Camera is very good, clear pictures, good brightness and good display, apps download good, occasional net surfing, use the calculator, using apps. Bright flashlight, i also use the facial lock. Excellent battery.
Excellent battery, no lag. Five star in the budget category
I have had the AX5 for 3 months, It's a great budget phone, excellent battery,.large screen, no lag. Rather sturdy as it fell a few times and the screen did not break. Limitations are: the camera (not too bad but not high end) and a few anoying things with the Oppo sofware, for instance I have tried but not found out how to use Google Chrome as my default browser (for links, searches etc.). I still give it give stars as I rely can't complain it's serving me really well, I like it.
Great value for money.
Had this phone for 4 months now and can honestly say it is a great phone, the camera quality is great, it allows me to run multiple apps at the same time without slowing down. The resolution for the is not quite as good as other phones I have had, it is great for games the large screen offers larger view.

Easy to use and affordable l
Have had phone for 2 months now and find it so easy to use. Very happy with the quality of the photos ...I have been asked a few times what camera I'm using...no just my phone haha. As we are living on the road my phone is used for everything and I'm more than happy with its performance. Only downside and it's not terribly bad is the screen can be hard to see out in the sun. Battery life is fantastic. I would happily recommend infact I already have.p

Great Phone for the price
This is no flagship phone but for $377 outright it is fantastic value. First of all you get a beautiful looking handset with a huge bright clear screen. Calls are clear even on hands free. Apps run smooth and I like color os being a hybrid of apple os and android, somehow for me it just works it is smooth and responsive. Now I did use the clone phone feature we had to buy another oppo ax5 which we used for 2 weeks as the original was left at another location. when we finally got it it was a snap to copy all messages contacts and setting from ...one phone to another. The camera takes clear images portrait mode works well though I have not tried it out in low light yet. Battery lasts for days literally. Face unlock is quick, sure no finger print scanner but the face unlock is fine. In summing up I would recommend this phone lots of features for a bearable price tag. If you need all the bells and whistles than yes there are other options but lots more coin to fork out.
Great but has some Lags
OPPO AX5 Is really great for the price. It has great predictive text, a lot of cool functions like facial recognition and a really nice camera. It pretty much does everything that iPhone and Samsung Galaxy do BUT; It has a lag especially in it's keyboard and games. It is no good for games at all. I love that it has a secure password keyboard but that lags the most. It is also really light and felt a bit curved inward until I pushed on its back and straightened it out. So it's not a tough phone like a Samsung. Everything works fine otherwise and...is good for a spare phone or an invetweener, which is why I bought one. I wanted a phone that does everything I need while I'm in between phones and I can keep it and use it if I ever need a spare. Oh yeah and it would only transfer items from the cloud not a direct transfer from a nearby phone. I was too lazy to look for an app. I can't wait to see how good my photos are tomorrow when I go to laser skirmish. Dark flash pics are cool.
Purchased in February 2019 for $350.00.
Superb battery performance, thumbs down to overall performance
Camera is terrible at lowlight. Doesn't include fingerprint and nfc. Face recognition is terrible. Sound is bit low. I cant hear person speaking at other end.
Battery is fantastic. I dont have to worry if I forget to put it in charge overnight. Bought it for $379 at JBHIFi and I think I should have bought R15s.

Great budget smartphone
This is a great phone if, like me, you prefer to buy outright and avoid lengthy lock-in contracts. Its my first Oppo and it does everything I need it to do. The apps run well, there's plenty of space, and the battery life is great.
I particularly like the night-shield function, which reduces the amount of blue light emitted from the screen. It's noticeably gentler on my eyes, and I do feel like I fall asleep more easily when I switch to night-shield during the last few hours of the day.
On the down side, the screen gets very reflective an...d hard to see when outdoors, especially on a sunny day. It's easily solved by increasing the brightness, but that can be a bit of a battery drain especially if you forget to switch it back later on. (I also wish the phone was smaller, its just that little bit too large to fit comfortably in a pocket.... but I'm aware that phones in general are trending towards larger screens and I'm probably siting outside the tide of popular opinion on this one). On the whole I'm very happy with this phone.
Purchased from Officeworks, rep was quite helpful.
Using as a dual sim phone and battery lasts well into 2nd day once you cut out all background apps (I do prefer to say applications but battle lost).
Would have liked a smaller phone to better fit into shirt pocket, always using 4+ emails addresses (exchange/outlook) and really liking the larger screen for now so benefits out way here.
Face Id works well and the phone manager keeps memory cleared...why it needs 2gb out of 4gb to run is beyond me. Takes time to shut down other running apps pe...

Seems great so far
I've only had my Oppo A5 for a day but so far, I love it. Big, clear screen. Easy to use. Appears to have all the functions and features I want.
I was disappointed to find that my Aldi prep-paid chip didn't fit in it. Will NEVER buy anything at Officeworks again. Absolute WORST service of any store in Australia. I had my old phone with me and asked them to swap the chip over but they refused, saying it was easy. No warning that the SIM size was different in newer phones. (They knew the age of my old phone). Also didn't honour price match guara...
love the battery, face unlock, dual sim, included clear case
I had my first Oppo phone (f1f) before this one. After how much I loved that phone (sadly not waterproof tho...!) there was no question of replacing it with anything but another Oppo. Well this phone is incredible. It really feels like care and thought have gone into the features.
A nice selection of in phone photo editing options, but not much in the way of adjustments available at the time of taking the photo so far as I can see.
Bright torch LED. Long lasting battery. Face unlock works really well with me, I hope it EXCLUDES people ...who look similar to me though, I am looking forward to trying it with my sister but she lives interstate so could be a while. Proper dual active SIM 3g/4g. Sim 1 is the slot at the opposite end from the SD card slot. SIM 2 is the middle one. It takes NANO sim. I like that it uses micro USB so all those old chargers you have everywhere still work with this phone. I like the VIP favourite caller option which even overrides silent mode when they call. For some reason though when I put my partner as a VIP contact the phone ring changes to a daggy one that came with the phone even though it says it should be the track I have loaded as my ring tone for everyone (and which is working for all other calls. Also I am not sure why they have discontinued the function that when you set an alarm it tell you how long til it goes off..I find that really handy to make sure the alarm is set right. Besides that, so far other complaints at all. It is luxury at a very affordable price. If you are new to android, Kingsoft office is free on play store and is good for document editing. I like using Swiftkey keyboard. SMS back up and restore (green clock logo) worked well to get my calls and messages off the old phone (just before it died) and onto this one. I had to Google how to transfer contacts onto SIM card...very hard to find how to do it compared with old phone. All in all good value and would recommend.
Best phone I've owned
At first I thought Oppo's were just another average quality phone, that was until a lot of my friends got other versions. My old phone was slow, old and ran out of storage. I upgraded to the AX5 and my god, expectations exceeded, face ID works perfectly (when there is lighting) Camera is great, battery life is ridiculous, UI is Iphone level, not to mention the phone looks great. I thought the notch at the top of the screen would be a hindrance (it kind of is when trying to swipe down from the middle) but it doesn't obstruct your view like in a ...lot of other new phones. I'd prefer this phone over an Iphone X which is amazing considering you can buy 3 AX5's for the same price as a 64GB Iphone. My only complaint is I don't like the look of the notch. In my opinion it's far better than the new Galaxy and Iphones. I guess I'll be sticking with oppo for the next few years. (Not a sponsored post, this phone is actually uber-underrated.)

Questions & Answers
How do i connect the charger line to the phone as it does not seem to want to go in?
That should just be a matter off connecting your USB to a Computer or doing via 240v using an adaptor.
and the other end (micro) into your phone. Do you have the instructions go to this link and under Basics - search there is a charging instructions. The only thing I can think of is your charging port on your phone is damaged.
this can happen if you tried to force it in the wrong way? There is a symbol on the cable that connects to the phone and this should be facing up when you put it in. It is a pretty standard cable as it works on my wifes phone as well and other devices. If you have another cable for a different phone try that.
If the port is damaged take it back to the store where you purchased it and just tell them it is not charging. It will be covered under warranty. ps dont tell them you could of done it lol.
It could be the cable that is damaged only so you would only have to replace that but if it is the phone that will have to be fixed under warrantly possibly. All the best. Here is their support page. You can ring them or chat online.
You will most probably have to copy and paste this link as I dont think you can go direct on this site.
How can I have the pictures I take with my Ax5s be at the top of gallery and most recent instead of scrolling all the way to the bottom?
Yes it was a learning experience for me as well. I downloaded the Google Photos app and all pics I take are in there as well as the oppo pics and vides. What I like is you can put the pic up and then click the symbol on the left bottom ( looks like 3 dots joined by lines) This comes up with sites you can send the pic to e.g FB Newsfeed etc. It is easier for me. The Google Photos that you took today come up with a Today heading so you have your latest pics video's The Instruction manual has a good run down on using the camera and I read it after I stuffed around for hours... The old try it and when all else fails read the instructions LOL.
The instructions for the Phone are under apps in instruction manual. You will have to copy and paste this link to your browser.
When i am getting incoming calls it says hidden number how can I make it so it shows there number Oppo ax5s ??
As far as I know you cant. I work for a Government Dept... whenever they ring me it shows hidden number. I'm guessing either because of the number of extensions or they don't want their number out there!
