Easy to deal with and worth the money

My car had a accident while we were standing on a red light and were hit from Behind. Since I had the details of the person who hit me, the claim process was very smooth. I was also given a loan car for 3 weeks (initially 2 weeks and then extended for another 2 weeks but i returned after a week as my car was repaired by then). The claim was done on phone and i was provided with a list of repairers to choose from and it got repaired nicely.

NRMA splits one car accident into two clams even when we have video footage.

NRMA have turned one claim into two claims with no explication at all.
I have called 15 time over 5 weeks and they say i will get manager to call back but never do.
every time i call they WILL NOT EXPLANE why my claim has been rejected.

Had a car accident with a nrma client where the nrma client has tried to over take me but the driver is refusing the lodge the v&d because they know they are at fault.

Nrma are saying there's nothing they can do and maybe the customer has been too busy to lodge paperwork of their version of events.

It was 6 months ago obviously they know they at fault and judging by damage to both cars it's pretty straight forward who is at fault

Well done Nrma a bunch of criminals I will be taking this further

Expensive, but still a reliable insurer

I've been an NRMA customer for nearly 20 years had some claims before and they were handled without problems. I'm insuring two of my cars with NRMA, but come renewal time I did my numbers - in 4 years time my BMW 1 series' insurance went up by 40% despite zero claims and no changes in address, annual mileage or garaging conditions.
As an example, my renewal notice is $1383 with 65% no claim bonus and 17.5% loyalty discount while an equivalent policy could be obtained from AustPost, Budget and a plethora of other companies for ~$800-900.
The best question is why and whether loyalty is worth anything these days...

I have and that is why I'm at loss - I'm getting 17.5% off and the quote is still 40% higher. Same car, same location, same travel distance per year, windscreen protection, rental car option, no choice of repairer...

an NRMA customer went into the back of my car and nrma told me it would be a week till they can fix it 1 month later i have heard nothing i have called them numerous amounts of time no one has called me back the other party involved in the accident was very lovely but NRMA have done nothing to help and have given me no answers and LIED!

My insurance went up alot but i let it go but it bother me so i called and spoke to a lovely gentleman from south Africa he explained the reson why which was helpful then gave me a discount because i have a brilliant driving record which i was very happy about .he also emailed everthing too me....wonder customer service

An Easy and Positive Experience

My new policy is good value and highlights how expensive my now departed Volvo was to insure. Claims lodged over the years were all processed to my satisfaction.
Every car I have owned since 1956 has been insured with NRMA.
Only roadside service needed was for new batteries and that was always quick.

Loyalty discount does not seem to exist as it turns out that i get a 20 dollar discount .{i applied on line pretending to be a new customer}
instead of their $ 969 price i am going elsewhere for $696.
Loyalty only seems to go one way After 44 yrs
And what's more ,when you go into the branches you can actually "Feel" the greed in the air when speaking to counter staff.

How long your vehicle takes to get asses will depend on the damage to your vehicle , your location and also the availability of assessors in your area. You would be best to speak with claims directly to get an accurate time frame for your claim. In regards to hire car, I can see from your premium breakdown that you do have the hire car option on your policy so claims will be able to organise you a hire car whilst yours is off the road.

We have had car insurance with NRMA Insurance for close to 40 years and only had one claim about 20 years ago when a car was stolen. We received full payment of the insurance valuation of the car within a week.

We currently have friends who are checking around different companies for car insurance renewal and they have asked the following question:
* Would they be covered for mice damage to a car?

As we have never had this problem, we are wondering if anyone can respond to this question.

Hi Montrose, thanks for the question! Genreally it is covered but it is a case by case scenario depending on how the damage was caused. Reckless damage to the vehicle which then results in mice damage may be an example of when we won't cover it or general wear and tear or maintenance issue. Hope this helps. ~Natalie
