Terrible communication – I contacted Northcote Lawyers on the 23 Oct 23 with an issue. I spoke to Peter Lynch, who was positive about my case and my chances for a win. I forwarded the requested information that day via email. Since then I have left numerous messages on Peter’s phone, with his office staff and numerous emails. I have not received a single reply to any message left. I would steer clear of this firm. Fortunately I have not paid them any money to them. Save yourself time and stress and look for another law firm.

I do not recommend Northcote Lawyers – I do not recommend Northcote Lawyers. They invoiced for thousands of dollars more than the quote given. I was extremely disappointed with their professionalism, communication skills and service of handling family matters. A formal complaint was forwarded to VLSC and a resolution was declined by Peter Lynch. My next step is VCAT.

Rookie mistake poor service-overcharging – I applied for Probate with Northcote Lawyers in Early 2020 but they failed to pick up that the Will was only a copy. Cost $10,000 Application then made using the copy Will with affidavits that were written out so badly the witnesses would not sign. Once corrected. Probate obtained. Cost $10,000. Application for Executors commission Waited for seven months. Gave up on Northcote lawyers. Got a bill for $5,600 Northcote Lawyers had held back $30,000 from Estate and helped themselves to the money. Total cost $25,600 Applied though a new lawyer.TFR Lawyers who did the job in less than two months and only charged $3,000 I have approached Northcote Lawyers and they maintain that they have done a job of work as expressed in the invoice showing details of time spent. Although they spent time it was misspent 1-Failure to recognize the Will was a copy Cost-$10,000 2-Presenting affidavits with wrong information. Cost $3,000 3-Claiming to have done a lot of work on the application for Executors commission And having a draft prepared. —No Draft ever shown or presented Cost-$5,600. I have made repeated attempts for some sort of re-dress and they maintain they were at no fault. In fact they actually have the temerity to blame me. These are statements of fact.
