Bad,than bad,then got worse
I decided to go to opsm, after having bad customer service with spec savers,Well I’ll never go back to opsm again,I received My reading glasses,They had no prescription in them, they tried to convince me that they would take some time to get use to,Lucky my husband was with me and he tried them on,and said he couldn’t read with then Either,we spent another hour walking around shopping centre to wait to see what they were going to do,when we got back they then told us that the manufacturer had made the mistake,we then had to have another optometr...ist retake me vision,we then came b@ck a week later,in that time I had to have my eyes done with the eye drops were my husband would have to drive me home,so we made 5he appointment when my glasses come in,so they text me when they came in ,my husband left work to come and take me in because of the drops making your vision blurry,My glasses were ready and they were right this time, but they didn’t adjust them and told me to come back in 8 weeks for a free fitting and clean,Then we ask about the eye test and they said that the person that booked me in had not fixed it up properly and we had to make another appointment,I told her my husband had taken time off work to do this, she really didn’t care,I will never go back, and never get glasses from opsm again ,these glasses slide off my face, when I go to read,so disappointed.and so annoyed, Also they told me my receipt would be email,I still haven’t got that
Southern cross member charged for ret scan
Was informed eye test was free but not scan , agreed and had eyetest and purchase titanium glasses.
After one month lense fell out while driving. Loose screw that held lense in place. 0800 number in NZ did not work.
They did not answer email. Once one has paid there is no communication. Spent $900 and $600 for my wife. This company does not value there customers so they will eventually go out of business just see all the bad reviews. And its mainly about simple communication. Wow how simple can that be to solve.
The workmanship also need to ...
They have ruined my eyes
Just look at the ratings it says it all. OPSM have ruined my eyes , they have made every excuse under the sun and the regional Manager always promises to call back but never does. Its simple they have put Prism into Multi Focal glasses and after my research I have found out that this is NOT to be done. My eyes now are ruined the glasses are no good ( Just a sharper double vision ) so they refunded my money and tole me to keep the glasses, I want glasses that work but it was easier for them just to wipe their hands of it. Shame on you OPSR no wo...nder you get so many bad reviews. Update 6 Feb 2019: I wrote my 2nd review about OPSM and once again they wrote back and said how sorry they were that their Divisional Manager had not contacted me on numerous occasions and that they would contact me within 48 Business hrs well it's now been 96 Business hrs and again still no phone calls
Rudest staff and optometrist
I experienced the rudest behaviour from the Bowral store, starting with the optometrist and proceeding to retail staff. All the machines and utensils where filthy and my prescription was extremely weak once I got a second opinion. They directed me immediately to the cheapest frames, very discriminatory, as they believe majority of frames where too expensive for me and to come back once a sale starts. They also absolutely refused to measure my PD and after that, completely ignored me.
TERRIBLE customer service
Ordering online contacts from New Zealand on Dec 28 2018. Still have yet to receive the items, now asked for a refund instead.
Emailed customer care website Mid Jan 2019 asking about where they were? Got no response
Called OPSM customer care 0800 444539, told I missed the delivery and it "requires signature". Informed them, that I had been ordering from OPSM stores for like 8 years and this has never been an issue. It always just arrives in my letter box. I said this was not practical as I work FULLTIME 8am-5pm.
Was told by lady on the...
Not worth 1 STAR!! drama barbie!!
Quality of Oakley frames debatable - when lenses got damaged by Carindale employee nobody said anything, just handed them over hoping nobody would notice! Resulted in request for full refund ($730.00) but was only offered $557.00. When that was questioned employee yelled physical contact while yanking box with glasses in away from me when I wanted to show her the damage. Then she threatened to have me removed from the shop without the refund - what a drama queen, the minute she realised I was exposing their false advertising she used a well trusted method of making her "problem" go away!! Shocking service management but now I know for sure I should've gone you know where...
Customer Service Aftercare - very disappointing!
My glasses which I purchased from OPSM in January 2018 for $650.00 - (which I have to say were the most I had every spent on a pair of glasses) were taken back to OPSM in December 2018 as I could barely see through them. There were marks on each lens preventing me from seeing clearly. When I took them back to the store, the person I saw suggested that it was a coating issue on the lens and would have to be sent back. I was told this process would only take a couple of days. After 7 days I had not heard anything and had to follow up. They d...id have to call me back as they could not locate my glasses originally. They eventually phoned me back to advise that they were scratches on each lens and there was nothing they could do. Considering these glasses were less than 12 months old and I had purchased glasses from other companies previous to OPSM which are now 2 and 3 years old and do not have any scratches, I found this a little hard to believe? When I questionned this, their only offer was a 20% discount off a new pair of glasses. I found out later that this was a promotion and all customers were being offered 20% off. Very disappointed in the service with OPSM and will be going elsewhere for my glasses in future.
I needed my reading glasses replaced as insurance covered most but still I had to pay $100.
Received an SMS 10 days later that my order was ready to be collected. 15 minute drive only to find out that the new lenses were wrong size for my frames.
A week later I received another SMS that they were ready to be collected. Another drive only to find out they were tinted black not blue.
A week later I received another SMS that order was ready. Only to find out that the lenses were still a black tint not blue.
The young lady was apologetic and ...
OPSM Newmarket - Terrible, atrocious, appalling Customer Service
I was a potential customer calling them up, the receptionist seemed eager to get rid of me on the phone.
After discovering that I needed to change appointment time, I attempted all I could with the following:
- 3 phone call attempts made, each with an hour gap in between, no one answered (average duration of the phone ringing was about 2~3 minutes.
- No voicemail facility on the phones.
- Tried emailing them on their website, their email facility was down.
- Facebook messaged them requesting them to call me back as soon as possible.....
I had a number of tests done and wasn’t told that it would cost extra.. in the end I ended up paying $400 for extra tests and something special they did to my lenses I don’t even know what that was. I ordered prescription sunglasses and was never given the original lenses back when I picked up the glasses.. I paid for those lenses in the original cost of the sunglasses but OPSM say that the lab never return the original lenses to the store... what a money making rort for them. Every other
optometrist gives you the original lenses back. I like to have them so I can pass the sunglasses on when I am finished with them. I demanded them back of course. I won’t be going back!!!!
Poor Communication and Customer Service.
Very disappointed in the level of communication and customer service at the Macarthur Square store. I went in for an eye test and to purchase new frames and lenses and also new lenses for my own reading glasses frames. I was attended to by a girl that had only been in the job for two days - not her fault. I was advised that I was entitled to a discount but not advised that the discount only lasted for 2 weeks. I went in store to pay the full amount and was advised at that time that I would not be getting the discount as it ended 2 days before o...n the Saturday. I was disappointed that I had not been advised of this during my consultation but accepted it none the less. I was called and was advised that my glasses were ready to be picked up so went in store and was presented with glasses that had lenses with a line in the middle of them. Apparently that is normal for bi focals. I put them on and the whole room started spinning. I was advised by the assistant that this was normal and that I had 30 days to have them replaced if I was not happy with them. I thought that she meant to replace them with single vision lenses. I went in store today to advise them that I would be returning the other glasses and advised that I was told that the lenses would be replaced. The assistant then told me that I would have to pay the difference between the lenses as the ones that I was given were the cheap ones. I asked her what she was talking about and told her that I was not advised that there was more than 1 type of lens available for me to choose from. I then told her that I was most surprised that my lenses had turned up with a line across the centre of them and that if I had been aware of that I would never have chosen them. As a customer I felt as though I was a bother to them. I feel as though I was duped and I wont be going back there again. Oh by the way I wanted a Retinal Scan and was told by the Optometrist that it would cost $60 as it wasnot covered under Medicare. Specsavers do it as part of their eye test which is covered by Medicare. I'm confused by OPSM.
I went to get my eyes checked on Medicare. The test was not very long at all. He did not complete the eye health test like other optometrists have done. All he did was check my vision.
[name removed] advised that Medicare offers patients a macular test done every 3 years. He did not advise that there was a charge. When the test was completed he pushed me to purchase contact lenses at the store 3 times despite not requiring any. When I left I felt ripped off that I had to pay for a 3 minute Macular Test, I felt uninformed and that OPSM are sly and sneaky. I’m not patronising in your business ever again!!
Bad experience on all levels...
Customer service is very bad and they can't offer solutions, could not order online due to IT issues on OPSM website in relation to my email address. They did not sort out the IT issue and the Customer Service guys says sorry there is nothing I can do for you to order lenses and I was left with no contact lenses.
Worst customer service, left feeling like I has done something wrong trying to buy your product....
An absolutely terrible experience with customer service today. Went to OPSM to buy prescription sunglasses. Have been going here for many years, as has all my family. Was told I could get a pair of sunglasses transferred from their partner sunglasses hit so went and picked the frames, checked it was possible with them and then went to OPSM for an eye check and to make my sizeable purchase. [name removed] tried to get the glasses transferred but told me it was impossible and didn’t even try speaking to a manager or head office to see if it could...be done. She just told me it wasn’t possible. Then looked at the computer to see if another set would be possible. Again just said no. Didn’t offer to show me any more frames or help in any way. Was really rude and condescending and considering I usually spend around d $1k, I don’t think it was good enough. Poor form saying you have a partnership with sunglasses hut and then not honouring what you promise(remember I checked with them beforehand) bug even POORER form for being so curt and unhelpful, not even offering to help me pick anothier pair. This company has gone rapidly downhill with their customer service training. Very very disappointing.
Organisation and Communication go hand on hand
I had an eyetest on a previous occasion at tbe Morley WA store. I received an SMS from OPSM saying my eyetest is due. I attended the Morley store on 9th Dec, 2018. After giving my details and Medicare card, I was given a 12.30 appointment, for which I waited approximately 40 minutes. Upon my return I was advised the optometrist was running late. Conversation then continued to say that I was not actually due for an eye test and I was unable to be seen that day. No explanation given for the incorrect advice, very poor service. Will never use OPSM in the future
Had to go in more than 10 times
Ridiculous. How can you get it wrong so many times. While they emphasise on getting it right for you, their customer service drops with each visit and you can feel your unwanted presence each time. This has been shocking. It gives me so much anxiety for approaching the sales people because of their poor attitude, but also because I paid so much money for my lenses and frame and they are still a bad fit.
Disappointing all way long (online and in-store and customer service on the phone)
After having waited 8 working days to receive my lenses ordered via OPSM online, I called and they confirmed that nothing had been done in the system. The lady on the phone, didn't really seem to care that much, but still activated the system so I could receive it in a FEW business days.
I asked if there was a possibility to be accommodated with lenses just for the waiting period, e.i. 2 contact lenses for a 2 week duration popular brand no fuss...but she said NO that I could go buy them if I wanted though...
I've ordered online because I've...
Will never go back
Bought my first pair of glasses from OPSM in Subiaco. I had to get the lenses replaced three times as they were always too small for the frames. For the third replacement they ordered a new frame to fit new lenses to, but although they finally got the fit right the frames were a different colour which I did not like. I had to go back for the fourth time to get the old frames back hoping that the new lenses would fit them. No such luck. I am now stuck with a wobbly lens on one side after having spent hundreds of dollars. The store also gave me a random box and case that does not belong with the glasses I purchased. I will not be going back to OPSM and will warn others of the terrible service.
Bunch of crooks
I pay for Ray band lenses to be fitted on my frames and pay for top dollar only to be told they can’t provide me with ray band lenses and I had to settle for the normal OPSM lenses when I ask for refund
the answer was they ray band and OPSM price was the same hahaha
Not when I put the order in they told me I have to pay extra as the ray bands lenses were more expensive !!!! Well let me tell you something you will never see me walk in OPSM shop ever again. ..... !!!!
Very unprofessional organisation shame really
Macquarie Centre NSW-Did not honour my scheduled appointment
Booked an appointment on line for an eye test at 10am. Arrived at 0945am. Was invisible it seems to the staff present. Finally got attention and they did not seem to have my details despite being a customer for many years. Walked out at 10.20 am. Received call at 1025 wanting to reschedule. Why reschedule when you already have an appointment? Should have gone to spec savers?
I told the optometrist the reason I was there was I that I work in an office with computer I was finding I was having to take my glasses off a few times a day After the eye test I was told I should now be using the glasses for driving as well (OK) but after paying $500 including retinal scan when I picked them up reading didn’t really seem any different . I did ask the person fitting them are they for reading? And was told yes. Its now two months later and i can see better with the glass off looking at a computer screen then on. . Ive gone back and been told there is a 2nd proscription for reading glass which will cost $286 even if they use my old frames
I have been twice to a Opsm store in Perth within the last 5 weeks, and of both occasions when I have been given the bill and they have added extras that I was never asked If I had wanted, this is bordering on criminal. I assume they probably get 50% of there unaware customers who just pay it thinking it’s part of the bill...crooks
Promised, we can have a choice of reading glasses bulk billed but after I had my eyesight checked by optometrists, they could not provide me with choices.
I was clear from the start that I wanted glasses covered by Bupa (bulk billed)
Than I was given 5 glasses to choose, after I chosen 1, I was told I still have to pay the difference.
I left the Elsternwick store very upset and disappointed, with no glasses!!
Never come back and do no suggest to anyone to go there!!
OPSM Melton branch bad customer service
3 of us was booked today (13 Oct ) my husband was late instead of looking after me and my son who were early and well ahead on time..this woman disregard our turn and let other people in instead of us..when my husband arrived after an hour of waiting we just cancelled on spot.. This rude woman just wasted our time...in fairness to the old lady staff she’s nice...but still not a nice experience for us. I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone.
Overcharge at burwood opsm
I was charged for retinal scan for $60 in burwood opsm and I went to a few other optometrist in my area the next day to ask them about this test and it was all free!!! This is definitely a rip off for consumers when they don't know what the professionals are doing. This is such a dodge business and I won't suggest any of my family or friends to go there. I have a business in the burwood Westfield too, and this kind of service should not be tolerated. I would suggest my customers to go to spec savers and other optometrist instead.
Questions & Answers
