I have a kitchen cabinetry business and this model rangehood is my go-to for a well priced, reliable recirculating rangehood. Easy to change face, LED lights and included carbon filters make this unit the pick of the bunch in this price point. I have installed at least 50 over the last 5years with no issues. If you dont know what you are doing dont write a poor review on a product you dont understand and install incorrectly! Show details

Should have kept my 1970s Rangehood – We bought an Omega Rangehood from The Good Guys in July 2023. What a disappointment! The electrician they subcontracted to install the rangehood dented & scratched our kitchen bench top while installing it. The Good Guys told me to take my complaint up directly with the electrician (who incidentally didn’t use a drop mat while installing the… Read more

rangehood) but denied not taking enough care while installing it. When I used the rangehood, water was dripping down the splashback & from the rangehood itself (see video & photos attached). After returning to The Good Guys to complain, staff got the Manager to speak with me & I was told it was an airflow capacity issue. When I told him I should have never replaced my 1970s rangehood because it was much more efficient than than the Omega, he shrugged his shoulders & said... it probably had better airflow capacity than the one you bought from us? Do you know what model it was? I didn’t. I replied... “So I am stuck with this inferior product?” He smiled & shrugged his shoulders again. I walked out of the store muttering “I guess if you pay peanuts you get monkeys?” Service & Product were a huge disappointment.

terrible manual – Spent a long time just replacing the 8cm front panel to the shorter one as it is not documented and need some brute force to unscrew it. Forgot to remove the venting cover as it wasn't clearly documented except for a few words in small font. Got a lot of screws and parts left, don't know what they are part as the manual is not clear. If you are not a tradie, i won't recommend getting it. Show details

Recirculating mode has no suction – EDIT: I called the customer service line and they were super helpful! We managed to diagnose the issue over the phone. There is a plastic panel over the vent that the recirculating mode uses was still attached and it was greatly reducing the suction power of the fan. I've attached some photos in case you have a similar problem. I have upgraded… Read more ·  2

my previous review - but, I think this step could be much better documented in the manual! There is no mention of it at all, and without it, the fan barely works in recirculating mode. It sounds like other people have had similar issues. However, the customer service I received was excellent so I would buy from Omega again.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have installed this exhaust fan and set it to recirculating mode as instructed in the manual. However, the suction power of the fan is not strong enough to pull air through the charcoal filter (required for when using recirculating mode)

When I remove the charcoal filter, I can feel some suction from the fan - but, after putting the filter on, nothing! So, it's extremely innefffective.

Would love help resolving this :( I just want a non-greasy cooking space!

Extremely low suction power – On max power, it can not even suck up a small piece of clear wrap that is 2cm away from the aluminium mesh filter. I have tried to call Omega, either the number is diverted to a voice mail number that was full,(i.e. can't even record a message) or have been in queue for 30min on 1300 739 033 and still no one to talk to. My issue looks similar to… Read more

an earlier post by Mandy. I wish I had read her post before going ahead with the order. Now I have what it appears to be a rangehood but without the air suction of a rangehood! Beware!!!

Instruction booklet is useless – The instruction booklet doesn't have a list of parts included and what they are for, leaving you with unused parts. The booklet doesn't give details on how to fix it to a cupboard just drawings that are so small it is unreadable. Show details

Installation problems – Changing the front panel from the 80cm to the 40cm requires a bit of brute strength to open the panel and finesse to replace the screws on the new panel. Mounting to the floor of a cupboard above requires drilling a hole in the cupboard floor approx 1.5 cm from the wall. Normal drills do not drill this close to a solid wall. Bad design to have the… Read more

support screws so close to the edge of the unit. Wall mounting may be easier but does not work inside a cupboard.

Noisy with annoying switches for fan and light – We've had this rangehood now for five years and it's still working fine. Installation was difficult but that might just be a common thing with rangehoods. The unit turned out to be noisier than we expected but my biggest gripe with the unit is the location of the light and fan switches. These are located on the underside of the front slide out… Read more

component. They are firm sliders and combined with their position it means you always need two hands to move the switches (as the slide component just moves back in).

Decent – Decent, no frills range hood. A bit on the noisy side but considering it's on the cheap end it serves the purpose. Filters are easy to remove and clean (I just pop them on a quick cycle in our dishwasher). The down lights also help with the meal preparation and checking how your cooking is going.  Show details

Low cost slideout rangehood that's effective – Replacement for a similar Omega that lasted 25 years before becoming too dirty. Well satisfied with this past experience so this low price sold me on the newer model. Width and length were the same but the exhaust to outside was now central and the height 10mm more. I checked sliding front, operation and all finishes and all worked smoothy before… Read more ·  1

installing (standard practice with mass-produced goods). In my kitchen I replaced the supporting shelf, cut hole, bolted in unit and installed a new ducting from unit to outside. DIY a fiddle but installed and works well - already had power point nearby so no electrical for me. Replaced the stainless steel front rail with another to match kitchen. Lighting is very good but bulbs get hot. Fan is good and not too noisy and suits us as we don't do a lot of wok frying (usually setting #2). Replacement carbon filters x2 are expensive but ours exhausts to the outside so will be replaced when required using fitted cheap filter cloth. I would like to think that this one will also last 25 years. Note that The Good Guys Price Match Guarantee does not apply to their ebay store as they sold them in store for less on the day I picked it up!!

Worst slide out rangehood on the market – Poor quality slide out rangehood unit. Probably the worst on the market. The sliding part doesn't fully extend. I don't recommend you to purchase this product. Sure it is a little bit cheaper that other rangehood. It's worth paying $30-$50 extra to have a descent unit that is going to last longer.

Don't touch – When we unboxed the unit and checked to see if everything was in order, we noticed the front sliding panel could not be fully extended. When pulled out it retracted a good 5cm back into the unit thus partial covering the rear filter and hence the fans. Took it back and noticed the display model did the same.

OK but sounds like a 747 taking off – Bought this item about 6 months ago as part of kitchen renovations as salesperson at Harvey Norman recommended it as a good performing rangehood that was substantially cheaper than most. We have found that it works well however the noise is excessive with a roar that sounds like a Boeing 747 taking off! This is to the extent that we attempt to… Read more

time its use to periods when we have no visitors (given that people for dinner tend to congregate for conversations near the kitchen when cooking is going on). The exposed brushed chrome finish is also a little substandard (but probably acceptable for the price). Very good value versus competition. Effective operation. Excessive noise; chrome finish not up to scratch.

great product for a great value – this is exactly the product i was looking for. The design is great, the functions are great and it is affordable. I can recommend it to anyone. I have looked at some better brands and more expensive product but this product can easily compete within them for almost half price. I have installed by my self. Enjoy!
