Okay for a small room
The set up was easy and could easily be placed anywhere in the room where there is a window. It usually takes 5-10 minutes for the room to start cooling and ~20 minutes for it to be completely cool. It is not quiet but isn't too loud either, it is worth the cooling. Overall satisifed with the product and is worth the price.
Works really well - difficult to empty.
We bought this unit to help dry the clothes when we can't use our outdoor line. We tend to do nearly all our washing on Monday (for 2 Adults + 1 Toddler) so we have a fair bit all at once. When we couldn't use our outdoor line for some reason this was difficult to dry. Took ages inside and some times ended up smelling musty.
This dehumidifier fixed all that. It dries a whole week of washing within 4-5 hours. We just leave it one room with the door closed. Works a treat. We love it when we have guests that need things washed overnight - you know for sure their washing will be nice and dry in the morning.
If you're after one - be aware these actually tend to make your room feel a bit stuffy - they do not cool the air
(although i believe help your other air conditioners to work much more effectively.) Although as we use it in one shut room ( about 14m2) this would be much more noticeable than a larger area.
I reckon it removes about 5l over the day and then it stops automatically and waits for you to empty which is good. There is no risk of leaks. However the water container fills up to about 97% which makes it basically impossible to empty without spilling some. We empty it in the bath usually - the water is very clean so it doesn't make a mess.
We've actually use some of the water generated in our steam iron - and not had any issues. Its a cheap iron and we've been doing this for about 7 months.
Would buy another one - hopefully newer models are easy to empty.
