Has the 3G been turned off? We are in Hobart. My husband's phone won't call any numbers and he gets a message that "this number is not available on this service."
Hi my elderly mum has an olitech she is having trouble...when she answers it she cant hear me unless she presses the speaker and then it is not always clear (I can hear her though). Have they somehow turned call volume off ??
I can't think of any way that the call volume can be turned off Parks. The only thing I can think is that she is in a poor reception area which can change even just walking around the house. Check the vertical line ramp shaped icon in the extreme top left. There should be at least 4 gradually lengthening vertical lines. Any less and you are losing reception. If reception is getting weak the lines will gradually start to disappear. Also check the battery in the extreme top right. The battery shape should have all black vertical lines.
How do I get into settings
Hi Jenny. First make sure it is unlocked. You press the bottom button below the torch on the right side to lock or unlock it. A padlock icon will show on top of the screen when pressed to lock or it will show on the whole screen when unlocking. Press the menu button. 6 icons should show with the "Messages" envelope on upper left corner. "Settings" is a tooth wheel on bottom right. Hopefully yours is set up the same as mine. Press the top arrow indicator between the green and red phone buttons and it should go straight diagonally down to it. If you press the bottom arrow then just keep pressing and releasing to jump from one icon to the next 'till you get there. Once on the tooth wheel press OK and the settings will show. Arrow down 'till you get the particular setting you want. It starts with "Profiles, then "Phone Settings" etc. To get back out simply press "Back" for "Settings" and "Back" again for the home time/date display.
I find it hard following instructions but I hope you can understand these. Good luck. Aussie.
Would really like some help! My 92 year old mother needs this phone as she lives alone. When she rings me ( or vice versa) I can hear her but she can't hear me at all. If I change the mode in her phone to hands free while on the call the voice activates again, but she cannot do this for every call. Any ideas how to fix this?
How do I get a longer ring tone on the phone as it rings out before I answer it?
Unless it is diverting to voicemail - you can't change the ring time. Your mobile network provider sets the maximum ring time that they allow before it rings out. It's usually shorter on mobiles than on home phones.
If it is diverting to voicemail, you can change the time it will ring before diverting. I'm not sure about Vodaphone, but on Telstra, to maxmise the ring time, enter this sequence on your mobile phone: **61*101**30# and press send. For Optus the code is **61*321**30#
In both of these codes, the "30" is the number of seconds it will ring before diverting. It can be any multiple of 5 up to 30 which is the maximum time they allow.
I would like to know why when i call my wife on her olitech mobile phone it goes straight to message bank
Joseph, there are several possible reasons :-
1. Immediate call diversion has been set so the network diverts all calls without attempting to contact the phone.
2. The phone is in a poor signal strength location and unable to reply to the network when called.
3. The battery charge is low and the phone is unable to reply to the network when called.
4. The phone is busy and the number is set to divert incoming calls when busy.
5. Your wife doesn't want to talk to you and has turned the phone off. ( just kidding )
You don't say whether this happens every time or only sometimes. If it is every time , then it's probably No.1
If only happens some of the time, it's more likely to be 2, 3. or 4.
If you are with Telstra, dial #002# Send, to cancel all diversions. If you are on another network, check their call diversion codes.

Is there another method of locking/unlocking the phone when the switch is covered with the protective case
In more recent versions of software, the EasyMate+ can be unlocked using the * key (when phone is locked, press and hold for 3 seconds to unlock the phone). Auto keypad lock can also be set up in the phones settings which would remove the need to press the lock key to lock the phone. If your phone does not have this version of software, it can be updated at our Melbourne office.
Under "phone settings " I can see " Lock Key Status" which gives me "Lock" or "Unlock " options .Does either setting enable locking of the phone when not in use ?
The Lock Key Status either enabled (unlock) or disables (lock) the lock key. Auto keypad lock can be found under Menu > Settings > Security Settings > Auto Keypad Lock.
In calender mode, can days, weeks or months, be set to function periodically.
For example a reminder for a specific medication at 4 day intervals.?
Does olitech easy mate have an head phone facility?
Yes. It can be found on the left hand side of the 'phone where it may be connected regardless of whether the clamshell case is open or closed. Headphones are not supplied with the 'phone so you must purchase your own set and ensure that they fit the headphone connection port. This sort of information is available from the Olitech website by reading the user manual there. That's for the EasyFlip. On the EasyMate it is found at the top of the phone and again you must supply your own headphones.
