Second Hand Ink
Ordered a black and colour ink online, then received them, but my printer message was that the black cartridge is used/second hand. I took it out and it was obvious that this was used, it looked worse than the cartridge I replaced. I sent a complaint to officeworks, no response, then I sent an email via Paypal, and they wanted me to pay for freight to get a refund, sorry I am not paying freight and loosing money for your second hand products that you are selling to customers as "new". I refused to pay this, it was a loss of $100 for me, but will never buy from office works again. Will go to Cartridge World or any other company instead.
Shocking refund service
Absolutely disgusting service to receive a refund . Phone call after phone call, also visiting the store keep getting told different stories. Don’t bother with this company, the whole dealings has been disgusting to say the least!

Never using clink and collect
I purchased a item from officeworks online on the 13th, I noticed it said it be ready by the 18th, I didn't worry to much about as it said in store and all my past click and collect have been ready the next day. However this item was never the case. The the 18th come along and click the check up date which took me to the "Toll" tracking site, obviously "Toll" site is broken because it shown it was picked up on the 15th, the 16th said it was on its way and will be at my local store on the 18th However its the 23rd and it hasn't moved from where...it left from. On the 18th I asked main office of officework about what was going on the person was so rude and told me that it will be in my local store on the 22nd. So 22nd come along and still nothing I contacted the person again and pointed out that I'm not happy with the service and requested a refund. She then replied with crippted reply saying they will refund me once the item is back at the warehouse then I would have to wait another 4 days. Asking to explain that probably and how long do I actually have to wait because the item has not moved since the 16th, but have now been ignored. My local store I would give high score to but click and collect and the main office and toll get zero stars
Terrible service unfortunately
I called my local store to check stock levels on a certain item prior to order them through click and collect as I needed them on that same week. The store confirmed they had plenty of stock on hand (more than I required), so I proceeded with the click and collect order. A few hours later, I received an update on my order, saying it would now take a week rather than 2 days. I tried to call the store several times that Afternoon, nobody answered so had to drive to the other side of town to try sort the issue. Essentially they had made a mistake ...with the stock levels. I asked to cancel the order and they redirected me to the customer service phone line. It took me and customer service three attempts to cancel the order and get a refund as it couldn't be done until the store received the stock (and it was also very hard to get a response from the local store). Finally, almost a month later, I was able to get a direct refund from customer service over the phone as I pointed out, I have been waiting far too long (and they still didn't receive a response from the local store). Couldn't this be done in the first place?? Very disappointing from such a large company!! Never again.
New account FAIL
I opened a business account mid Feb, made a purchase for an Ipad to be delivered the next day (had to spend $100 more than needed due to no stock, but ok, Apple were out too) & the money ($787) left my account immediately.
When I hadn't received the Ipad the following afternoon, I logged in & it still said processing, so I called. They proceed to tell me my account had been flagged for a security reason (wouldn't say why) & was on hold. They also checked & were actually out of stock of the space grey colour.

Broken Desk! Disgusting
I got an office works desk delivered to my house this morning and the desk looked as though it had been dropped and dented. The paint of the desk has completely come off and the desk is dented on the left back corner. The metal bar of the desk has also been bent. For a desk that has costed me $299 i think this is absolutely disgusting! I wrote a complaint online in hope for my problem to be resolved but as Josh, who works for office works said, that is the LONG and SLOW way to do it. Josh who works at office works told me exactly that the way ...to get anything for FREE from office works is to complain online and i will get anything i want for free, He said in his own words. Josh from office works also told me to never buy anything directly from office works. Instead of Josh resolving this issue of mine, he simply told me to never buy from office works and if i complain i get whatever i want for free. Absolutely disgusting!!! I Would've been happy to resolve this situation but instead he continues to tell me that i will get stuff for free if i complain here. I believe i deserve a new desk and a refund. Awful customer service
I have used Officeworks for five years now for back to school book lists. The service up until this year has been fine. This year, however, is a completely different story and I will use Officeworks again nor would I recommend them.
I placed my click and collect order on 15/01/2021. The ETA did my order to be ready for click and collect from the store was 20/01/2021. I went online to track my order on 20/01/2021 and I noticed that my order was still in “preparing your order” status. I then called the call centre and I was notified by one of yo...ur staff members that there were delays and she was unable to provide me a date as to when my order was ready. I asked the reason as to why I wasn’t notified on the delay and request the reason as to why it took for me to have to call to be notified by the delay. The staff member could not provide me with an answer other than there were delays. At this point my order still read that my order would be ready for collection on 20/01/2021. I asked if my order would be ready before my children return to school on 27/01/2021. The staff member said that it could not be guaranteed. I was quite upset at this point as I did not want to send my children to school with no school books and stationary to start the school year. I then disconnected the call. After I had thought about the situation some more I called back to ask if my order could be escalated to ensure arrival at the store prior to 27/01/2021. I was then told that my order had already been picked, packed and was awaiting pick up for approximate arrival to the store on 21/01/2021. I then tracked my order again on 21/01/2021 and my order was still in “preparing your order” status. I called again (which is now the third call regarding my delayed order) and the staff member told me that my order HAD NOT been picked and packed. The staff member also told me that I would be best to go to the store and pick and purchase the order myself and then when the click and collect order arrives to return for a refund. I then asked if my order could be escalated at the warehouse and I was told no. I then asked if my order could be sent directly to the store for the staff to pick and pack and I was told no. I am beyond disappointed with the lack of customer service that I have received from Officeworks. I am disappointed that I was not notified of delays by Officeworks. I had to call the day my order was meant to be ready to be notified that there was a delay. The only correspondence that I have received from Officeworks was the morning of 21/01/2021 which notified that my order will be leaving Brisbane warehouse on 25/01/2021 which is useless as 26/01/2021 is a public holiday and the children start back at school on 27/01/2021. By the time this correspondence was received I had already made three phone calls to the call centre. It was not appropriate for a back to school order to be placed on 15/01/2021 to not be ready for pick up until the day the children start back at school. I am also infuriated that I was lied to by a staff member and was told that my order had been picked and packed which it clearly had not. Then to make matters worse I am told that I will need to go and pick the order myself at the store, pay for it for a second time and then waste more of my time when my click and collect order arrives to call again and organise a refund. Then when my order finally arrived in stock, I called to organise my refund. I was told that it would take 2-3 working days for me to receive my money. 12 days later I still have not received my refund. I have called again and I have been told they are waiting for the store to enter the products back in and it will be a further 2 days. I am beyond flabbergasted that such a large company can treat their customers this way. I am never using Officeworks again.
I can't believe they treat their customers this badly
Am happy to insert reviews very similar to what I experienced. But please note one box was opened by me, the other was not touched. Why am I not getting any refund so far for the untouched returned item? As for the first item, advertised as easy to build and well formed, I enclose ALL reviews from other customers who went through what I did. I have already enclosed before, photos of the box we returned that had been opened and the untouched box. There were two bookcases remember, and one we never opened or attempted to built. Why is there no cr...edit for that? I am also now copying all of this to the ACCC and Vcat, along with a picture of my toe where the item after being made, fell and cut it. One review explains how the holes in the bookcase are shallow and poor and the pins/screws don't stay in. They put it together and it fell apart three times. When I did it, it also fell apart but nearly broke my foot. I don't understand why Officeworks aren't just paying up. It is obvious this item has been very very poor for years and they have done nothing. It should not be this difficult, she agrees, and is doing a few things about it, or as much as she can. I did specify this is about their online store only, not the local stores. Received an email from Officeworks regarding a recall on a powerbank I purchased in 2018.The email clearly stated
"Consumers should immediately cease using the powerbank and return the product to Officeworks for a full refund"
I took the powerbank into my local Officeworks with a copy of the email and was advised because I don't have the receipt , going back almost four years ago , they are unable to issue a refund but give me a gift card instead or nothing.The amount comes to $39.00 which is not the end of the world but the email clearly st...ates that Officeworks will issue a full refund and nothing else was required. Who keeps a receipt from four years ago in case there is a product recall , not many if any people I would expect The staff at this particular store was not aware of the recall but I checked it on there website and it is real.

Delivery & False Advertisement
Purchased two items on 30 Dec 2020 via online believing that they would be delivered next day as advertised.
Today is 14th Jan 2021, no emails whatsoever on the status of delivery.
Sent an email but no response were received yet.
Never going to order anything via Officworks website ever again.
Took money out of my account
I went in store to buy a phone. But wasn’t in stock so I brought online for click and collect. Money went though waited 2 weeks and still haven’t gotten anything to say that my phone arrived to the store. So I went in store the next day they said that they canceled my order. And then they told me to call head office (stupid hours if your working 8am-5pm Monday to Friday). So I called them and they said yes we canceled your order. They said theirs no stock anywhere. But why is the website saying their in stock. Won’t be going back to officeworks

I bought an Apple MacBook Air on 30 March 2020 during lockdown. The item came with a faulty adapter, was crashing and had pixelation on screen. During lockdown, no one picked up phones at Officeworks. I also didn't get an acknowledgement from their online contact form. So, I contacted Apple who suggested that I should take the laptop to their store once they open after lockdown which I did. It was assessed by Apple computers for a major problem.
I took it to the Officeworks Chadstone where staff said that they'll send it to their repairers ev...en though I had the full report from Apple. So, for one, I bought a $1600 lemon, Officeworks wants me to leave it with them for 3 weeks so that they can fix it (and I don't get a loaner equipment) and I eventually get a faulty laptop that I wanted to return. Chadstone Officeworks told me that I could take it to their repairer if I was in a hurry. Like a fool I did because I needed the laptop and the staff refused to make a refund for it even though technically it was within 30 days return period due to lockdown. Repairer confirmed that the motherboard needed to be completely replaced. So, it's not really the laptop I bought. Finally, I'm the loser here. Officeworks doesn't care if they sell faulty items and they don't care about consumers. Lesson learned. Only to buy cheap stationery supplies from them. They don't deserve your big ticket item purchases.
Don't use their delivery service
Product purchased was wrong size so arranged pickup. Pickup never occurred, so when I made enquiries they tell me the driver said no one was home. We left product in A4 sized yellow envelope clearly marked "Officeworks Pickup" at the front door. I am to assume the driver didn't even enter yard although you could see envelope from gate too. I ended up returning product physically to a store where a refund only of the product was received. No delivery fee was refunded for this product even though this is where they stuffed up the most. In summary, don't waste your time for online delivery as it is not very reliable.
Ordered a sneeze guard, delivery was a day early ( great service), but that is where it has ended. The sneeze guard arrived damaged. Rang the local store 3 times, no answer, 13/10 emailed through their website as per their policy & received the Case number, told they would respond in 5 days haha. Did another email 21/10, another case number still no response. Clearly interested in only taking the money, not on customer service.
Wrong product no response
They’ve sent me a wrong product. Called them and they said they would investigate. Emailed them and no response. Used website query and no response. Everything goes into a black hole. Waste of money.

Still haven’t received the refund for a Bluetooth mouse that wasn’t suitable for IOS and had to return! No news from the costumer team since then (1.5 months) and no refund yet either!

I purchased the 5 drawrer and I have been consistently purchasing them because they are good.
I must say that the after service of office works is TERRIBLE. I'm sick of waiting 30 minutes to be in contact with them.
Dreadful online shopping experience
Purchased a printer with next day delivery due to needing one urgently. When it didn't arrive on the day I called to ask if it had been shipped which no body could tell me. I then asked if it were possible to cancel the order to which the rep advised to refuse the delivery from courier if it arrived. it did after I went about purchasing a printer elsewhere and the courier instead drove off leaving me with the goods. But the real kicker was the aftersevice. After waiting 2 weeks for a reply after again requesting a return, I took the goods in to...a store to return them. Several weeks later I get a email reply saying they can book a courier with a time window of 7 days (yep....) I replied saying that this is not needed since I've already returned the goods. Several weeks later I get a call from officeworks asking whether I need to return the goods, I reply no as I have already done so. Then, another several weeks later a courier turns up at my door unexpectedly to pick up the goods. There is clearly several issues with their systems and I cannot recommend the online shopping option to anyone

Online orders need improving
The last few online orders have been a bit of a nightmare. The recent one they sent the wrong product. Ordered a5 copy paper and they gave me a4. The shipping for that came fast however I know have to wait another week for the right product to be sent.
The previous time before that was a print order but the prints came out the wrong colours on a3 but where fine a4. Concluded it was an issue with their printer as the file was the same for both. They were nice to reprint the job but then they only reprinted half the job. I just don't want to de...al with anymore online orders from them anymore, especially printing. I've been sending customer support emails for month and never hear back so I don't think their email is working or being checked. It takes about a week response back from their social media. This time I just phoned them up right away. Also been having issues with the online portal. where it won't let me sign up because my email is already in use but then when i use the lost password on my email address it says it couldn't find an account with that email.
Questions & Answers
I recently ordered products that were out of stock, although the web site allowed me to purchase these products, I rang customer service, and they explained that new stock should be arriving soon. I have an invoice, and tracking says, preparing order, and the delivery date is today. Does this mean my order is in stock, and preparing for delivery, or does it mean, we are waiting for new stock to arrive, which could be whenever. I really don't want to wait, as this has happened before, I waited for over a week, and ended up cancelling the order, as no one could tell me, when the stock will arrive if ever.
If I wanted a response I would have contacted them directly rather than using a review site.
If it has happened before...go elsewhere obviously.

I did contact them directly, and they told me my order was out of stock. Then when I looked at the tracking it said, preparing order, but it hasn't moved from that. So obviously they are out of stock. So why put preparing order, when there's nothing to prepare yet. So you can see my confusion regarding this. I can't go elsewhere, because no one has what I ordered, unless I'm paying alot for shipping.
