Not as good as the heater it replaced
Our existing heater, an Omega OBH-02, had come through several years of good service but was just looking a little careworn so it was relegated to a spare room. The new Omega Altise is a comparative disappointment. With just two bars for radiant heat it is not possible to select just one as with the OBH-02. This has three elements which can be used in any combination, singly or in multiples. Thus when a small amount of heat is required the Altise gives too much . . .and too costly. In the end we got fed up and demoted it to the spare room,...reinstating the original heater which cleaned up nicely and continues to gives us what we want. It is much more suitable for the open space in which we live, the ceramic part of the Altise being a bit redundant. With more research we would have looked at something else as the main heat in the house is gas central, with the electric heater as a back-up. The Altise works fine, it just isn't what we need.
