Eye Glasses Still Not Right
I have been going to OPSM for years and generally find them very good. Recently I had my prescription updated and was told that it could take some time to adjust because they are multi focals, but two weeks later I am really struggling. I am told my presciption is correct but I am still suffering balance and vision issues and I need to have my husband to hold onto just so I can get around safely. I feel like my concerns are not being taken seriously. This is my safety we are talking about. Very frustrated.
December 19th 2019 Update: Diff...iculty with New Glasses I have had multi focals for years but recently I had my prescription changed to much stronger ones and after two weeks I am still having problems adjusting to them. I have explained my difficulties to the shop and they insist my prescription is correct. I am getting really frustrated as I don't think my safety is being seriously. My balance is off and I have to rely heavily on my husband to help me get around. I have never had problems with multi focals before. I think being continually be told that my eyes will adjust is no longer good enough.
A few months went into OPSM Brookside for eyetest which required an upgrade to new glasses. I have one eye that is long sighted and one eye short sighted so I needed one pair for long sight and one pair for short sight. Went back a few days later to collect glasses and it was like I was putting on magnifying glasses. Everything was huge and moving my head made the room swim. I was advised to be patient and give myself time to adjust. I tried for over a week but could not cope with them. My head was always swimming and I felt dizzy wearing the...m. Took them back and had them checked and a different Optometrist said that they had had a 'prism' added to them but they couldn't really work out why. So off they went to the lab to be remade. It is now almost two weeks later and I have phoned them at least three times and been in there twice since, trying to find out where my new lenses are. (I still have the old lenses in the glasses). Out of at least 5 communications I have had only one follow up call back. The 'killer' was on Friday when I went in I was told my lenses were 'in transit' and might be in that afternoon. Nope they weren't. So I asked where they were 'in transit from' and was told either Thailand or China!!! I can't believe that OPSM have to send overseas to have lenses/ glasses made. I am now expecting that if and when they do finally arrive that there will not be anyone in the store with the capability of removing the old lenses and inserting the new ones. One thing is for sure, once I get my glasses back, and I can see out of them, I will not be going back to an OPSM store.
Not happy Jan
Firstly, let me state that I have been most impressed with the quality of eye testing at my local OPSM store. The staff in this department have never been anything but professional, efficient, caring and friendly.
Re the purchase of eyeglasses and continuing customer care - well that is a different story. After paying a considerable amount of money for my last two pair of reading glasses, I was most dismayed to note the rapid deterioration of both pairs with regard to the protective coating. When I took the first pair back to my local store, ...I was told that nothing could be done as I was a few weeks out of warranty. So I promptly arranged for another pair, was told to bring them back straight away if I noticed any problems with the protective lens coating and paid out another large sum of money. When I took the glasses back to the store today, I was told, that yes, my concerns about the protective coating were justified but nothing could be done (yes, I am still in warranty as the glasses are less than 18 months old) as the film is apparently lifting due to the fact that my glasses must have rolled forward, causing a slight scratch on the lens!!! Suffice to say that I have been extremely careful and vigilant with this pair due to the problems with the previous pair. Also suffice to say that I am am most displeased that the protective lens coating on both pair of glasses has been most problematic, to the point where I could not even see out of the original pair and this pair is obviously going the same way - with little care and no suggestions from the staff members on either occasion. I might add that I have ordered at least 6 pair of eyeglasses over the years and have only ever had a problem with these 2 pair ordered through OPSM. With this sort of customer care and quality (or lack thereof) of products, I am hesitant to return to OPSM.
NO Customer Service
Ordered 2 boxes contact lenses, the parcel has been shipped without any tracking information. I want keep an eye on it since I will be on vacation soon. Called the customer service twice but no one answer the phone. Left a voice message no one call me back. Sent emails twice and no response at all. Sadly, I should read online reviews before making purchase. Don't order from OPSM online and do not waste your time and frustrate yourself.
Bad after sales service.
Sat in store at a Charlestown NSW for nearly 15 minutes waiting to be served by one of three sales people that were up,at the rear of store just chatting to each other and no one else in store but me.When I got up to leave thats when I was asked if I needed help,a bit late I thought.Thus is when I offered the make salesman a bit of advice in looking after their customers as I had just spent nearly $800 on glasses last Thursday. The prescription sun glasses that I drive with were not good made me feel dizzy,but the other clear ones are fine.This is when I left without getting my issue resolved.OPSM is sad.
Not what they used to be
I have always purchased my eyewear from OPSM. Spent thousands. Have always recommended them over the competition.. sorry but we have now broken up..
A few weeks ago and $580.00 later for new lenses i was presented with my updated glasses. I asked where the glass cleaning fluid was..i was told that i would have to purchase it..i don't want to deal with mean people..
Worst customer service and online experience
Ordered contact lenses from Opsm a few times online , every time have had issues with their ordering from wrong lenses being sent , charging my credit card twice for one order , receiving stock that expires in a short time frame . Customer service a rude and d not want to correct any issues as that would require them loosing money !!!
Do not use OPSM Eye Hub for Ortho-K
Do not get ortho-k lenses from here.
Had our initial assessment then received a call to pick up the lenses for my daughter.
Asked if I need to make an appointment and told no, you don't need your daughter to come, all paid, just pick up.
When I came to pick up another lady said here you are and handed over. I asked what do I do, are they just like other contacts. Apparently yes.
Asked how do I clean and said you can buy one of these products if you like. Asked should I have an appointment she said this is usually after 6 month mark.
Had blurry vision. Went and got checked. $500 later got glasses. Gave me drops for dry eyes $8. Got home put in drops. Didn't need the glasses. Been 3 years.
Terrible and misleading service. High prices.
Last year I went to opsm to get prescription lenses for 2 pairs of sunglasses. One pair was a gift and were the wrong size so needed to exchange them. At the first opsm I was told that they needed to be exchanged at the same store they were purchased from. (This turned out to be untrue - the person at the first opsm just didn't want to process the refund). Then at the second store I was told that they could only be refunded to the same person who purchased them. Despite me having the receipt. So eventually when I lined up the correct person to...refund them with. Then when I went to purchase the lenses I was told that because it was close to the new year they come of spread the two transactions over the two years so I could claim the health fund in seperate years. Which sounded great but when I went to pick them up, they told me that they didn't know why I was told that because they definitely can't. It was the same person telling me this. I ended up purchasing lenses from them but won't be buying anything from there again because in addition to the terrible misleading service they charge a fortune for lenses.

No hope from them
I ordered my prescripton safety glasses on 17-10-2019 and was told will let me know the time to pick up around 2 weeks time. Unitl this week I still did not hear any news from them. I have contacted their staff 3 times this week (8-11-2019) and none of them can confirm the time for picking up my safety glasses. According to our company's safety requirement I need to do work with this safety glasses otherwise I will be forced to leave the work. I really not recommend OPSM especially Hornsby store.
Purchased glasses in Pakenham Vic had a problem received no service head office wont return emails impossible to contact.
If you need glasses and want service give OPSM a big miss.
They've ruined my frames... Twice!
I purchased frames and lenses and had them fitted. Upon closer inspection they'd bent the frame so out of shape they couldn't be fixed and were replaced under warranty (after taking them back 4 times over a 2 week period and having to make a formal complaint). Last week I had them tightened by OPSM and they have gone completely out of shape again to the point where things are now slightly blurry. I'm sick and tired of taking them back. When I think of OPSM I think of complete and utter incompetence. I will not shop there again and will definitely not recommend them to anyone either. Basically I'm left with frames that OPSM cant shape properly or correctly.
Lost faith in OPSM
Purchased 2 pairs of spectacles from OPSM Loganholme 6 months ago, both with expensive frames, everything was fine until an arm on one pair loosened dramatically, so I returned them & they tightened the arms, a short time later cracks appeared in each lens in the corners where the arms were secured, returned them & was told they would have to be sent away for lens replacement, I was left with no spectacles for middle distance as my others were for close work only.I was told that it would be would be marked urgent & would take approximately 1 ...week I rang after 10 days & had trouble getting anyone to answer, tried 2 advertised phone numbers when finally my call was answered & I was told that they had not been returned yet, rang again a few days later& was told that they were in transit but as the store I purchased them from was undergoing refurbishment I would have to travel to another store to pick them up when they did arrive as the store would not be reopening for 3-4 weeks- The closest store is now 20 minutes drive away on the Expressway not 5 minutes up the road, which being elderly is why I chose the store in the first place- why wasn't I told this when I returned them? I could have waited, they weren't going to fall apart & at least I could see, now I am unable to see TV without getting a headache or see anything clearly in the middle distance. Very dissapointed with their uncaring service- not at all happy with OPSM
Came in to the store to pick out some frames and order my new glasses. I asked what frames would suit my shaped face, I got no answer, and very little help choosing some frames. I felt rushed and left without helpful customer service. Customer service accelerated once I had chosen the frames and the lady wanted to up sell some anti reflection coating for the lenses. I declined the offer and asked about the blue screen blocking for the lenses, I specifically asked if the blue shadowing shows on the lenses to which I wasnt shown an example yet as...sured it doesnt. Fast forward two weeks, make an extra trip to pick my glasses up 40minutes from home, wrong frames and there is blue shadowing on the lenses. The customer service was just poor. The problem is being rectified however I have felt extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience at OPSM and I truly wish I had spent my money else where. I will never shop There again.

Screwed up a simple order blaming the LAB?
My paperwork had no frame description or name and they tried to sell me another pair which was incorrectly supplied for my order.
Don't use OPSM if you need to see
OPSM's customer service is appalling. I have their contact lens subscription. 2/3 order they have had "technical difficulties" which resulted in me 1. having to call multiple times to ask where my order was only to be met with a lack of answers from OPSMs end and blaming their IT team 2. Running out of contact lens which was avoidable because I had ordered with a 2 week grace period.
Should seeing being important to you, do NOT order contact lenses from OPSM.
After 14 business days, I again reached out to OPSM where I was told they had droppe...d the ball multiple times with escalating the issue to IT and could not guarantee when IT would be able to fix the problem. They recommended they cancel the order and I could reorder. No discount, no trial lenses, nothing-Nothing more than an "I'm sorry for this inconvenience". Safe to say, I did not reorder with OPSM and will be taking my business elsewhere.
Absolute Rip Off
Went to the Westfield Coomera OPSM store, had a eye test with a very nice optometrist and then was taken out to the store to find frames...was asked to then pay $1200 for 2 pair of glasses including a 15% discount and I was asked if I could pay a 50% deposit..
This is totally ridiculous ...went a few stores away to Specsavers and ended up paying $391 for 2 pairs of glasses which to me is far more reasonable...
Will never go to OPSM again, avoid them at all costs....
Absolute Rip Off
Went to Helensvale OPSM, had a test and then was asked to pay over $1200 for 2 pairs of glasses.
This is abuse of their market domination charging $1200 for something that would cost less than $100 to manufacture.. Avoid OPSM and go elsewhere, and pay less.

Good quality but bad service
I picked up 2 pairs of my glasses this morning from OPSM Carousel and wasnt happy as 1 of them was a different model to what i ordered.
Todd, The guy who attended me wasnt trying to find out whether my order was right or wrong, instead he convinced me that the glasses is exactly what I ordered. So i walked out, and found out from Sunglass Hut that it wasnt the right model.
I went back to OPSM and talked to the same guy, he told me that its the companys fault, that he doesnt know why and that for me to wait for a new one. He did not once at al...
No no to OPSM Melbourne central
I went for an eye test that costs $120 (fine with that), nobody gave me info about the contact lens, the bill comes out $285 total. I was surprised by the total because did they really charge $160 for two boxes of daily lens? I asked for an explanation and this staff [name removed] got sassy out of nowhere. I then decided to not get the lens and she asked: “So you’re happy with not being able to see?” Omg what kind of sales tactic is that? Seems like she is making fun of me that I’m too poor to buy her damn ridiculously priced lens. I was deepl...y offended by that, paid and left and said: “that was so rude.” I planned to buy a frame that cost around $400 and just got lens for the time waiting for the glasses lens to be crafted. They lost my biz and I’ll never come back. I would rather buy cheaper things at specsaver or somewhere else where people are nicer. Go screw yourself [name removed] and OPSM for hiring staff like her. What’s the point of opening so many stores and just let horrible people like her ruin your reputation?

The worst experience I have ever had.
I am writing this review after three months as I did not want to express my feeling when the frustration was raised and reached the highest point.
The last week of 2018 decided to buy a pair of clear glasses.
Ordered the via Lavington store. After so many times back and forth as each time, the glasses came with at least one issue and after blaming the new lab the order was canceled at the first of April 2019.

I took my 4 year old daughter to OPSM today after it was suggested by the health nurse there was a problem.
I easily made my appointment online after doing research that they tested young children (it said they did, but didn't give specific ages) But that's where my positive feelings stopped. As i walked into my appointment and checked in, the receptionist told me my details weren't in the system. Terrible customer service
Some ladies in the staff don’t listen to customer’s questions, instead give meaningless and confusing explanations. One lady got really angry when I wanted to make sure that the new pair had premium lenses. She told that she couldn’t be arguing/explaining throughout the afternoon about the questions I had. So very rude of them to say to a customer like that. I just wanted to know whether there was a way to identify the premium multifocal lenses from the basic multifocal lenses. They say there’s no way except for the etchings on the lenses and ...they were struggling to find the etchings on the two pairs of glasses. One pair with basic multifocal lenses and the other pair supposed to be premium multifocal lenses, as I ordered premium lenses after I couldn’t read the computer with their basic multifocal lenses. I couldn’t see any etchings on either of the pair. How am I supposed to take one of those pairs home when they cannot say which is which. The same lady challenged me that I better get my money back without bothering her. I didn’t go to opsm to offend them or get refunds. I want a good pair of glasses to use after spending $1000. Finally they said they would send those two pairs to the laboratory to identify which is which.

Terrible customer service. Opinionated personal remarks made innapropriate conversation couldn't be bothered attitude rude incompetent over priced arrogant poor follow up skills they ignore you. Will never go there again.
