Ok though, not as good as expected
Bought this omo sensitive clothes washing liquid as I've got dermatitis . In it went into the washing machine with the clothes and water then out it came relatively clean as it wasn't too dirty however, has a weird smell when wet so might go back to the normal omo clothes washing liquid range.
Omo Sensitive powder - no smell!
I've just noticed a January 2019 review stating that this product is no longer unscented. If that is the case, I would no longer recommend it. Who would have thought people would have to endlessly chase around from brand to brand to get a washing powder that doesn't have perfume added to it? Clearly there is a market for at least one scent-free washing powder. Can someone just make that, write "unscented" on the box, and stick to it please!
Another ProductReview member kindly recommended Cold Power Sensitive as an unscented option, so I will try that next.
I do not suffer from allergies, I just don't want to smell of washing powder.
This review is for the powder version.
Purchased in January 2017.
Great if you like clean clothes without the perfume
4/5 stars. Why? Well I'll tell you why :P
It has no colours or perfumes so you avoid 2 things :
1 - you can't accidentally stain your clothes if you drip it on them and leave it or simply don't turn your machine on straight away.
2 - your clothes smell very clean but without any fragrance which is great for sensitive skin & sensitive noses!
Dissolves well like all Omo liquids (I don't use powders as they do not dissolve 100% when used in high efficiency front loaders - any machine that uses under 70 litres a wash is what you'd define as...high efficiency which means they cannot dissolve hard to dissolve formulas). If you like to wash in temperatures over 40C you should use something like Omo Sensitive that has no enzymes in it (enzymes are almost completely destroyed in any temp over 40 degrees). Compared to Omo Ultimate liquid that has enzymes, you probably notice a 15% difference in stain removal performance however ultimate has a strong smell so I prefer to go without the enzymes plus for hygiene reasons like to wash in 60C temps often.
Must of changed the formula there's no smell before or after wash which is what I wanted
For some reason they must of changed the formula as when I used the powder OMO ages ago it used to have a smell before and after wash but now the sensitive liquid one doesn't have no smell to it is what I want! Very disappointed that I spent $15 for a 4 litre one that changed formula.
Was good for the skin but not the pocket
I found it worked well when it dissolved. If I was using it on anything but the longest cycle I found it better to pre-dissolve it in some hot water then add it to the machine, which was a bit of a hassle. But it was good for my son who is sensitive to fragrances and soaps. I also found it washed the clothes well and left the smelling fresh and clean without any soaking which was a bit of a time saver. It was great that it came in a 5kg box too, it lasts for ages.
didn't dissolve well, expensive
My husband and I use different laundry powder. He uses a cheaper version with a strong fragrance because he thinks his clothes then 'smell' clean. If I use his powder I end up with shockingly itchy skin as I am allergic to a lot of frangrances. As a person with sensitive skin I don't have much of a choice but to use this more expensive product. I think I did see another sensitive skin detergent on the market the other day but I don't think it was suitable for my use. Up till now it has been the only one I can find in a normal supermarket that I...can use. I also use OMO Sensitive for the kids. I have not had any issues with it and find that the clothes come out quite clean. Is on the expensive side compared to other brands but I always wait and buy it on special and then stock up. I use this product as it has been the only one without a fragrance and I am allergic to most other brands. Fairly expensive. You can't buy the OMO sensitive in bulk only the normal OMO which is a real shame.
On the whole i got this one as it mentioned about anti asthma properties-like fighting dust and to be honest it was effective.I use this for washing beds, quilts, quilt covers and the fragrance is not very strong.
Good fragrance,suits persons with Asthma
This did not dissolve fully and left residue in the powdertray many times.
I use this powder now because it is the only one that will properly dissolve in my washing machine, otherwise I would use Surf which works great and is much cheaper. I really like the fact that as opposed to normal Omo, it doesn't leave a strong odour on the clothes once they are washed. It is also the powder that works the best in my machine as we have had lots of trouble with the machine working properly and dissolving the powder properly. I only ever buy it on sale because it is very expensive and it does still irritate my skin at times so I...am not completely happy with it but use it because it is my best option right now. Doesn't leave a strong smell on your clothes, cleans well. Expensive, have bought boxes of it that were all clumped together, have had trouble with it dissolving properly, and have had it still irritate my skin.
Questions & Answers
There is nothing on the label or OMO website that I can find to say if his is suitable or unsuitable for septic systems. Does anyone know?
