreported damages and incidents.

We are the owner of a Forest Hill property. Not a good first impression with NJ based on a few issues:
1) property was furnished, lots of confusion as to what the tenants want and what they don't. Which we were eventually being told by the agent that the tenant didn't want anything, so we decided to sell everything.
On a weekday, 9PM at night, three buyers come to collect the furniture, turns out all three items are being used by tenants and cannot be taken out. I almost broke into tears when a gentleman drove in from Geelong was so angry...with me that he didn't get the red couch for his daughter. 2) tenant agrees to undertake some repairs on the property for a reduction in rent. Which was fine. But the defects done by the tenant was miscommunicated. For a $2600 reduction in rent on a one year lease, tenant only need to paint two rooms. Which we had originally thought was for majority of the house.
I rented a property from an agency that later got absorbed into Noel Jones Glen Iris. After 5 years many of the problems had never been addressed, notably poor water pressure and windows that were unable to be opened as the mechanisms were broken.
After I decided to move out, getting the new lease in my housemates name, not both of ours, took months, and after seeing 4 different property managers in less than one year, I have very poor opinions of this company.
If you're looking for an agent that will only collect money from a property, this is for you. But if you want your property actually managed and satisfied tenants, go anywhere else.

They used neighbor's private land to put their advertising board without an attempt of asking. After months there it was not enough but refused to remove the board after asking them to do so for days. Brett Freeman and Tian Jin were very rude in dealing with my complaint, Tian even hanging up in the middle of conversation. Good advertising chaps.

Ethics! What ethics?
My 83yr old father was selling only his second house in his life & chose NJ Mitcham via private sale and later auction. I hold my father's medical and financial Powers of Attorney as an insurance policy to ensure all my fathers needs are catered for. He chose NJ based on their verbal appraisal value of $1m to $1.1m, however this later changed to $950-$1050k when later signing the contract. At the time of signing I made clear that I must be informed of all material information communicated to my father. My father also agreed to a very high adver...tising fee structure because he wanted a good job done. Finally we also informed the agent if we ultimately went to auction we would not disclose the reserve until auction. We had a few further issues which resulted in me again warning in writing that I must be kept fully informed. Day of the auction I arrived several minutes prior to the sale process. Within 15-20mins of the process the agent/auctioneer approached my father to inform him that he would try for $950K. This shocked me as we had not discussed a reserve. Subsequently it was revealed that the agent, without my knowledge, met with my father 2 days earlier and asked my father to initial a document which apparently gave the reserve of $950k. My father said he was unaware that was what he had initialled. The sale process immediately broke down. The property passed in at $880k final bid $930k. Only reported as PI at $880k. No adjustments to ad board which simply advertised a failed auction for days after. All this for ~$5k in ad costs et al. Demanded money back only to be offered ~$800. My elderly father still stresses over the loss and the cruelty.

Fantastic team! We run a relocation service for people needing to rent in Melbourne and have now leased 3 properties from this agency on behalf of our clients. They have great customer service and are always willing to go the extra mile for their landlords. For the latest property we rented the property manager Yvonne Leigh had recommended some minor improvements to her landlord which were undertaken. My client was so impressed they ended up offering an amount above the weekly asking price.
