OPSM doesn't take responsibility for faulty lenses
Update: OPSM has replaced the lenses and I was told that the lenses don't typically melt easily. Might have been just an isolated quality control issue. This time the customer service was great and I can see myself shopping at opsm in the future.

I came to OPSM to get my first prescription glasses. Well, I didn't know any better at the time. Despite the fact that I had to splurge $450 on one pair (which is way more expensive than at their competitors) they have melted! One lense melted in about 6 months after ...I got the glasses. I never wear glasses outdoors and the moment I take them off, they go right back in the case (that I was given by OPSM). When I brought them to the store, I was told that it had melted because of sun exposure but they couldn't explain how come one melted and not the other. No attempt to take responsibility - nothing. So I sucked it up and replaced it. A bit later, the second lens melts as well. Only this time it rarely left the drawer at the furthest corner of my apartment from the window. Do I have to carry my glasses in a cooler to avoid melting? Judging by this, the lenses must have been faulty to begin with, but OPSM won't take the responsibility for it. Will never do lenses with them again.
Lost faith in OPSM
Purchased 2 pairs of spectacles from OPSM Loganholme 6 months ago, both with expensive frames, everything was fine until an arm on one pair loosened dramatically, so I returned them & they tightened the arms, a short time later cracks appeared in each lens in the corners where the arms were secured, returned them & was told they would have to be sent away for lens replacement, I was left with no spectacles for middle distance as my others were for close work only.I was told that it would be would be marked urgent & would take approximately 1 ...week I rang after 10 days & had trouble getting anyone to answer, tried 2 advertised phone numbers when finally my call was answered & I was told that they had not been returned yet, rang again a few days later& was told that they were in transit but as the store I purchased them from was undergoing refurbishment I would have to travel to another store to pick them up when they did arrive as the store would not be reopening for 3-4 weeks- The closest store is now 20 minutes drive away on the Expressway not 5 minutes up the road, which being elderly is why I chose the store in the first place- why wasn't I told this when I returned them? I could have waited, they weren't going to fall apart & at least I could see, now I am unable to see TV without getting a headache or see anything clearly in the middle distance. Very dissapointed with their uncaring service- not at all happy with OPSM

Good quality but bad service
I picked up 2 pairs of my glasses this morning from OPSM Carousel and wasnt happy as 1 of them was a different model to what i ordered.
Todd, The guy who attended me wasnt trying to find out whether my order was right or wrong, instead he convinced me that the glasses is exactly what I ordered. So i walked out, and found out from Sunglass Hut that it wasnt the right model.

I took my 4 year old daughter to OPSM today after it was suggested by the health nurse there was a problem.

Superior customer service to Specsavers
Better range and whilst more expensive than Spec:(Savers, there's a considerable difference in quality. Unlike their competition, OPSM will make sure you've got the right frames. Size matters!
Don't waste your time going to OPSM Hoppers Crossing in the Werribee Plaza. They are hopeless. Specsavers in the same complex however are great. They have great service and prices and use the latest technology for a comprehensive eye test . And no, I don't have any vested interest, just going from my experience.
Visited for eye check yesterday. After testing I was informed I needed to pay $49 for an additional contact lens fitting. I asked for the script but was told I needed to try different scripts to get the right lens. She stated she only had the glasses script. I have never had this answer before and felt it was money grabbing to get me to buy lenses from them. OPSM price is double what I can pay on line. Then I asked if glaucoma test was ok. She told me l need to pay for this test but had told me earlier my pressure was on the high side of normal. This is rubbish OPSM. An eye test should include the Glaucoma test like at other places. Very disappointed at the money grabbing attitude/policies of OPSM.

Ordered and paid top dollar for multi-focals, only to be told there will be a delay because lenses come from China and currently trade borders are closed between them and America. Why not made in Australia considering the cost?
Delivery takes forever!!!!
Ordered contact lenses on the 20th and its still processing. Website say 3-7 working days. It's been a week and I badly need new ones. OPSM should clarify if its 3-7 processing days + delivery time or what... Also, the first time I ordered same thing happened except the lenses were defective. Had to send it back then re order again. Not happy at all.
So much more expensive than anywhere else
More than double the price of competitors but you don’t get double the value. Won’t be going back. For some reason you also get less back on your health fund as well.
Dont expect too much
Having spent $320.00 to fit lenses to my existing frames, having waited nearly three weeks my glasses finally arrived. Yes they were fine and were duly handed to me in a snap lock bag.
I had the apparent audacity to ask for a glasses case where i was quickly told OPSM do not supply glass cases.
Oh well, no problem just popped next door to Specsavers where i was provided a case for $5.00
Terrible service - exorbitant prices
I might as well have been invisible when I walked in, there were no other customers in store on a Sunday morning and 4 employees. None of whom even bothered with a ‘hello’ until I went up to them for assistance.
Prices quoted were unbelievably expensive without bothering to explain why. When asked to be shown alternatives I was pointed to a case of frames and left to my own devices.
Please, if you can’t justify the price you’re charging your customers at least be courteous and patient when they need a bit more assistance.

Great local OPSM. Regularly buy sunglasses there - really good advice and helpful. Staff always remember you and make you feel really special.
Good quality glasses but watch for the prices
I like Luxoticca brands (owner of OPSM) but unfortunately they are sold via OPSM where you really pay a premium for that comparing other shops. I bought a few pair of glasses for work and every time I am not sure how much money I will spend and the people there always recommend to buy the most expenses lenses while I am not interested in them so I can't really understand all the prices available.
I would like that they will provide prices online so I already know how much to spend and what to say when I go to the store instead of asking for cheaper lenses while I have been forced to look the most expensive ones first.

I ordered my lenses online. Paid the cost. Got an email saying that I didn’t put the prescription even when that is impossible because you cannot order lenses wit hour prescription. Next day received an email saying that my order was on hold and I never received another answer. I had to chase the sender of the emails to get answers. Very unprofessional service. I’m very disappointed. Won’t do order online again and if possible won’t order from opsm anymore.

Why should I pay more when I bought a par of RayBan frames and was not told that they would be engaged with the RayBan on them in the right hand corner now for me to get it fix up I have to pay $260 extra on top of what I have or ready paid I don’t think it’s right I have paid a lot of money or ready and I will never shop at opsm again I am very disappointed this is my first and last time with Tuggeranong ACT eye tested on the 21/4/21 got them in the post on the 14/5/21 I have eyewear Protection Plan and still have to pay $260 why
Yes Margaret you are right. They should have explain about whole thing specially about the price. I have a bad experience with them, too.
