New house and rainwater tank. Pump purchased 8 months before installed by experienced local plumber 4 years ago. 1 year later, typically when guests arrive (Xmas eve) pump decides to not work. Bought a cheap Bunnings pump Boxing day so we could wash etc. Onga fixed it under warranty several weeks later. Pump had a suction side strainer. All house taps had to have the strainers cleaned to remove the shredded impeller. Back in action.
Easter 12 months on pump fails again (deja vu!!). Impellor shredded again. Out of warranty. Repairer said that t...
Useless over priced.
They say to you that you have a 2 year warranty and the pump died 2 weeks before the end of of warranty. They have even denied the pump retailers claim.
Even my pump retailer won't ever deal with them again.
Now that is really saying something. They have been taken over recently by an American company that to me is cash focused and not Customer focused.
This pump is overpriced and unreliable. I have had continual problems with the pressure control and both pentair and the dealer were of no help whatsoever. Pentair just said well that's the way they come and there was nothing they could do about it, and the dealer said to control flow from the tap!! Very technical advice.

Purchased a Dominator Pump and Water Switch ONGA/ PENTAIR
Purchased to drive a water supply to three toilets,a washing machine, and one garden hose.I have replaced the dominator pump twice in three years and also two water switches. The most recent faulty product (Water Switch) defective out of the box new.....Pentair very difficult to work with at any level and have told others not to buy...They know there is problems with this range but refuse to fix until you pay.....very disappointed.
Nothing...out of the three years we have had the system it has only be working for a year in total.
Everything...the entire system is of poor quality and low reliability given the small work demand.
An expensive overrated, under supported product
The pump is advertised as suitable for rural households. What they do not tell you, is that it is not suitable for use if you have evaporative cooling, or low pressure hot water systems - as the pump continually cycles. When I raised this concern with the manufacturer - they told me to change the plumbing in my house. After 25 years of successful use of a Davey pump in the same situation, all I can say is I was sold an expensive dud - which does not save electricity as indicated in the sales brochure. Don't buy this product, and certainly do...n't expect product support from Pentair. Model has since been discontinued - apparently it did not perform to expectations - too bad for those of us who bought one expecting a high quality product! Will never buy an Onga pump again! Does not perform as advertised, and manufacturer displays a lack of care & support.
Purchased in February 2013 for $1,600.00.
